Congressman Trey Gowdy Challenges Obama to Testify in Place of Susan Rice

Rep. Trey Gowdy challenged President Obama to testify in Secretary of State nominee Susan Rice’s place in the wake of Obama’s statements during a rare press conference that critics should “go after” him. President Obama responded to legitimate criticism of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice saying, “If Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me.” Rice has been accused of providing misleading statements to several news organizations, speaking at the request of the White House.

Several questions remain unanswered about the events that led to the narrative that was promoted by Susan Rice, when she went on several Sunday news programs claiming that the September 11 attacks in Benghazi were the result of a “spontaneous” protest resulting from a YouTube movie trailer five days after the terror attack, despite evidence to the contrary. It has since come out that references to “al Qaeda” and “terrorism” were deliberately removed from the “talking points” given to Ambassador Rice.
