Senate Rejects Bid to Overturn EPA Rule

The Senate on Thursday rejected an effort to repeal an Environmental Protection Agency rule on power-plant emissions that cross state lines, dealing a blow to lawmakers who support the coal industry.

Fifty-six lawmakers voted against the measure, including six Republicans, mostly from Eastern states, who defected to vote with the Democratic majority. Two Democrats, Sens. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) and Ben Nelson (D., Neb.), joined 41 Republicans who voted to institute a less restrictive rule that previously was in place.

The result was a setback for critics who say the new rule’s timeline is too stringent and that it would lead to job losses in the coal industry by causing the closure of coal-fired power plants. It bolstered the position of Senate Democrats who have vowed to fight Republican efforts to stop EPA rules.

I think we should cut off all power to the homes of these senators and refuse to sell them any gasoline today. Since they are supposed to be leaders, let them lead by feeling what can happen when the coal fired electrical plants shut down. They should also feel the effect of their refusal to open up drilling to allow more oil and gas to be freed up. When these “leaders” feel the results of their idiotic decisions, maybe then we will get the proper decisions make.

  • Cathy

Who were the six Republicans who voted with the Democrats?

    • MistyMorn

Ayotte (NH), Collins & Snowe (ME) — I can’t remember the other 3.

    • G. Tansek

Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, and Mark Kirk of Illinois…

      • BarJor

Thanks for the names, I hope people remember tham on election day and vote them out.

      The six Senators were:
      Lamar Alexander of Tenn.
      Kelly Ayotte of NH
      Scott Brown of Mass,
      Susan Collins of Maine
      Olympia Snowe of Maine
      Mark Kirk of Ill.

There were originally a small group of Republicans lining up against Paul’s bill, described by the New Hampshire Journal as “The Jackson Five.” (In honor of EPA chief Lisa Jackson.) They were Maine’s two senators, Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Scott Brown of Massachusetts. At the eleventh hour another name joined the list… Mark Kirk. (R-Illinois) So I suppose now it’s the Jackson Six? Doesn’t have the same ring to it. From

    • JonDee

Good question Cathy. Who are the Republicans who voted across the lines? It is time we rid Congress of wishey washey “conservitives and commey Dem’s bent on tearing our country appart

      • JonDee

I served with men/women in the military, who wanted to perserve the American Dream of Liberty and Freedom for all True Citizens. I knew and served with 500 men that gave their lives in NAM in one week alone. Shame on these Liberals, they are not true Americans. I doubt that any of them ever wore a military uniform or were ever in Combat zone to perserve our way of life.

    • Wayne

Cathy, this is what I would like to know also. If we don’t know who these RINO’s are, how can we vote against them? I hope and pray that we can get a Republican Senate an House next year and get rid of this Communist we now have that is slowing destroying the country piece by piece.

      • HANDYMAN

Wayne, it is so good to see that some of the people here can recognize that we have communist working very hard to distroy this great nation, that was ruled by the people, for the people.

        • SHIRLEY

handy man…………i heard on t.v. that the EPA being the friend to obama….wants it stopped….(OF COURSE) obama is using this as his excuse to change his mind until after the 2012 election…..he thinks that he would lose their support if he o.k.”d it now… but his plan is that right now he can satisfy THEM and then after the election and (HE IS COUNTING ON BEING RE-ELECTED) then he will o.k.the pipe line…..WE HAVE THE MOST CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION IN HISTORY….. THEY EVEN BACK BITE EACH OTHER…………..WE HAD BETTER MAKE THIS ELECTION COUNT FOLKS!!!!!!NO ROOM FOR A MISTAKE

          • Hambone

Shirley, you are right, but what is critically important is that all the people who get it and are active now, should continue to be extremely active and vigilant, even if we “think” good people are elected who are there to help instead of control the people. Of Course, by help I mean “back the Govt up about 50% for a start”. I have determined that we have been moving in the direction the current leadership is moving for about 90 years, just at a slower pace. It is really sick, but so few take the time to educate themselves. So if we manage a good election, we cannot lay down and rest. The next generation is almost 100% indoctrinated (i.e. public school is serving its sole purpose for existence, teach people to enslave themselves). But even the indoctrinated can learn if they exist and thrive under freedom and self-determination long enough. Freedom is usually felt when it is taken away so long as it was being exercised, we need to exercise freedom as often as possible eo that the next generation can feel it when the next group of freaks begin to take that freedom away.

Handyman, I call things the way I see them. There is not a thing about me that is political correctness. I call Christmas, Christmas, not X-mas. In December I say Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. Just think of me as a person who loves my country and the freedom we have. I don’t have any respect for Communist Obama and any of his cronies, better know as his Czars, and his followers. In my own mind I know that Obama has set out to destroy this nation. I am not very happy with the people still supporting him. Thanks for seeing it the same way.

          • Randy G

Way to GO! I say Christmas, too. I have to since I was born on Christmas Day (12/25/50).

Wayne it is good to hear from another person who believes in this country and who recognized what Obama was even before his election. The first time I heard him speak touting his plan for a Change in America, I knew it in my heart and my gut. If he had such a good plan he wouldn’t have been afraid to tell us what it was. I have heard since, that he did tell us, but I didn’t ever hear it, and my initial response of distrust and suspicion has proved right. Keep up the good work, friend.

          • George2

I have , all my life, read, “of the people, for the people, by the people”…We absolutely can not even THINK to depend upon “our” CONGRESS to do the job which NEEDS to be done, So…just exactly how do we, “the people” publish a petition and get it started…to oust these socialist communistic people who are destroying our constitution and nation? I’ll be the first to sign one!

          • http://yahoo Bob H

Wayne you have millions of American men and women who feel just like you about this Communist run White House, like you we are watching the fall of a great nation, the closing of coal mines and the closing of coal burning power plants, is there some old burning power plants with out scubbers on them, yes but most of the plants have scubbers and the air polution is way down from ten years ago and only getting better, but Obama wants to kill coal for good and we the American people will pay a heavy prive in the lost of job’s and much higher electric bills, 57 % of homes in America depend on these coal burning plants to help heat their homes in the winter, and to keep them cool in the hot summer. If we lose this fight to keep cheap coal burning power plant’s going, then Obama will have a death grip on the American Dream, and we all lose to this Communist President called Barack Obama. Wayan Merry Christmas to you and your family , and one word for Obama ( INPEACHMENT )

        • American Patriot

I’ve seen some coal fired power plants when traveling through ND and Wyoming. Yes they are dirty and the ones bitching the loudest are no doubt the ones using the cheap power. Think of how many candles one would have to burn to compare on a BTU basis. Maybe coal isn’t so bad after all.

          • http://FaceBook ron yurchak

Fire em up. Dig baby dig.

          • Pineapple

While the EPA is shutting down coal fired power plants in the U.S., the U.S. is exporting record amounts of coal to China and other countries which have few, if any environmental regulations.

The emissions from this coal will enter the atmosphere, and
will be spread throughout the world, including the U.S., by the jet stream and other currents. Mercury emissions from this coal will enter the oceans of the Far East, from which 84% of U.S. seafood is imported.

Meanwhile, American consumers are being forced to buy mercury filled light bulbs in order to conserve electricity. These bulbs will eventually end up in landfills, where the mercury will leach into rivers, streams, and underground aquifers, which are used to irrigate crops.

So, while the federal government is claiming to protect us, the unintended consequences of its actions are putting us in more peril
and destroying jobs in the process.

          • Charles F Neukam

Coal isn’t bad, I said in the past & I’m saying it now! Nobody wants to work together to improve what we have! It is my way are the highway, if not we will sue! I’m sick & tired of these panty waste ruin what we have! Men love working with the mechanics of society! We’re turning into a nation of weak minded fools cause of the left wing nut jobs! American Patriot,
God gave that land to Israel way back 1200 years before Christ. Joshua marched in with God’s help and took it. Over the centuries he chastized the Jews for their bad behavior and finally the Romans destroyed the Temple in 70 AD and dispersed the Jews among the nations. It’s written in the Bible that God would bring them back. The effort to bring the Jews back to their home land fulfilled the Bible prophesy. Your attitude is against God, not Harry.

They are SENATORS with 6 (SIX) year terms. Many of them were JUST RE-elected so they are untouchable in 2012, and in the 4 MORE years they are not worried that ANYONE will remember their treachery.
The stupid ones are those who voted to re-elect them in 2010.

We have one here in Indiana by the name of Senator Richard Luger (R), however he is trying to appear like a Republican for now because he has an opponent in the up coming Primary. He has served 6 terms as senator from Indiana and votes like Arlen Specter.
His opponent is Richard Murdock, which is currently the Treasurer for the State of Indiana and had the balls to sue the Obama administration over the bankruptcy deal that put the Unions ahead of the secured creditors and the state of Indiana lost millions of dollars that were invested in Chrysler bonds for the retirement funds of teachers and police officers for the state. However, the Supreme Court threw the suit out.
Richard Murdock could use all the help he can get to elimnate another RINO so if you can make a contribution it would be greatly appreciated.

you are 1000% right, the EPA is destroying our country they make it now to where you can’t even enjoy our land because its all off limits, its either some kind of insect or the latest one the milk weed plant and this is in the middle of the frickin desert that was an old mining district and off rd area, i do know a couple of areas that have been totally off limits and now all of a sudden there allowing solar plants to be built on this land that was off limits, i dont understand

        • G Schmidt

How about the other way around. We have a Federal EPA with a comprehensive set of rules, Why do every state has to have their own enviromental agency? (which by the way, are easily corrupted by local money and politicians). Why do corporations have to file compliance documents in every state the operate on? If you really dislike regulations, that would be the best way to eliminate a lot of them.

Remember, pollution, contaminated water in lakes and rivers move thru different states. What pollution is generated in Ohio will most likely affect Lousiana down river.

    • Ott

look up the voting record of the senate

    • Mike Koetting

I live in Illinois and we in the Tea Party knew Kirk was a RINO and tried to stop him, but they have Chicago. It’s hard to overcome the numbers they have. It would be nice if the Chicago fire could have held off until more recent times and the floods that occcured, took East St. Louis down the river. The rest of the state is Republican, except those two countys – which rule and destroy the state. Sad thing is that Repubs did have control about 12 years ago, and they did nothing to correct the overwhelming debt crisis which was coming either.

    • Mike Tanco

We need to clean out Congress, set a limit on terms they can serve and get rid of the EPA completely. Professional politicians are killing us because they think we work for them. And our soft spoken Prez doesn’t know beans about leading a country. He is supposed to represent all people not just Democrats. He never intended on keeping his campaign promises. Anyone with average intelligence could have seen that based on the people that backed him and those he was associated with. He has covered up his past for one reason; if the truth were know he would not be eligible to be President.
      Mike Tanco

    • Sandi

Here is the web address to find out how all the Senators voted. You might be surprised as to the republicans who are really RINO..
Copy this web address and you will see how each voted by their states.

    • Dingbat36

If you do a bit of looking on the Internet, you could certainly find out. Go look it up.

It can be found by googling ..ask for the votes.

    • John D.

      Here you go!!!!!!:

The six Republicans who voted against the Paul resolution were Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Scott Brown (Mass.), Susan Collins (Maine), Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Mark Kirk (Ill.).

    • Iron Angel

We need to vote those RINO’s out of office… somehow, people have to start paying attention. But 98% of Americans do not research the issues. Soon your electric bill will be so high you will be sitting in the dark with no appliances on because you won’t be able to afford electric and food too. This is exactly why our jobs are going to China. God help us… The EPA wants us all dead so their god mother earth can revive herself. It’s called agenda 21, read about it… Agenda 21 DEATH map areas of no human use, restricted areas where humans cannot go!

    • psutopgun

Some of the Republicans were Collins and Snow of Maine, Brown Of Mass, Kirk of Illinois but don’t know other two commies. EPA rules will further crush domestic energy which will make Obama very pleased. He told the coal industry he would destroy it and he is doing just that.

    • floramae

Senators, Lamar Alexander, Kelly Ayotte, good old Scott Brown, and of course the bobsey twins, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, and lastly Mark Kirk of Ill., there ya go, call them on Monday and give em h!ll, like I will be doing.

    • JoJo

My first guess was Lamar Alexander from TN and I was right because you can always count on Lamar to vote with the progressives. He plans on running in 2014, hopefully, we can find a TEA party candidate to challenge him in the primaries. This is from Hot Air: “There were originally a small group of Republicans lining up against Paul’s bill, described by the New Hampshire Journal as “The Jackson Five.” (In honor of EPA chief Lisa Jackson.) They were Maine’s two senators, Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Scott Brown of Massachusetts. At the eleventh hour another name joined the list… Mark Kirk. (R-Illinois) So I suppose now it’s the Jackson Six? Doesn’t have the same ring to it.”

    • Blondie36621

They were Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine , Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Scott Brown of Massachusetts and Mark Kirk of Illinois .

    • babs

You can find all these online for each state. They must have been bought or threatened.

    • Joann

you mean the commies who voted with the commies

    • David Wisner

Hello CATHY! Our forefathers had to deal with BENEDICT ARNOLD, now ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ have to deal with ‘ALL’ of the DEMOCRATS, INCLUDING ‘ALL’ of the REPUBLICANS who won’t, and DON’T, stand up to be “HONEST & TRUTHFUL” elected officials! It’s time to “VOTE” them ‘ALL OUT’, and start ‘anew’ with elected officials who are NOT CORRUPTED by WASHINGTON’S ‘TWO-STEP’ dance! When ‘elected officials’ become OBSTINATE, BULL-HEADED, LYING, CHEATING ‘BITCHES & BASTARDS’, then it’s time to set EVERYTHING ‘RIGHT’!! There are over 88 million AMERICANS who own ‘GUNS’, and there are plenty of ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ who are TOTALLY ‘PISSED-OFF’ enough to borrow a gun, go to Washington D.C. and go ‘DUCK HUNTING’ in the Capitol buildiung.

    • Wayne Herrod

Collins and Snow were two, I couldn’t find the other 4, can anyone else? I know our loser Sherrod Brown, a Demicon, also voted against it.

    • patriot2

yes who are they those rinos need to go.

    • GENE

Let’s have names. SEN BROWN, MA one of them? He turned out to be a reid favorite with no conscience.

    • Old Faithful Geyser

The six “Republicans?” were; Sen. Alexander Lamar, TN., Kelly Ayotte, NH., Scott Brown MA., Susan Collins, ME., Olympia Snow, ME., Mark Kirk, IL.
We need to remember these MORONS and vote them out the next time they run for office and in the mean time, when it comes time to give out assignments in the next Senate, the Republican leaders need to over look these turn coats. Especially the twin RINOS from Maine as they vote along with the enemy most of the time. I think that the Reublican Party needs to shun these two and cut them off from any campaign help or funds at all.

    • http://tiscali johnny h

I would not like to be taking calls at the offices of the GOP today!!

    • Lorimae

I believe they were……… Maine’s two senators, Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Scott Brown of Massachusetts. At the eleventh hour another name joined the list… Mark Kirk. (R-Illinois)

    • Grizz Mann

Don’t be so hard on them. After all the are trying to help the President skyrocket energy costs.

    • frank1737

I’m a Vietnam Vet and I will say, “You Most Likely Can Bet McCain Was One Of Them!!! He’s A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing!!

    • Don August

Bet I can name half of them: Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and Scott Brown of Massachusetts!

    • Gloria

The six Republicans who voted against the Paul resolution were Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Scott Brown (Mass.), Susan Collins (Maine), Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Mark Kirk (Ill.).

Three of which we know are weak and RINOs

    • joseph g

Very Smart! You will most likely find that those same six voted for barry care. That is the first place to start to clean house. Vote out all dems and the rino’s. Pass it on!!!!!!

    • Bobby

Why all the sudden is there this push to eliminate the EPA? It sure does not come from the general public……..we are very Conservative about our water supplies and our clean air. So it must come from big coal interests through the Congressmen and women they have in their back pockets. I am old enough to remember what brought the EPA into existance. Big Business dumpers had poured so much toxic waste and sludge into the Cuyahoga River in Ohio that it caught on fire. The pictures of the river burning played on the evening news for many days and outraged people to the point that they called their Representatives and Senators and demanded a way to safeguard our water supplies. The Environmental Protection Agency was born a few months later when President Nixon signed the enabling legislation into law. They have protected our water supplies ever since…….although many businesses still push the envelope and do not comply. As an old conservative, I for one believe that we need this agency and we need the rules it promulgates. Companies who don’t agree certainly have a right to redress of their grieveances through petitions to the EPS and through Congress……but to willy nilly abolish all regulation gets us back to rivers catching on fire and water supplies being permanently ruined. I had a wonderful stream I fished in as a kid……a small coal company destroyed it and a Sulpher creek poured into it. No fish or anything lives in a sulpher tainted creek. Sulpher kills everything Stop attacking the EPA

      • OkieTwister

When the EPA was tending to the real problems they were set up for, they were fine and had a great purpose. Now they are just doing the bidding of a corrupt president. So many of these agencies are corrupted by and weakened by the current leadership. We just need to boot Obama out, then we can eliminate the overlapping of agencies, cut out the corruption and the overstaffing. Any organization is only as strong and as efficient as their leader ……and that is quite evident in the EPA and many other agencies.

    • http://msn Mike Stone Sr

To hell with the rinos, they and ALL Congressional members, republican and democrat that have been returned to Washington for over two terms must be purged! Why on Earth will people not understand that every repressive regulation and job killing intrusion is brought to the floor for vote by politicians who have virtual tenure , that have been re-elected by naive , simple minded constituents that are being seduced by “ear marks” and special programs that rob from productive Americans and give to non productive, undeserving crooks and mooches, many times now, not even American citizens! mY HEART BREAKS FOR MY COUNTRY!

    • Dennis Fennell

Yes WHO are the six Republicans ???? please post so WE can VOTE THEM OUT !!!!

    • clh

Republican Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, and Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, both of Maine, joined U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander from Tennessee in rejecting Paul’s resolution.

    • AverageJoeTexas, Dallas

Most likely the ones with the biggest campaign donations and offshore accounts.

    • HermanK

You can find out how any senator or congressman voted on any bill, as long as it is a roll call vote, and most votes are roll call votes. Just go to You will need the bill number or name or just the date it was voted on. I use it all the time. It is particularly useful for sending e-mials to keep them on their toes.

    • Angel

The Tea Party must get after these Republicans that voted with the Democrats, we demand to know who they are. And vote them out.

    • Mary/Atlanta

Congress must DEFUND the EPA. We need jobs and energy independence – NOT more EPA undfounded laws/rules. According to the Constitution Congress makes laws NOT the EPA. EPA “rules” should not be binding. We did NOT ELECT the EPA. ENOUGH! No more tax payer dollars should go to the EPA.

    • John Galt

Bet Kirk of Illinois was one of them. Illinois had no choice when they voted for him. It was either him or a crooked Democrat.

    • smitty

I haven’t seen their names, but I will bet you anything that Lindsey Graham (Republican from South Carolina) was the first to vote with the Dems. He lies about about his conservative approach as he constantly votes with the Demo’s. He voted to approve both Obama’s Supreme Court appointees who were not qualified, but only had a “politically correct” approach to our Constitution as does B.H.O. Graham only appears to be conservative when election time approaches. I’m sure that the other 5 are just like this creep and we need to know who they are.

    • just me

There were 6 “Republicans” and one independent that voted against S. J. Res. 27. They are as follows:
      Lamar Alexander R-TN
      Kelly Ayotte R-NH
      Scott Brown R-MA
      Susan Collins R-ME
      Mark Kirk R-IL
      Olympia Snowe R-ME
      Bernie Sanders I-IL

There is absolutely no surprise on these votes. We can only hope that the constituents of these RINOs will see the light at the next election cycle for each of them.

    • Roy

Some of those names can be found in this article. It’s traitors like these that are helping to keep unemployment high.
      Vote these clowns out ASAP!

    • Roy

Ooooooops! Some of those names can be found in this article. Vote these clowns out ASAP!

    • karol

One was Lamar Alexander. I was angry until I read his reason. The Great Smoky Mountains national park air is very polluted. The pollution comes, primarily, from North Carolina plants across the mountains. Tennessee has tried for years to get them to lower the pollution. Alexander stated that he doesn’t want to see them called “The Smoggy Mountains” so he voted with the democrats.

    • Terrylee Dembowski

      BROWN- MA.

    • Frank

Bobby has good point, he is a idiot too. You think EPA is about clean streams and clean air. No it’s turned into a agency that controls who can be a winner or loser Right now every American losing because of ignorant thinking just like yours. Wake up bobby or is it booby.

    • Rhoda64

I will find out who they are and in fact I am just about positive I know some of them. Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Scott Brown, Lisa Murkowski, and possibly Lugar. I’m not sure of the other 2 but I will make sure that these are the ones that voted for this EPA crap. I have four email addresses for the above names and if they and the other ones who I think they are I will get the other two email addresses and will send them an email and let have it. These people with the Democrats are trying to bankrupt our country and make our wonderful country a Islamic Radical Muslim Communist country which will also be an American Holocaust country. That is the reason we have to do everything in our power to make sure that they get impeached, resign, or do not vote them in the next election time. Call and worry the WH to death. They need to know that the American people will not stand for what they are trying to do to us and we are their employer and they act like we are their prisoners and they will put every bit of money on our backs to pay and I am sick and tired of these evil people and what they are and have done to us.

  • silverscribler

So when are we going to get rid of these idiots and free up American energy.

    • http://mozilla Robert E. Lee

when we get rid of the liberal mindset of the east and west coast.

      • B. E. Taylor

That’s assuming that li-ber-als even have a MIND! The way I see it, the jury is STILL OUT ON THAT ONE!!!!!

      • Bob

Just my opinion……….but I believe it’s going to be really hard to ever get rid of this bunch of radicals. Just think back to the ’08 election….of the people who voted, Omaggot got 52% of the vote. He scarred me before the election and if no other comment he made than the one to Joe ‘the plumber’ when he said he just wanted to ‘spread the wealth around a little!’ should have told anybody with just a little knowledge of how our great nation was founded and is run that this guy is a communist/marxist supreme. When 52% of the voters elected this scumbag, it told me that the dumbing down of America is coming along just fine!! If the EPA was serious about cleaning up polution, they should start in the public schools. This dumbing down process has been going on for more than 50 years and if ever a bright light was shined on their success, it was in the ’08 election. We’re approximately 3 generations deep into this process and if you really want to see how well it’s working just watch and listen to the ‘occupy wall street’ crowd. If ignorance was ever on display, then this is classic!!!

    • Eddie G.

Silverscribler: The answer to your question is when they’re up for re-election. The most powerful voice in America is not that of the Senate or any segment of government,it’s the VOTE of the citizen! Use it to throw long termers out and especially RINOS along with the Dummycrats. We can do this. We did it in 2010 and we can do it again. The EPA is a dud and I’m tired of paying 50 bucks to fill up my wheezing old Chevy. The EPA needs to be junked and the congress isn’t listening. It’s up to the voters. Joe Munchkin (D) of West VA comes from coal mining country and he betrayed his own people to go along with the Oboy/Dummycrat party line of war against coal. But those diehard Dummycrat voters in West VA got what they voted for and cut their own throat. Ditto with Bob Byrd. They kept him in office for 200 years and he was the King of Pork. He shoveled a lot of spending into his state for parks, highways, bike trails, and probably a Wal Mart all named after himself. It pays to watch who you vote for this time because the current crop of idiots are destroying this country leaving us with the bill to pay for it,starting with the EPA.

      • harry

you need to go back and read the article eddie, joe manchin voted to go back to the old rules along with 41 republicans, that means he was against obamas epa rule

      • Dingbat36

Usually these people in the senate vote swap……the defectors are usually ones who are NOT vulnerable in an upcoming election…..probably having been re-elected in 2010. Weasels, aren’t they?

      • American Patriot

It is not the American voter that picks the winner. It’s the zionist controlled voting machines!

        • Iron Angel

Eddie, are you serious? Zionest? There are 72 million registered Democrats, 42 million registered as independents, under some other minor party or with a “No Party” designation. Total 169 million out of about 201.5 million who were eligable to vote. And you are telling me that these are all Jews or are controlled by Jews by some kind of voting machine? That’s just ignorant! God said about the Jews, “And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 13:31. I bless the Jews and support them where ever I can…

    • John Looper

Good guess Brad! A good house cleaning will surely include those two idiots!

    • RHSchumann

So true Brad. I’m tired of these two always voting against the American people. I’ve sent tons of emails to them and Michaud too.. It does no good, they do what they want because they have their own agenda! Hopefully come voting time we will prove our agenda to them!

      • http://mozilla Robert E. Lee

what is wrong with the people in New England? that is where our nation started, fleeing suppression and now they are doing the same thing;; that was why the great frontier heroes fled west. The closer to a large metro-plex people live the more likely they are to be libs, they are taught to depend on some one else to provide them with daily services, like unions and large over reaching governments. This country will have to taste the disastrous bile of communism to realize it does not solve problems it exasperates them.

        • harry

what is wrong with new england is the socialists took over the universities. just one example is harvard which was founded as a conservative school that required christian beliefs that now teaches all the socialist principles

        • http://tiscali johnny h

Robert. It will be too late if Americans taste the bile of Communisn.
For Communism never held properelections from 1917 to when USSR was begun to today, where Putin and his medvedev sidekick shre the offices of President and PM between them.
          THAT is Communist “democracy!!

      • John Detwiler

That is true Mayflower Decendent, I also have sent many letters to my Senators and I get replies thanking me for my interest in a particular bill or act. Then they go off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the subject of my concern. I’ts as if with their intelegence they are more capable than me to decide how they should do their job. Once they are in office they are no longer concerned with remembering that they were elected to support their constituency. NOT IGNORE THEM.

        • mew

They are all the same. I wrote one of Colorado’s senators on the fake gun control bill and was told in one paragraph that he supports the 2nd amendment AND we need gun control–to control criminals and crime!!! What an IDIOT!! Dumbocrat of course!!

    • Patriot

Just went out on the net and found this AP article listing the turncoat Repubs – we MUST vote them OUT:

“But six Republicans voted against it, including Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. He said that while the EPA was a fruitful hunting ground for regulatory excess, the cross-state air pollution rule would help prevent the Great Smoky Mountains from becoming the Great Smoggy Mountains.

“This is no solution to a serious problem. It has no chance of succeeding,” Alexander said. “The only reason for it is a political message. And what kind of message is it? That we favor dirty air blowing from Kentucky into Tennessee. That we favor not doing our job, turning it back to bureaucrats, lawyers, uncertainty, delay?”

He was joined by GOP Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and Mark Kirk of Illinois.”

    • Don Michel

Brad-You are right and there are several (but not enough) of us in Maine that would like to get rid of those two. Collins ran on the promise she would only serve two terms (thus the nickname Suzie Two-Terms), but that was long forgotten once she got a whiff of power living.

    • American Patriot

I remember hearing Snows name years ago. She must be older then the Red Sea!!

  • Bob

Not very many it seems realize it is Obama’s plan to bring this country down to a third world country, etc. He is going to do what he, Soros & Company, have planned. He basically lies about everything else. The media, including Fox keep saying he should do this or that which is meaningless but they never say a word about his plan. Hope they wake up.

  • Alfred-King of Wessex

It is beyond belief that we have Democrats in our Congress so willing to create havoc and misery. First, in terms of jobs, this failure to stem the over aggressive EPA will only add to joblessness. Second, Coal is the major source from which we obtain electricity in this nation. Those “Obama dreams” of solar and wind account for about 2% of our needs now., How much sense does it make to kill of coal BEFORE you have alternatives ready to go? I guess this is what Obama meant when he said that under his plans, our electricity bills would ‘skyrocket’. This arrogant and worthless Marxist uses the EPA as an instrument to bring about his poorly thought out actions. Most coal comes from Wyoming and W.Va, states that have been voting Republican. If coal was from a Democrat state, I’m sure he’d ease off. At the same time, Obama just blocked a pipeline to bring Canadian oil down to the US. His attacks on fossil fuels will soon lead to a major crisis in this nation……and this will be a severe crisis of our own making, due to sheer stupidity.

    • PatriotBob

All by design to crush this Nation ………under Obuma!

      • The Big Stasu

Not because of Obama, because of the DEMORATS. They need to be put out of a job. Replace the DEMORATS and let them join the occupy wall street crowd since they support them rather than this country.

      • Sallie

Keep clinging to your guns and religion; you may need them!

        • Fed UP

          we need both now!

          • G Schmidt

The religion and guns NOT going to help you if you died of lung cancer
The EPA rule forces the coal firing plans to clean up emissions by adding pollution controling devices (more jobs for Americans)
This EPA rule was also supported by American Lung Association as it will save millions to billions of dollars in health cost savings.

I have been to China where people walk in cities with masks on because of pollution makes the air poisonous. Is this what you free market, religious, gun toting advocates want for this country?

God gave us this planet to stuart and take care of it, not to plunder and abuse for people’s pleasure and greed.

Those that automatically reacts to everything without a thought are called idiots in my book

SALLY……..obama thru that statement out to insult the people of ( VIRGINIA) i think……….well he did not realize that he was giving us some good advice……we will all be clinging to our GUNS.( don’t forget the bullets though) AND OUR GOD!!!!!!

          • harry

g schmidt there are other power sources that wont spike energy costs to the point people can no longer afford to heat their homes but the democrats fight all attempts to modernize,we haven’t built a nuclear plant since the 70s. it is clean efficient and safe,it even survived a serious earthquake and tsunami without dangerous levels of radiation

          • G Schmidt

Coal firing plants just have to clean their emissions (of course that will affect their profits and quarterly bonus so they are not happy)

There is natural gas, it is clean burning The US have the largest reserves known.

Nuclear is fine, as long as it is not done in an earthquake zone. I live in Florida, fairly close to one, and I am not worried.

The country should invest in generating electricity from garbage or from biofuels efficiently and cleanly.
Who knows, maybe a few billions invested now can set up our next industry of growth for our country’s future

          • American Patriot

            @G Schmidt,
Farmland used to produce for Bio fuels take away acres that should be used for food. Wind, solar and hydro are better options. I believe we should use ocean tides too. They’ll be there to the end of time. A lot of clean energy there not being used.
Nuclear is OK but the spent fuel rods are a serious problem. In time they could prove to be the end of humanity.

      • http://n/a Jim

Obama is fulfilling his campaign promise to shut-down the coal industry.
He proclaimed it up front for the benefit of obtaining the environmentalists vote. Now he is accomplishing same. The troubling part is the control he has over the beurocracy that does his bidding!

Coal: I used to work with power plants, and in the 1980s, every plant was fitted with a scrubber in its chimneys.
Residue smoke went up the chimney, and the emissions were “scrubbed” clean even then.
the then environmental guys (From State, not Fed) always recorded a table so that we could tell where remedial work was needed. Those records could still be in someones office…Sorry, I forgot the Feds do not want records to peove what they are about is BS!!
If we use modern day scrubbing techniques clean air is a given.
          Remember city fogs in LA?
Industry in the late 70s addressed the output of pollutants, now the city is “Clean”!
NO NEED FOE EPA if we revert to State controls.
Thing is these “Green” people take in any old BS, then quote it back as FACT!
Also, NONE of these people have ever worked in the industry as well as the politicians.
Soon we will have NO coal power stations, NO gas fired power stations, we will beging to run down those “nasty” nuclear stations, and bingo!! NO POWER GENERATION!!
When Washington is out of light and power, mebbee the politicians and the crats will bring in rukles about burning wood!!

        • harry

g schmidt you are incorrect about clean coal reducing the amount of profit producers make. they will maintain a certain profit margin which means utility bills will go up. like obama said: energy bills will necessarily skyrocket. if you go back a few years to do some research you will find that obama gave a speech to the san francisco chamber of commerce in which he said he would like to see gas at $9.00 per gallon his energy czar shortly after appointment said $10.00 per gallon.if he is reelected watch out he is out to destroy our country

    • Stealth

Totally True A. K of E! But you see…people ( in general these days ) have LOST their ‘common sense’… My own wife and myself have split up because she’s a ‘wishy washy’ WON’T TAKE A STAND person. Of the DOZENS of things we argue about..she JUST DOESN’T GET that if you DESTROY the COAL INDUSTRY… we have blackouts just like a 3rd world nation! You see…. she’s become one of the MANY brainwashed ‘idiots’ who will ( turn their own family in ) one day like they did in Germany many, many years ago! So, I’d rather be alone to fight the good fight if and when it starts…

    • Mayflower Decendent

Alfred King of Wessex…… King Alfred the Great is in my geneology as well as Stephen Hopkins and Nicholas Snow from the Mayflower:)

    • Darryl Hanson

Not stupdity Alfred-King. It is a plot headed by the puppet master, George Soros, to bring this country down. His puppet is the Marxist in the WH, Obama

    • G Schmidt

The real Alfred the Great was a great proponent of education and knowledge and was willing to deal with his enemies the danes, to obtain peace and harmony for England.

You sound pretty narrow minded to me. That EPA rule has been in the book for decades and let us face it….coal burning is dirty and polluting and the only thing plants have to do is install scrubbers and clean up their emissions.

Move to China and breath their air if you like coal so much, after all, Who need lungs anyway?

      • RHSchumann

I like your responses. A voice of reason in the wildernes of the Cowboy Byte jungle. I am surprised they haven’t blocked you out yet.

      • Grizz Mann

G, the Chinese regulate their emissions. that is what happens in a free society . Government control of building an fueling for the needs of the people. oh, forgot china is still communist. Sorry!

    • Straight Talker

What do you expect when obumass is totally out to distroy this country. The EPA is a force and a disgrace and where in the Constitution dose it give them authority to make laws.

  • Richard Vandervort

How do we put it in simple terms the explain it? If it’s good for the people and would surely save job’s that’s something we just can’t have.
F it seems to be the word of the day as long as the liberals get their way so the BS on job creation and retaining job’s is truly just BS.

    • Cathy

The unions were strongly supporting this pipeline as they felt it would create thousands of good-paying jobs. I’m not a union supporter, but it looks like Obama has hosed them, too. I know union people who are not going to vote for him. They voted for him before, but they will not do it again as they see him as a job killer. Let’s all stand together and put Obama out of office in 2012. It is our only chance to survive, and even then I’m not sure we can survive another year of his policies and ineptitude.

      • Colonel Joe

I am sure there are several union members, but not millions, who will not vote for Obozo. Unfortunately, it isn’t the union members that matter. As long as the union LEADERSHIP has control of the money, they will support Obozo. And in turn, Obozo will continue to launder a lot of that money back to the union bosses who are living at a standard, I guarantee you, is “on the mountain overlooking the peon members in the valley”! As long as you have money involved, you’ll have corruption; the more money the more corruption at an exponential rate! The people of WVa, a coal mining state, overwhelmingly have voted for democrats for years and got their “Byrdshit” deposited all over the state. Trumpka, head of the United Mine Workers is probably THE consumate thug and now controls AFL-CIO in the same thug infested manner. No, as long as people choose to be “useful idiots” and cling to the socialist state ideaology, the situation is not going to change. God bless those few union members you know who have awakened; now they need to convince thousands more to do likewise!

        • steve

          Until there is a CERTAIN

          • steve

Until there is a CERTAIN 25 to life sentence for corruption we’ll have corruption whether money is involved or not. Tolerance for corruption gets us the same thing tolerance for roaches gets us, MORE OF THEM.

        • American Patriot

Unions are a joke. In over 60 years of working hard I never belonged to one and always had more work then I could do. I am self employed.

        • http://tiscali johnny h

          Right on Colonel Joe!!

      • comsense08

And not just Obama. His czars have to go, half his cabinet, Nancy, Harry, Joint Chiefs of staff, EPA, Department of Ed, Energy Dept….. you get the point. Wouldn’t hurt to clean out biased media either! That’s up to us. Maybe we should “Occupy Media”. They seem to like the method!

Cathy, Communist Obama is trying to have it both ways. He wants to please both, the union and the environmentalist. He did this hen he delayed this project until after 2012 thinking would may be back in office again. Let’s all work hard to make sure thie commie is now back in office again. Their is a group of folks out in San Diego that wants Obama Impeached also. You can read about it here: on WND.

  • Chuck954

It seems these IDIOT haven’t learned a thing in the past few years.
They hitched a ride on the DEM EXPRESS to Socialism

    • Alvin

Chuck, you and several others seem to miss the point. These IDIOTS in DC [all who oppose freeing up entergy, etc] are doing EXACTLY what they WANT to do, have been told they MUST do – bring the USA down!

Chuck they have worked long to bring communism to this country. Now they are out in the open, because all our children have been taught in school that we have made a mess out of the worlds air and water.

  • Doug

Cap and Trade in wolfs clothing. Taxation with forced representation…the King and I (Senate)! If Americans had representation in Washington we would see changes we could all believe in…but so far all we have seen is lip service by just about everyone working in DC. We have seen various department heads refuse to honor the Law…when called before a committee! The example they in Washington have shown has lead to average Americans not showing up for jury duty causing a large decline in our court system….and if it continues..we have truly lost the battle for a free America!

  • Michael J. Marsalek

The U.S. government spends money on what it wants rather than what it needs. Consider that
911 could easily have been prevented and the invasion if Iraq was completely unjustified. The invasions and occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq were unnecessary and a waste of a trillion dollars. A trillion dollars buys a lot of clean coal technology.

    • Basil BuddhaCat

No doubt many of the simpletons here blame Obama for the invasion of Iraq – as well as the economic meltdown of August 2008, increased gas prices (the same price as when he took office – although the price tripled during the eight years GWB was president), etc. etc.

Well, after all – they still can’t accept the fact that an American born mixed-race person could be elected by a landslide, including a good portion of the white American vote – over a pretty decent guy named John McCain.

      • The Big Stasu

Since you brought race into the equation, I don’t think the white voters will make that mistake again. Oh, and I also think any educated minority voter will not vote along the BS race line. The minorities need to wake up and realize the DEMORATS are holding them down. Keep ‘em stupid and they will keep voting for the DEMORATS.

      • RHSchumann

        Right on, both of you!

      • dntmkmecomoverther

You conveniently neglected the fact that when Bush left office in 2008 gas was $1.80 a gallon. Now it’s $3.50.
You conveniently neglected to mention that not only has obummer have us remaining in Iraq, but he escalated our involvement in Afghanistan…Oh, and you left out that he sent us into Libya, Syria, Egypt and Sudan.(yeah, we get the picture).

Whether the current occupier of WH is American born remains a mystery because said occupier has spent almost 8 million dollars to mask that truth; why would he do that if his eligibility was legitimate? Every attempt by congress, any senator, any entity, has been met with legal challenges unprecedented in US history. We can’t even look at his college transcripts. (I had to show my college transcripts to apply for every job I ever applied for!!).

This charlatan is not what nor who you want to believe him to be. He is a usurper and fraud at best. At worst, he is the enemy of our Republic from within; the very traitor our forefathers warned us of.

        • LesPaul

I could not have said it any better!

        • comsense08

Can’t believe some people still defend and support obama. Makes you wonder what kind of person they, what they imagine America should be, and most of all, what part of that new America they envision themselves to be!! Everyone thinks socialism will be europhic. If it’s so great, why isn’t half of Europe, China and Russia just like heaven? Hm??? No, it will be just like their education system. We can’t have anyone stand out and be exceptional, they all have to be the same, and when you do that, the only result you will ever get is everyone has to be the same as the least! So, in socailism, and their stinking “fairness”, everyone will be equal all right. We will all be equal to the poorest, slowest, worthless person, so that we “don’t offend”. Oh, and the uber rich who have to control the masses!

          • Charles F Neukam

They are the people that needs their held where ever they go. People that despise our milatary & the freedom they provide us, the nut jobs who don’t know how to work with large corporations so product are better for the enviroment, rather have them shut down so we lose our jobs to foreign compettors. But we could also blame the corparations with the money to pay for lobbist inthe congress. But this president is the most agrressive indestroying this country

        • Robert

Hey, [I like your handle, like don’t let me come over there if going to correct the kids, ha]: you did not completely make the reference to public enemy #1, the obummer, to our Country. Since the 2008 bum’s rush to our Country, the so-called pre-(s)election funded by the soros underground and foreign muslim wealth, did everyone notice [ovbiously not] that every time obummer opens his mouth about what the Republicans are doing “against” the U.S., bummer himself already pushes his destructive agenda of sabotage to our Country in EXACTLY the way he accuses [falsely, of course] the Republicans of doing. bummer is total HYPOCRISY and LIES. his long-planned conspiracy to destroy our Country [not his]…he goes to bed every night laughing his head off with the success of each ruinous day he has completed against the United States, and plans many more. Yet the fools who voted for him are still deluded and mezmerized with the impostor preacher who only CAMPAIGNS, never leads. AND, BAMMACARE…the impostor in chief whined about all those “poor” without health insurance…hey, that was not more than 8 to 10% of the population…yet in the BOMANATION ruse of BAMMACARE unnecessarily upturned the WHOLE population, and screws many more sectors of our economy that have NOTHING to do with healthcare and is a total smokescreen with more ways to tax us taxapayers [you know, the 53% of the legal citizens]. ENOUGH of the socialist bummer, his BADMINISTRATION, and thugs !

          • G Schmidt

            308 camo
You will not acknowledge a fact if it comes and kick you in the face…..As long as Saddam was in Iraq, there was no Al’Queida. The moment we were over there, it was a great opportunity for them to recruit more people to hate Americans (Oh why do they hate us? Maybe because we bombed their cities, power plants and bridges in an effort to “liberate them”) Saddam was a bad guy, but the US really screw up that country and ourselves in the process

We put good men at risk for misguided reasons (Iraquis are not grateful to the US and the country will probably become Iran’s peon in a couple of years) we lost over 4000, many more lost limbs and sanity and our treasure was wasted there as well and you guys continue to bitch about birth certificates and college transcripts?

There are a lot of windbags currently moaning about communist and marxist in this web site know nothing about it.
You call me a liberal, but I actually spend time (2 years) in an “educational farm” as punishment for fighting real communists in my country of birth, Cuba. From there I escape to Spain and lived under Francisco Franco (so I also know what Facism looks like as well)

Maybe, because I actually lived what you guys are
so fixated about, I know that this country biggest danger are not communists, or socialists or indian chiefs

The US biggest danger is the power of money and corporations and their influence in our political system as well as the influence of the Israel’s lobby in the way we conduct our international diplomacy.

You go ahead and keep talking about guns, revolutions, armaggedom and all those things you know nothing about
It is all BS and hot air from my point of view

        • G Schmidt

Not quite correct. Yes in December of 2008 gas price went down in price (proof that Republicans can control the Oil Industry for election sake, but prices were real high the rest of the year. Clic on the link below to see the real story

Obama inherit it Iraq and Afghanistan from Bush baby.
Lybia was done “on the cheap”…a great sample of how we are to operate in the future instead of wasting lives, treasure and goodwill sending soldier everywhere

Syria, Egypt and Sudan…..when did we sent troops there?
I must have miss that occurrance in the news.
Did FOX “news” have discover any information we regular people do not know about??

          • American Patriot

            @G Schmidt,
We go wherever the barbaric jew terrorists send us. Now they want us to bomb Iran.

          • 308 camo

all your doing is spewing sewage from your liberal mouth, you don’t think we need to go after the enemy where they live you just want to hide in a corner some where, let me give you a wake up call you cant hide in your own country because they will find you, i quess all the moronic lib’s forgot what Bin Laden did to us on 9/11 you see we either kill them there or they will kill us here, bottom line. oh i forgot that’s right the dumb ass lib’s say our own government blew up those buildings

          • harry

g schmidt before you say too much about how great your leader is take a good look at what he has done. he is pulling all of our troops out of iraq knowing that once we are gone iran will move in to take control. bush sent troops to afghanistan and cleaned things up quickly and left troops there to keep things under control rather than fight on two fronts, obama escalated the war at a great cost of lives and wants to pull out with the taliban poised to assume control. he sent aid to egypt to overthrow mubarrak who was a friend of ours and israels so the muslim brotherhood could take control. he sends our pilots to libya under un control to oust a dictator who was no threat to us so they can now fly the libyan flag and al qaeda flag together. his director of the va cemetary in houston says there will be no reference to god or jesus on the grounds. if christians aren’t allowed to have god at a funeral why can we spend billions building and remodeling mosques around the world. it is past time for these libs to go

        • RHSchumann

Where are you getting your information?
          1. Gas prices in 2008 were low because the country was in a deep depression, brought on by Bush.
          2. Obama is getting us out of Iraq at year’s end and as a result is being viciously attacked by the neocons.
          3. He handled Libya brilliantly. NATO handled it, we supported NATO. Costs were low and we didn’t lose one soldier. And it looks like a success.
          4. Perhaps I missed it, but we did not invade Egypt, Sudan or Syria.
          5. I also wished that he would end the futile war in Afghanistan. Did he start it?
          6. What is your source that he spent 8 Million Dollars to hide his place of birth? The urban myth that he was born in Kenya has been disproven a long time ago.

      • Big Don

Hey Basil, Why is it that liberals have a child mentality when it comes to responsibility? They never accept blame for anything they do. They think their right about everything. They blamed President Bush for everything that happened on his watch, even Katrina. But they don’t think anything was carried over from the Clinton administration, like not taking Osama Bin Laden when the offer came. Hmmmmmm, you think 911 may not have happened if he had? Naaaaaaah, no responsibility there. Now Obama has nearly wrecked this countries economy, put more people out of work, spent more money than any five Presidents in history and has trashed the U.S. Constitution. He rules by tsars to get around congress, which is unconstitutional, and poor little empty headed robots like you say that Americans can’t accept a mixed-race, American born person to be elected by a landslide. Does it seem strange to you that Obama has spent millions of dollars and shown birth certificates that have been forged? By the way, that is a felony that you or I would go to prison for, not to mention perjury. I could go on and on with this but what’s the purpose when you and others like you will continue to do your duty to let this man steal you blind and laugh at you for being so ignorant of the truth. Tell me just one thing, Do you really not understand what’s happening or do you believe that America has to be punished for being so prosperous and feeding the world, as Obama and all of his felonious associates? You should love America and freedom that has been paid for with blood. Obama hates America.

And we thought it was so great when Scott Brown was elected. Another RINO.

Not at all. These are the only ones with a conscience.

Mass voters WILL NEVER elect an ACTUAL* Conservative republican. If they’re from massachussetts and there’s an “R” next to their name it’s a BS “R”. This is why Romney MUST NOT WIN THE PRIMARY, he MUST NOT WIN. He flip flops CONSTANTLY. Go to utube and watch “liberal Mitts greatest hits”. Do it right now.

        * One who ALWAYS votes like a Conservative republican.

      • CapeCodCharlie

We pushed for Scott Brown to beat the damn Dem and then hoped !!!!!
Now we need a strong conservative Republican to run against him in the primaries that can also take the full election. We are living in liberal heaven just 5 miles from the Kennedy Compound. Someone please send us a Conservative Republican to the White House.

        • harry

cape cod charlie,i like your dream. i’m originally from nashua,nh and you know as well as i do that a conservative can’t win in ma. look at the job they have done ruining nh. it was always a conservative state until massholes started moving up to escape their high taxes. i would be surprised if nh could elect another good governor like mel thomson or john sununu. yes the same sununu who was the first bushes chief of staff until the media decide they don’t like him. gov king, the first dem to be gov in 100 years made a mess of the state and john campaigned no new taxes. king said he was either a fool or a liar. john won and got to work on his computer and with no new taxes after one term had biggest budget surplus in state history.this is the type of leader we need, help the voters find them

      • http://conservativebyte Frank J.

Scott brown turned out to be a turd rino. I got bad vibes off of his silly and embarrasing acceptance speech. From now on i will go with my gut feelings.

      • charlie buck

JACK- i am afraid i was not elated with BROWNS election. i know that there are many true repubs in mass. they are still in love with the DEAD kennadys! if he was a true conservative he would not have been elected! but i am still disappointed that he has the chance to see the light and will not look up!

    • Wayne

I don’t see any Senators in my state on this list so I won’t need to vote against any anyone.

  • Ron Teidel

Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. He said that while the Environmental Protection Agency was a fruitful hunting ground for regulatory excess, the cross-state air pollution rule would help prevent the Great Smoky Mountains from becoming the Great Smoggy Mountains.

Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, and Mark Kirk of Illinois.

The technology to have cleaner coal firing plants has been around for a long time. By forcing the coal industry to clean up their act their costs will go up. And these will be passed on to consumers. Or are they afraid that it will hurt their bottom line? That’s the price we have to pay for cleaner air. The argument that this meassure causes job losses is therefore nonsense. Some coal companies in the past were willing to do the right thing and were at a disadvantage. Now the playing field is leveled again.
Good for the Senate and especially the Republicans who crossed party lines.
Polluted air may mean a better bottom line for power companies but it also causes numerous health problems which are born by the public and the victims. About time Indistry does the Christian thing. Aren’t we a Christian nation?

    • RHSchumann

Why is this still pending moderation after almost 24 hours?

  • mjnellett

The Senate PROGRESSIVES along with a couple of RINO PROGRESSIVES have once again proven what hypocrites they are. Obama is screaming that Republicans are obstructing his “JOBS” bill (in reality a union pay-back raise your taxes bill) while Senate Democrats are putting more and more people OUT of work?

Here are some facts people: Obama has put tens of thousands of Americans OUT of work along the Gulf of Mexico because of an OVER Exaggerated oil spill. His EPA is putting THOUSANDS more out of work in the coal industry because of their ” impossible to meet air quality standards”yet there is NO VIABLE technology to take the place of coal. Obama is going to royally screw the very MIDDLE CLASS that he holds up as being the ones who need the most breaks. His self fulfilling prophecy of “energy prices necessarily (actually UNNECESSARILY skyrocketing ) is going to put a MAJOR hurt on the budgets of those struggling now! 20,000 American good paying jobs just went out the window because Obama politically caved to the enviro-facists movement on the Keystone Pipeline project. A place, by the way, that already had over 2,500 miles of pipeline operating already! What is he going to replace the energy loss to us with? He even went against his beloved unions on this one!
I hope the Latinos, Blacks, and Tree Huggers enjoy this winter as Obama’s crusade against “fossil fuel energy” continues. I’m sure Obama will find a way to keep your electricityon and yourself warm ( without burning ANY fossil fuels. By the way, that includes no fuel oil, no natural gas, no wood, no manure, no propane, no diesel, no gasoline, no methane gas, or any other organic fuel that you can think of. Happy Holiday everyone…..stay warm!

    • dntmkmecomoverther

I agree with all you wrote; it boils down to this question: What are we willing to do to change the course of this Republic? We have just under a year till the next national election…what are we willing to do? Unless our dedication of will is higher than the obstacle in front of us, the answer will be ‘nothing’ and we will succumb to the enemies of freedom and this Republic.

However, if the answer is, ‘Whatever it takes’, then we must cast off all that impedes or dissuades us (like sports, TV, and all the lovely pass time ventures that distract us) and get into the politics that get people elected who will reform our great Republic. No longer can we afford to ‘sit by’ and wait for ‘others’ to do the jobs we are to fulfill in electing good people to public office AND hold them accountable to us.

For far too long, the conservatives have quietly lived and put up with the constant push toward socialism and fascism by the ‘progressives’. This election cycle is likely the last time we can watch idly by the sidelines; waiting once again for ‘another chance’…for if we fail to change the course of this nation by this next election, we will have successfully jettisoned our freedoms, our culture and our very foundations…never to be recovered again. Our acquiescence to the marxists will be complete.

      • ken

So so true! “All that is needed to loose our freedoms is for good people to do NOTHING”!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you 100% live in Texas and the oil field workers will dry up, if i knew how i’d start an impeach process for our security. We do not the resouces to defend our country in case of war, and now we depend on Obamas muslins in the middle east and buddy George Soros which he gave $2billion for oil drilling in Africa and sent troops in protect his oil fields.

    • harry

he already cost thousands of jobs when he said no drilling in gulf. he created plenty for mexico though when he gave them money to drill in the same gulf he tells us is a bad idea

2012 Clean out the Senate and abolish the EPA and rescind all regulations.
Let the States take care of their own.

    • 4dees

AMEN!!! Cleaning out the Senate, keeping the House and definitely cleaning out the White House is the only hope for this country.

      • Mike Travis

Our Constitution is being destroyed. Voting Obama out is NOT the solution for it allows him to go down in history as a valid POTUS. He must be charged with treason for fraudulently claiming to be a natural born citizen or a major portion of our Constitution will have been erased by an illegal act of Obama along with a complicit and criminal congress.

    • Wayne

I blieve we can do that by electing either Newt Ginrich, or Herman Can.

      • charlie buck

WAYNE- it will be a step in the right direction-but will not fix every thing! we need to give them some help by electing the RIGHT congess!

wayne, check cains old articles instead of what he says. in 2005 he wrote there is no housing crisis,in 2008 he said no banking crisis (it was only two months later that lehman bros filed bankruptcy), he supported tarp-he said this rquires unprecedented action,he said china will soon have nuclear capabilities-this is something they have had for years. is this the kind of vision you want in your next president. on his talk show he said he is a supporter of the fair tax now he says 999. i think 9%corporate tax would be a good thing for the economy but 9% income tax would be a huge break for the rich like himself but a burden on the couple with two children struggling to get by on 15000. how about the burden of 9%sales tax in addition to all of your state taxes, this includes food which is now exempt in most states but wont be under his plan. with no record to check all you can do is go back to statements before he decided to run. remember,if you listen to romney he sounds like a good conservative,if you check his record you see that he is a liberal.he helped mess up ma so much that none of his four house are there, one is next door in nh. do you really think cain cant be doing the same thing.

According to the oecking order of government
      1. city or locallity
      2. county
      3. STATE
      4. feds

We have let our constitutional rights be usurped by the Feds one bill at a time. If the states would get some backbone, as a few are starting to do, as in Arizona, this country can get back on track–one state at a time. BUT we have to get rid of welfare, etc to do it because people love free food (that is paid for by the very people who Obama hates the most–middle class WORKING people)

      • mew

PECKING order, sorry about the mispelling!!

Those in the coal industry haven”t donated the required amount to the DNC and are being punished by the air heads. The real problem is we have to many politicians relatives that have had every ounce of common sense out of them – can’t hold a job and so they’re given a useless government job.
Maybe we could take up a collectio and buy these guys a checker board so they’ll have something to occupy their time. Oh wait —then we’d need a third grade volunteer to teach them how the game is played. DARN!!!

  • Rob

No new coal plants and in fact reductions in the #’s of them, they don’t want nukes, they’re taking down hydro electric plants over environmental concerns, they don’t want to damage the landscape of Colorado and Wyoming to get the shale coal, and the administration has a ban on Gulf drilling and Alaska is out. The solar fiasco isn’t shaking out either as is plain for all to see. I don’t see a good ending to this situation.

  • Daniel Burke

How many of those supposedly “green” electric cars are actually being fueled by COAL if you follow the electric path back to the source of the power?

Let’s start calling them what they really are “COAL CARS.”

    • American Patriot

The greenies and liberals don’t know that. They just believe the electricity comes out of a wire.

  • ReaperHD

Democrats and Rhinos putting more Americans out of work and will now blame the republicans…….How’s all the oil rig workers on the gulf doing since Bin Bama put you Americans out of work and gave Billions to Brazil and Mexico to drill in the Gulf……

  • CAllenDoudna

Welp, that shuts down nearly all the power plants for several hundred miles. We’re left with a couple of nuke plants near Omaha and three hydro-electric plants out toward North Platte.

Oh, yeah, the wind, when it blows–5 mph today, 50 mph tomorrow–very different levels of electricity. And did you know the EPA considers batteries toxic waste? Did you know that makes them a lot more expenssive to dispose of? Did you know batteries have to be replaced after a thousand charges–which is three years–and then you have to buy new ones. This “free” wind or solar is going to wind up costing ten times what coal-fired plants cost us.

    • freescot

They really do not care…these people who originate these laws and lobby for them are already RICH…whether they pay .09 cents a kilowatt or .90 cents doesn’t bother them.
I am so tired of our politicians from Obama on down saying how “we” should all shoulder the burden of our finances in this country when it wasn’t “us” who got us in this current situation…decades and decades of reckless. irresponsible, uncontrolled spending.

  • Fred Goodspeed

It would be interesting to hear the reasons why these 6 Republicans went against the grain. Most are from States that will surely see sub freezing winter temperatures. They ALL need to be ousted from the Senate.

  • Rebel

Maybe you should take a look at this:

  • Pat

we need to clean house in our gov & get rid of all of them & start from scratch, warned people from the start that scott brown was not going to be who they thought & again I was correct & as for an electorate that votes for these kinds of people including ovomit, goes to show you how dumbed down we have become & many people do not care & get involved & study what is going on so they vote for anything & this is what we get. God help America please

  • Jim

Folks, we need to get Newt Gingrich into the office of the President of the United States. He has repeatedly stated he would abolish the EPA as one of his first acts when he is elected. He makes more sense than all the other candidates combined. Please click on this link and listen to what he has to say.
I am 75 years old and have followed politics closely since I became a conservative Republican after Lynden Johnson’s term and I believe Newt is the only real true Republican since Ronald Reagan. Please listen to these videos. We owe it to our grandchildren to make a real change,-to vote for Newt and get America back to it’s status of world leader and home of the free and brave.

  • Thomas Trombold

I really like D West Va. Rockefeller- really looking out for his people wouldn’t you say. Then Sen Landrieu (DLA) jumps right in there and doesn’t support usable energy. Do you think it might be time to get people in the Senate that can think and vote for themselves and the good of the country?

  • david

this has really gone on long enough, anyone who actually looks through the data will find co2 was hundreds of times times higher prior to the last glacial age, and thousands of times higher when dinosaurs walked about. the real enemy is the lobbyist whom paid off the voting interests in congtress and the senate. remember the dieing lakes in canada, well, you dont hear much about them cause there the way they are, ecology runs in cycles there, every so many years they can support life, then the system collapses. coal is a requirement to maintain human life, and until coldfusion is 100%, or quantom based bedini motors we should open the system up to put americans back to work.

This is another vote to destroy our great nation as we know it and make us into little communist, economically equals. The only problem is, we will have everyone at a poverty level. I reckon these socilaists and communists in charge of our adminsitration now look forward to handing out the governmental crumbs to their supporters and the re-education or extermination of those of us who refuse to bow down to their attempts at making us full fledge communists. The people who are anti energy have no solutions of their own, they only want to critisize those of us who propose solutions. Anyone who thinks I have extreme views better study history. The examamples are the USSR, tens of millions slaughtered in Stalin’s purges, Communist China, millions slaughtered, SE Asia and the millions slaughtered there, the Nazi’s who were socialists who wanted all to bow down to them and tens of millions were slaughtered, also, and others…. All of these people were slaughtered to make “peoples’ utopia”. The current administration and many of his supporters have extremists views such as this… Anyone who denies this needs to study the history of many of this administration’s supporters and the groups they “run with”.

  • John

The only chance our great nation has is to turn back to God. We must pray, seek His face, repent and then He will heal our land. Our nation is very close to being another Sodom & Gomorrah. The Christians has set back too long and let things happen. It is time we stood up and said, “Enough is enough.” Get behind us Satan, we are taking our country back. We have been laid back and fishing too long. We need to put down our poles and follow Him. In 2nd Chronicles 7:14 He said, . if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Senator Manchin, (WV), is a champion of the people here in WV. I have been following his voting since he took the office. On the other hand, Senator Rockefeller is a turncoat to the people of WV, not representing the people of his state in any way, and slap up in the policies of the Obama administration and the liberal Democrat ways. I hope he retires soon and just maybe we can get someone who is looking out for our interest at home.

I’m just fed up with the whole mess were in, this is without a doubt the worse I’ve ever seen or been in, in the 69 years of my life. I can’t believe the direct opposite we all have become. BUT when one considers the issues that we are in with our president and the Muslim people living in our great FREE America these issues are just a small part of what is ahead of us in the near future. Bad enough our economy is down the drain were now turning our Christian and believing in God as it were a joke! BUT NOT to the Muslims this is just the tip of the ice burg. There are MILLIONS of them living here, and they ALL stick together, just like when we were strong PATRIOTS, but NOT anymore. Our government has been screwing us for many years, and it’s got to the point of self-destruction. When our president put a hold on our cost of living rises on Social Security income that WE paid into!! Than the government gave themselves a RAISE!!— I WANT TO THROW UP!! What a joke!! What did we do? NADA, nothing. When the government threw a party for themselves and the price of a muffin was paid $16.00 for each muffin, and that’s with our own TAX PAYERS money. You people in NEW YORK are protesting for whom? For what? Don’t you very intelligent people know it’s our government putting you down? How can a country in debt up to our eyeballs give to other country’s billions of OUR money to help out country’s that HATE US, while you’re protesting other issues that don’t come close to the BILLIONS of dollars that our president is given away, for WHAT? So he can become the King of the world. America it’s all B.S. Get him out. Start all over again, these people work for us, remember that. This election is going to be a hard won fought because there is going to be FRAUD, hundreds of thousands of illegal votes, that alone is hurting us true Americans. MONEY $$$$$$$ MONEY big ZARS will be pushing more people on turn coat votes. We lose this time WE ALL LOSE EVERYTHING. You can count on it. We’ve become a money, greedy, back stabbing, and dis loyal to our friends, and to our country. Where can you find true PATRIOTS? Yes, our fighting young men and women giving up their lives for our freedom. I honor them!! Not the few so called Americans that are urinating on our American flag, creating havoc in the streets. I want to see one true Politian put our America before the greed of MONEY!! Name me one of today. We allowed all the big corporations to leave there home grown business’s to go overseas and leave us with a big hole in the ground with hundreds of thousands of hard working people out of JOBS!! What a joke, the president wants to create jobs but he sends a couple of our corporations overseas and says it so nicely. You want our great land to become prosperous again? GET them back here, before there is NO MORE here!!

The six pretend republicans voted to have our electricity bills “skyrocket.” We need to remember this. The jerks have high quality health care for life ample retirement benefits for life, on-going perks now and yet they vote to put the rest of for us into dire financial straits.

    Ayotte of New Hampshire
    Brown of Massachusetts
    Collins of Maine

We need term limits and we, the American people, ned to vote on their salaries and benefits. They might looks at things differently if they had to live in the real world and make an HONEST living.

RINO is a misleading term. These are east coast Republicans and they are Liberals. Scrap the term Rino because Republican and Conservative are not synonymous. North East coast politicians are almost always leftists regardless of party lable.

We need to get the right people in place to change the rules they abide by. Only 12 yrs. combined public office. They are governed by the same laws they make for us. They shall not be excluded from insider trading laws. They must have had a job in the private sector , AND return to it after service. There shall be no life time ritirement benifit and no special health care benifit. And last but not least! There pay is controlled by the people and their performance as a whole. I know this is dreaming but we can do it just like the Commy’s (a little at a time)

  • Charley

Don’t bet that people will not vote for Obama just because they know he is anti-American!
Does anyone out there believe that there was a person in this nation that didn’t know what Obama’s Preacher of 20+ years: The man who baptized both his daughters: (Jerimiah White), (The Jeriahmiah White who blamed the people that were killed in the Twin Towers), for the hatered of the Moslems?
No!!! Americans, Many Americans, Voted for this man that sat in that “Hate America” atmosphere”, & was able to play upon American Guilt!!!
With that stain on our conciencence, who can predict that American’s will not, again drop the ball & lose the Greatest Nation the world has ever seen?

CHARLEY…..why do you think he is encouraging the OCCU-PEE and the DEMO-CRAPS protests …….he knows that he is down in the polls and this is how he is rebuilding his re-election……He only supports the people in all unfairness and dirty deeds because he can mind manipulate them and he gets their vote…….. I SURE HOPE THAT WE HAVE A CHANCE……..GOD IN HEAVEN WE PRAY TO YO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • charlie buck

SHIRLEY- he is down in the polls-but NOT enough for the way he has treated this country! he shoukd have 100% DISAPPROVAL if ALL the people in this country were TRUE AMERICANS which they ARE NOT! wake up america and see where we are headed and very fast!!

  • Da Ramblerman

The only way to get the head muslim out is via impeachment. This has to be done by the house. Since both parties are heading for the same goal, domination of the North American continent I would say it aint gonna happen.

Mike Travis, you are exactly right. This so called President, is accomplishing exactly what THEY went after in the beginning. Obummer needs to be put out of business, NOW…. If we vote him out, THEY have still accomplished what THEY wanted to… I would not have believed what is happening today… The Republicans are setting by and letting this guy do this…

How long are the American people going to put up with this ???

    Dear God help us….

They will make West Virginia a permenant welfare recipient! But I’m dire that is in the rules for radicals.

  • Packrat

Reply to all: I agree with about 99% of the comments above concerning our nation and the mis management of same. I would like to point out it goes much deeper than the current president and his policies. I think a lot of you good folks are old enough to remember when our schools taught REAL AMERICAN HISTORY, complete with our CONSTITUTION, BILL of RIGHTS and in some cases the FEDERALIST PAPERS. In the not to distant past we have seen our schools infiltrated by the cancer of socialistic teachers, starting with universities, and filtering down to the local public school level. Oh the theory sounds good. They of course fail to mention it was tried here before and failed for the same reasons it always does. Too many users (BUMS) and not enough producers. It ain’t gonna be easy to take our schools back along with putting God back in our lives, no matter what your faith. These are the things our nation was founded on. WE THE PEOPLE have stood idly by and let it happen, perhaps thinking it just couldn’t happen here. The only way, in my opinion, to pump out this overflowing stopped up septic tank
know as Washington D.C. is start locally and rid ourselves of local bums first. This is only a start and it will take a lot of time and effort, but face it folks, it didn’t happen over night.

Let’s get to brass tax, if you live in Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania it is the people of your states that will decide if this disaster of a president is allowed a 2nd term. Understand that the dislike of Obama is extreme, but he can lose the popular vote by a landslide and still become President Obama AGAIN ! NOT JOKING HERE!! Do the electoral math, that is what he and his cronies are doing and that is why he is only going to go to those states repeatedly and is doing it now on all our dimes. People in those states need to get out the vote, appear and protest when he comes to those states, but trust me as bad as I dislike him and millions do, his people are only doing the math, it is going to be up to us to unite against him especially in those states.

    • charlie buck

MC- you hit the nail on the head! most people DONOT know that the PEOPLE DONOT elect the govnt!! the ELECTORIAL COLLEDGE does! and they can vote ANWAY they want!! no law dictates for whom they must vote! scary isnt it!!!

  • Dave

I’m not surprised that Collins, Snowe and Brown voted against this, because they are RINO’s. A fourth voting no, was Alexander, who I think is probably a RINO. The fifth who did not vote, was McCain, and I know he’s a RINO. Finally the surprise to me, is Sessions, maybe there was a reason why he was unable to vote.

The plant that I worked at, was closed due in 2010 to all the policies from the Environmental Agencies. Congress is not doing its job, and instead lets the bureacrats run the country by policy, not law.

    Purge the RINO’s

  • Sagebrushcyn

We will not be able to get rid of the entrenched until congressional term limits are established. Two terms and done, they go back to the private sector. How can these people not be out of touch when they have spent their careers on the hill? Do you honestly believe that the voters who support the liberal Pelosi, Reid, Boxer agenda will elect anyone else?

Would just ‘once’ like to hear from each of these RINO’s their justification for their vote.Their vote does not surprise me for present and past behavior is always an indicator of future behavior. Yes, a SMART vote at the polls can go a long ways. Compare that to a uninformed, emotion based vote and why there is a community organizer (not leader) at the helm.

Instead of voting them out….check your states “recall statutes” and petition to recall them. If you really want to start a movemant against this type of crruption start a drive to cancell the Seventeenth Amendment which violates Article V of the Constitution. How can a “majority” of people in an election deny a “State” which is a body “politic and corporate” it’s sufferage in the Senate without it’s concent? Since it is the “States” in their capacity as “State” who appoint their senators where did the “voters” obtain their authority to “elect” senators? Demand that the States agasin appoint their senators in compliance with the edicts of the Constitution and half or our problem is solved. The other half will be solved when a majority of Americans have a working knowledge of the Constitution of the United States and their own state.

It seems we have a strong majority of americans that agree Obama, Holder, all the Czars, advisor Axelrod, all need to go, not in 2012 but now by Impeachment. The only way we can get it done is for about 10 million of us go to washington and surround the house of representatives and give them an ultimatum as well as the US Senate. We stay there until the Obamas and Biden along with all his followers are out of Washington.
While were there we also need to make it clear to the EPA and there MINORITY following leave also. The office of HOMELAND SECURITY which was foisted on the American people by Bush and Cheney also needs to go along with the patriot act which was written by Cheney who has sucked a living from the US treasury for many years.

Yes, the qu’ran denies Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, the Saviour of all or ” The way, the truth and the life.” I’slam is an INVENTION; diametrically opposed to the truth
of Christianity and Judaism– Christ was born in Judah to a Jewish mama. The Church was started in Jerusalem by Christ and His deciples who were Jews. I’slamics preach hatred of Jews and deny that Israel has a right to exist. The silence of i’slamics when i’slamics murder, rape and pillage is a demonstration of i’slamic bondage to an invented
lie. Kafirs with a dhimmitude attitude have their head in the sand and their buttocks in the air waiting for a kick from an imam who believes the 12th imam (i’slam’s messiah)
      is in a well in Iran (Persia) waiting to come out and clense planet Earth of unbeliever’s;
      of i’slam, of course.

    • Don DeHoff

With the exception of your last sentence concerning the “Marines”, (I do not know what you meant or implied), your overall comment, though not polished, is right on point. Our biggest problem, is that Islam includes “all facets of life” (and I mean ALL), makes no provisions for seperation of “church and state”, and the Qur’an” is so worded that to “quarrel” with any aspect of Islam, can and does result in the death penalty. Congress and the courts have yet come to grips with this problem. Just because someone says or has said Islam is a religion, does not make it so. Muslims, insist that their God and the God of Christianity (without me taking sides). states they are “one and the same”. One does not have to be a Phd to see that “they” are as different as night and day”, even to the extent that school-grade children clearly see the difference. We must insist the congress and the highest courts decree that “Facts and Truth” cannot ever be “blasphemy, phobic or a hate crime”. The Muslims may cut-off a few heads to justify their position, but the “facts and truth” will remain “out there” for the whole world to see. Our best weapons for combating this problem are the internet, TV, civil and cordial debate and the media (if we can get the latter on our side). I truely wonder just how many Muslims, especially women, would abandon, at least the violent parts of the Qur’an, if it were not for the ungodly “revelation” that dictates the penalty of death for any deviation from Islamic faith. Having said all of that, we must appeal to everyone’s logic, ability to reason and common sense, and with facts, to reveal Islam for what it is and for what it is not. Also, do not “hate” any Muslim or person of Islamic Faith, as they have been taught their beliefs, starting from about age 5, and continuing throughout their life times, to the tune of about 5 times a day. It is interesting to note that about 30 “revelations” in the Qur’an, either directly or indirectly imply that the Earth is flat. an up until about 2008, at least one Muslim leader was still insisting that it was. To add “fuel to the fire”, the U.S. has included, I believe, 8 Astronauts in our space flights. I wonder just what “they” said to their “leaders”! If anyone does not know “where to start” on the issue of Islam, I suggest they read Robert Spencer’s book, “The Politically Incorrect Guide To Islam (And The Crusades)” and Brigitte Gabriel’s book, “They Must Be Stopped”. Need more?–there are at least a dozen other good books and reports on this subject including reams of material on Google and the other search engines, such as “Jihad Watch”. One also needs a good “approved” English Translation of the Qur’an. I reccommend the Pickthall 1920 Translation, 2000 Edition. Later editions have changes made to just support “their postition”, such as changing the word “usury” to “interest”. Need more?, just let me know, but keep “it” civil and based upon facts.

      • American Patriot

        @Don DeHoff,
They are saying the truth. There is only one God of all creation. No matter if you call Him God, Allah or Holy Spirit and He is the God of all people. NOT just the jews!!!!!

        • Don DeHoff

Sir, I know you mean well but you surely do not know the facts. No one can respond intelligently concerning the Qur’an unless they fully understand it’s lack of chronology and it’s undated “abrogations” and also have read an “ap;proved” English translation of the that Holy Book. Without that background the Qur’an is completly undecipherable, even for most Muslims, including some of their trained Phds. Also, keep in mind that many Arabic common “ever day” words have completly different meanings than our English counterparts. It is essential that when discussing any Arabic issue, you must insist that English be used, and that the English meaning must be adhered to, else there can be “no meeting of the minds”. They, adhering the Qur’anic revelations, take the position that all discussions about the Qur’an must be done in “pure Arabic”, which just can not be done, unless one is fluent in Arabic. And, as I have said before, without taking religious sides, even a grade-school child can see the very extreme differences between the two Gods—do your homework and let us proceed with the discussion. Keep in mind all non-Muslims are at a significant disadvantage in that all Muslims are taught their conceipts starting from about age 5 and continuing throughout their life times, almost on a daily basis. Of course now, the internet and Google and the other search engines are some help but they can not make up for their years of training. If you need a “starting point”, I suggest you read Robert Spencer’s book, “The Political Incorrect Guide to Islam (And The Crusades)”. I have a list of about a dozen others if you wish to proceed further. Thanks.

in this case , since I live AND BREATHE, in Pennsylvania , I am glad that our air will be more clean than what would have been the case if those new EPA rules were not inforced. I also believe that Fraking should be banned in Pennsylvania and NO ONE is more conservative than myself. Drill for oil closer to our shores, create more nuke plants, dig for coal, but no fracking .

    • SIDNEY

    • Don DeHoff

“Fracking” appears to be a secret process. We do know that it takes millions of gallons of already scarce water and , some mysterious chemical compound(s) that no one wants to discuss. I agree completly the fracking process will eventually contaminate our underground water supply which provides much of our country’s’ rural and small town fresh water drinking supplies. Also, they are now fracking in Canada and the Dakotas, where many of the underground “headwater” aquifers originate or pass through. If necessary, gas and oil we can do without, but fresh waters is and always will be a “must”. We must get the public more involved in these issues, including the ever growing Muslim/Islamic fiasco.

Tennessee, to be one of the most conservative states, is cursed to have two of the most liberal senators, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker. Corker is up for reelection this year (which explains why he voted with conservatives), and he needs to be given the boot! Alexander voted with his socialist friends in that he is safe for a couple more years. He believes that Tennesseans are ignorant and of short memory. I pray that he has miscalculated. These two traitors to their state have the money of the establishment political bosses behind them, but many in the state despise their duplicity and are preparing their political demise.

Since the lobbyist own most of congress, does anyone think it really matters who our congressmen and women are anymore? Many congressmen and women become lobbyist after their term is up because they know where the real money is today. their first goal is retain their position for as long as possible. Since their benefits are numerous it is not hard to understand. Most Americans have to work to 66 and beyond. There are 14,000 known lobbyist. Congress has 535 members. Where is the power ?

  • Don DeHoff

Come on Republicans, calm down an stop the “RINO” shouting. Too many of you are falling into line on “Party”, and not the facts. We DO need to restrict the coal smoke as it is a major pollution factor. We have but a few coal-fired power plants here in Colorado, but I see at least a dozen 100-car coal trains heading East on just one track, and there must be at least a six or so tracks involved. The industry surely has not done its home work on smoke- stack “scrubbers”. There has to be a way of, if not eliminating, at least significantly reducing, the amount of pollution from smoke stacks. Yes it requires water, and lots of it, and perhaps “charging” smoke particals so they can be corralled with negatively charged screens/panals which then can be “scrubbed” with high-velocity sprayed with water. Perhaps a $100.00 per railroad car “pollution tax” could be imposed and the funds used to more quickly find a solution. I suspect the “end product”, could be dried and mixed with concrete and used in our highways and building foundations–but then again, I do not have an engineering degree, but I did graduate from the “School of Hard Knocks”. For those who wonder from where I am coming, I am a staunch Republican and a strict Constitutionalist–but I try and not let that get in the way of logic, reason and common sense. And, yes I have many good Democratic friends and acquaintances.

    • Wayne

Don DeHoff, everything that we currently use as our energy has some draw back, but that does not mean we should quit using it. The environmentalist are against using coal, nuclear, oil, wood, and everything that we use to power our industries and our homes. You are using things everything made with energy you say we should not be using. You’re using some kind of a vehicle that uses gasoline, producing that vehicle took energy you are against using You’re mostly likely using hundreds of different products that are made from oil, and you are not even aware of this. People like you who are using things that are made from the energy you say we should not be using should be ashamed of yourselves. I would like to see some way we could keep folks like you from using this type of energy. As far as I am concerned, all of you environmentalist are hypocrites and should be banned from using our energy sources. You are all using oil, nuclear, oil, and then cmplaining that we should not be using this type energy. Solar and wind will never be able to heat our homes and power our industry, at least what is left of our industries. Yep! it is people like you why his country is so screwed up and the reason unemployment is so high. Now come back and tell us what we should be using to heat our homes and our struggling, what’s left, industries.

      • Don DeHoff

Wayne, you apparently do no know what the words, “civil and cordial” mean. I base this on your eagerness to grab your verbal guns and start shooting, helter-skelter. Most all people are aware that our plastic items such as containers for food, trim on automobiles etc, all are made from oil. We can and should go back to glass containers for food products, as they are made basicly from sand which probably will never be in short supply and glass is recyclable. You are too concerned with today and assume that tomarrow will never come. I trust that does not carry over into your day-to-day living. I am 79 years young and I have seen tomarrow come, many times. I would like to see this country and the world continue for many additional “eons” but like all living things, this earth will eventually die, maybe in another million years, maybe a hundred, ten, or next year, or who knows, next week. I would include tomarrow, but I have a tee-time at the local links at 12;30. The U.S., as a country. is not yet 300 years old and we have continually tried to improve our living standard every year. Europe on the other hand, has been around for a much longer period and they have leveled-off most all facets of life into a much more moderate pace. Our present rate of pollution, is analogous to defecating in one’s own front yard, or wetting the bed—sooner or later something has to be done about it. Yes, many environmentalists are probably just as extreme in their viewpoint and actions as you, but I sincerely believe that most people, a hundred years from now, would rather live under their conservative philosophical umbrella than yours. Moderation and planning ahead is the name of the game, we cannot continue to exploit this earth and not expect severe consequences. I am a retired military person and I have personally seen films of areas in oceans, hundreds of miles from shores, that look like cess-pools, with floating plactic bags, condoms and trash in general and most all countries are continuing to dump barge-loads of sewage and trash in them every day. Also compared to France we have only a small number of atomic power plants, but no country has discovered a reliable way to dispose of nuclear waste, without the possibility of contaminating our fresh water suppies still more. I could go on and on, but I trust I have refuted your postion and made my point(s?). CIAO

        • Wayne

Don, I am 74 years of age. You have your opinions, I have mine. I stick with my opinions. Doing away with oil, coal and nuclear will put you back into the horse and buggy days of the 1800’s. You may want this, but I don’t. All I can tell you is to find out all the things that are made with oil products and you can quit using them. If you will quit using oil products, I will have high respect for you. Please don’t use the asplalt roadways as they are made from that nasty, dirty oil as well as about 600 other things that we currently use. In fact you may want to stop using your computer as well as I am sure you will also find a few things in it that uses oil products. If I don’t get a response back from you, then I will know you have taken my advice and will be giving up those things made from oil.

          • Wayne

Oh! one more thing, Don. I am a very Conservative person that want Communist Obama out of the White House. I do think there is a way to safely use the energies I have previously described with safety, or I would not have been promoting them. I also want to see a good clean environment. I believe if we work at it, we can have both; using our natural resources and a good clean environment. I am always complaining to my wife when I drive down the roads, and I see plastic and paper bags lying all over the ditches. This is a result of people not caring for our enviornment. I suggest we start caring for the environment by educating our young children while they are in their formitive years. Most of our problems are with other people who did not learn to respect others while they were being raised in a home with bad parenting. You are retired military; I am a retired law enforcement officer who tried to make a difference. My motto is, and has always been, treat others as you would have them treat you.

The time has come to split the USA into two countries; the east (God forgive their blunted, narrow belief systems) should stay with it’s own kind; idiots, fools, liberals, democrats, aka dungbeetles, and the like. But the problem is what to do with the garbage dumps in the west, California and Oregon, and what to do with more conservative states in the east, West Virginia, for example. One solution would be to pay England to take the New England states and Mexico to take California (it already has more illegal aliens than gays and transsexuals).

    • Don DeHoff

Sir, you should not jest about such a serious problem, or at least I assume you were jesting. Division of this great country would force us into a similar hodge-podge as now exists in Europe. A breakup would open “Pandora’s Box”, and we would eventually, like Europe have “countries” the size of many of our states and in some cases, the size of some of larger counties—then talk about competition, tarriff, and boarder skirmishes–it would make the Mexico border problem look like a Sunday-School picnic, and various “New World Order” or Muslim factions would gleefully “move-in”. Our world political situation is similiar to a chess game and one must always be looking several moves ahead. You Sir, are only not looking ahead, you are looking over your shoulder to the past. I await your “reasoned” reply.

      • Don DeHoff

In my frustration, I overlooked giving you an alternative. The solution is to go back to our Constitutional form of government. There is nothing wrong with our existing capitalistic and freedom form of government that can not be repaired by eliminating the greed, graft and corruption that exists within our system—“don’t throw out the baby with the bath water”. Your “fix” is worse than the existing problem. Our Constitution and our way of life, surely is not perfect, except that it remains “head and shoulders” above that which exists anywhere else in the world. Our Republic has been the most successful political and social experiment in the history of the entire world—why do you think most everyone wants to come here and live?

  • Don DeHoff

In my previous comment, I made (at least) two errors. Wherein I said, “a $100.00 tax”, I should have said, “an additional $100.00 tax”. Also, in a previous sentence, I used the word, “with” twice. A “word-smith”, not am I.

hey all i agree with what people had to say, it is time to get the rhinos out of the republican party or the so call republicans that run on the ticket to wind but votes against republican stands on issues. Bown did it and has put a knife in our back, wish he would run as a democrate and great the tea party is not helping him so he should be gone. Snowe and collins are two that have voted more with democrates than republicans and they should go also. We have anyotte, kirk and murkowski and these three should be on our radar for the next election. I respect everyones thoughts, but the democrates think one way, more government control, more spending, more social programs and the republicans believe in capitalism, lower taxes, less regulations and less governemnt control. Policticans need to be in the party that they believe in and not in the party lable that will allow them to be re elected. These people need to get out of the republican party and go to the democrates and we need to elect people who believe in the free interprise society.

  • Spar07

Democrats vowed to fight anything and EVERYTHING the Republicans produce, not because they think it is a bad bill but because they can stand to see Republicans produce or vote on anything that would be beneficial to us.
The democrats don’t care about what is good for our country at all, not jobs, not our economy, not our freedoms. They flat out don’t give a dam about us, period, only themselves and destroying all that we stand for.
Quite frankly, I am surprised another Civil War hasn’t erupted due to democratic arrogance.

For the life of me, I don’t know why any Republican has not prposed a 30% slash in the budget. Cut Everything by 30%. And then when the critics say it is asinine. The response should be: I think every sensible taxpayer knows that our federal government is full of waste , fraud and corruption and pork barrel nonsense. If our leaders cannot find the 30%, then we need to fire them and put competent leaders in their that can find it. I think my 14 year old could find it easily. Start with Congress.

We need to cut 30% now to:

Cut the budget and start restoring the 6th sense lacking in DC – Common Sense!
Cut corruption, waste and fraud – we need to restore insanity
Stop using our tax dollars for the benefit of congress members family, friends and political donors
Start paying down the debt to boost the dollar.

Keep cutting 10% every year for the next 10 years.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” –
    — Thomas Jefferson

We need a clean sweep get RID of ALL incumbent crooks. They do NOTHING in the interest of America and EVERYTHING to stay in POWER. NOT one of them is representing the people.

  • Lou

Perry when fumbling should of said yes the EPA has to go it’s a job killer, Americans are worried about jobs not me forgetting the 3rd one. This answer would have save Perry if he had addresed this in this manner

  • Roger

Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine , Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Scott Brown of Massachusetts and Mark Kirk of Illinois need to be fired for voting to help destroy our country.

    • usmadgirl

Thank you for listing the names of the RINOs. Lamar Alexander is my Senator. I’m writing him to let him know that although I understand his goofy reasoning behind his vote (to let the “left” know that the GOP doesn’t want “dirty air & dirty water” as Obama has accused them), that there were already regulations in place & that the EPA has too much power as it is. Now they’ve just given them MORE control to have O’Dumbo’s campaign promise become reality; “under my plan, energy bills will necessarily skyrocket” & that he’ll “put the coal plants out of business”!

How many more job-killing actions can our “dictator-in-chief” come up with? He wants the Republicans to pass his “jobs plan” – more worthless “green” government jobs & more unconstitutional garbage, but he’s doing everything he can to get rid of private sector jobs! He wants us to be dependent on the government so he can control us.

Senator Alexander is a RINO idiot! Tennessee used to be a conservative majority state. Now, we have so many progressive-indoctrinated college graduates & progressive transplants, it’s probably barely over half conservative!

We’re having problems paying our electric bill now! If it “skyrockets”, I don’t know how I’ll keep my business & household going!

PLEASE, vote AGAINST O’Dumbo even if the GOP candidate is the “Tazmanian Devil” or “Bugs Bunny”! They probably voted for O’Dumbo in 2008 along with Donald Duck & Mickey Mouse!

  • Roger

EPA wants to limit emissions from coal fired plants. Lets send them all to Red China where there is much more coal burned with no “safe guards”.

  • allen goldberg

    what a load of manure!
the six RINO’s ought to be castigated for their obviuous political posturing
again siding against the industry because they are worried that OBOZO
will push something through that they will politically suffer for…

Easy solution: get rid of the IMPOSTOR in the White House

  • Ray

Coal is a filthy nasty business from start to finish. The fact that we are so interested in using crude filthy sources of energy from 200 years ago speaks to how pitiful and lazy we are. I’m sure history will look back on this time as one of the worst in the history of mankind. We have tremendous potential, but continue to pollute and kill each other with our chemicals and waste, all because of greed.

    • Wayne

Ray, you are another one who will complain what we should not be using, but you cannot come up with a good solution. Find a good solution and submit it to the right people, and you will become a rich man.

    • American Patriot

Coal was put on earth by God as a resourse for man to use.

  • Bill

I am a lifelong Republican Conservative and I believe that Mark Kirk and the five other Republicans voted correct in this case. Keep up this mindless chatter against the good environmental regulations and we will we will have another four years of Obama.

    • Wayne

Bill, it is the mindset from people like you that is ruining this country, and you’re not even aware of it. This is too bad. You are saying what we should not be using, but you are not giving us any alternative of the other types of energy we should be using. Maybe you are so smart that you can come up with a clean energy that we all can use. Don’t come up with solar and wind power either. I have seen many days in the winter where you did not have any sun or wind. In my opinion, these two forms of enegy may become a good assist, but they will never replace coal, nuclear or oil.

  • DH

OK shut em down. Those who get their power from coal can jus tdo without power. But that might mean rationing for everyone. So what. That is what the democrats want, that and kill a bunch of jobs. Son of a ___

    • Wayne

DH, the Democrats and the environmentalist are just too stupid to see this. If they were the ones without power they would be blaming we Conservatives for that too. We were given this energy to use. If we are too stupid to use it, then the stupid Democrats and Envionmentalist should be the ones to do withut, not us who want it. How much better can I describe this? Of course the environmentalist will either refuse to acknowlege this, or will be too stupid to understand it.

Google: EPA Abuse Newsletter. Very informative.

  • Steve

The EPA is being used and was put in place as a UN puppet organization to destroy American business and de industrialize this nation. To help bring about a monopoly for the largest multi national companies shutting down their competition. The EPA works for the Global corporate elite to eliminate their competition. Wake up America…phoney left right paradigm is destroying us. It is not a left right issue…it is a Globalist Corporate fascism issue. Ron Paul would move to eliminate this organzations power which is used to implement the UN agenda of Global de industrialization.

  • ValuesVoter

Talk to people and convince them that elections matter and that the media is not telling us the truth, even suppressing events that affect our way of life. The November 8 elections proved that a lot of people are still not getting it and would vote for democraps next time. And the democraps are working very hard with their kickback money from their cronies to buy votes. We need to get to a higher level of kicking back against these destroy-America crooks.

  • Janice Fortin

the bull in the china shop will be lucky if he does not end his “term” early in HANDCUFFS.
Every single czar he has chosen for jobs that violate the Constitution. They bypass Congress and bulldoze the public. What a disappointment no marching veterans on D.C. I think that’s why the current resident made sure he was out of town. Now will the veterans march to meet him in SanDiago? We can hope. What we are counting on is the rumor that the eligibility question will have its day in court and that the investigation being done by several congressmen on radical and unconstitutional policies being herded thru the white house will
hold that ineligible president accountable for all the crimes. More crime in the white house than in D.C. slums. One exceptionally harmful act is opening the borders to the unknown – could be criminal cartel and/or carrying a number of diseases that leave Americans unprotected. If we get the guy we want in there, he’ll put a padlock on that border but not before those 300,000 illegal job stealers are shoved back where they belong. Tonight, listen to the Republican Debate. Good Luck to us all.

  • Gunsmoke

Does any of this bickering and complaining really do any good, as it seems to me that what Obama wants and what he is for, he somehow manages to get it, regardless of what ” WE THE PEOPLE ” have to say….. The EPA is in his back pocket and they do what he says….. The same goes for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens, Jobs, Fast & Furious Operation and Oh so many more in which he’s placed upon us and the WORST of the bunch is ObamaCare…….

  • Tommy

Check the credentials of Obama’s Czars before your final judgement

  • James

The almighty ‘O’ needs to go, preferrably in handcuffs, and let us repeal all of the execetive orders he has used to trample our Constitution. Here is a link that explains his SSN scam.

  • SteveB

    Can anyone spell RINO?

  • Randy Minnick

In a radio interview conducted during his campaign, then Senator Obama was asked what he intended to do about the coal industry. His response almost threw me onto the floor! He stated that (and I paraphrase) , “I will strangle the coal industry to death by regulation and taxation”. This is NOT “hearsay”. I heard this with my own two lobeless ears. The man is willing to put as many as a quarter of a million jobs overboard to achieve his objectives! The man is a criminal and should be given a fair trial and then hung with a new rope….I’m buying.

  • James

Oops,I posted the wrong link a couple minutes ago concerning ‘O’ social security number scam.

An intensive investigation has revealed the identity of the man whose Social Security number (SSN) is being used by President Obama: Jean Paul Ludwig, who was born in France in 1890, immigrated to the United States in 1924, and was assigned SSN 042-68-4425 (Obama’s current SSN) on or about March 1977.

Ludwig lived most of his adult life in Connecticut . Because of that, his SSN begins with the digits 042, which are among only a select few reserved for Connecticut residents.

Obama never lived or worked in that state! Therefore, there is no reason on earth for his SSN to start with the digits 042. None whatsoever!

Now comes the best part! Ludwig spent the final months of his life in Hawaii, where he died.

Conveniently, Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham, worked part-time in the Probate Office in the Honolulu Hawaii Courthouse, and therefore had access to the SSNs of deceased individuals.

The Social Security Administration was never informed of Ludwig’s death, and because he never received Social Security benefits there were no benefits to stop and therefore, no questions were ever raised.

The suspicion, of course, is that Dunham, knowing her grandson was not a U.S. Citizen, either because he was born in Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia upon his adoption by Lolo Soetoro simply scoured the probate records until she found someone who died who was not receiving Social Security benefits, and selected Mr. Ludwigs Connecticut SSN for Obama.

  • Bill in Ohio

This ought to give the people of Ohio good reason to vote Senator Brown out next year.

  • Terry Black

What I want to know is, the names of the Republican Traitors, who voted to reject the repeal of the EPA?

We have quite a few traitors in our midst, I just came off of patriotupdate website and there were people on their singing the praises of a certain candidate running for GOP nomimee and stating how good he’d be in office!

Then one of the readers who had done their research, posted a video clip link about this candidate!

Upon looking at this clip I knew, it overwhelming pointed out the importance of astute research on any candidate you or I may pick to vote for in these Primaries or an election!

Here then is that video clip link:

It’s now obivious that the Democrat party is run by the left as well as some rouge Republicans. With the up coming elections in 2012, let’s make a conserted effort to replace all liberals in Washington with true conservatives. Liberals have just proved that they do not have the best interest of the American people in their hearts, but only how they can keep power and money coming into their greey little hands. It’s not this country they care for, but their socialist programs and how it will benefit them. To those who continue to put these clowns in political office I say, you to are as guilty as your leftist buddies, and sooner or later you will also pay the penalty for your misguilded trust in a socialist group of misfits. Remember! your freedom and money will someday also go to these power grabbers, and like so many of the unemployed, you to will be looking for a way to make a living. Then we will all look and see how much help these liberal clowns will give you.

These STUPID Democrats are ruining this GREAT COUNTRY of “OURS” When are we going to stand up and vote these Environuts out of the Senate and Congress??? When will IMPEACHMENT proceedings start for OBUMMER?

  • mmike

pineapple you are a wingnut of the first order, the only countries that are being penalized for using the earths resources are the ones stupid enough to vote numbnuts like Obummer in, I’m sorry but people are going to use the resources that they need and the only ones that are going to be made to pay more are idiots like I just described so either vote them out or be set to pay more I just wish I did not have to as well.

  • Dave

AS long as theirs no control over voter fraud your votes count for nothing. And that’s what the Government wants.

I think its time to find out who these nazi’s are and start recall petitions aginst them,if they do not want to help out with the loss of jobs we have due to energy dept unwillingness to approve deep water drilling permits then just what else can we expect , these economy killing job nazi’s are crawfishing on us, is there a deep personal gain to be had ?these republicians are siding with these commie democrapts and their stupid policies, this needs to be stopped before it gets started

  • Paul427

RINOS make me sick. They casually destroy the country while they join hands with their clueless Democrate counterparts. I want these bozos names plastered all over the conservative media so that all losers can be replaced by real conservative Republicans!!!

I know two bimbos from Maine, Snowe and Collins. Two dipshits that should prove some women cannot understand normal thought.

    This comes as a Surprise?
Remember the head Dem, policies are set to destroy, not to build this nation!
It may be that he fully believes this is for our own good, but he’s sadly mistaken.

They may call themselves “Progressive” but they are in fact “Regressive” in that they want to take us back to the candle lights and horse & buggy times!

Well that may be their, “Good Old Days” but they can go there, all by themselves, Thank YOU!
    Drill Baby Brill!

Another win for the environmental whacko’s. I hope a real conservative wins, and takes the EPA to the woodshed for a serious whoopin! The EPA is run by enviro whacko’s and this agency is running amok. It is running over small and large business. These people do not seem to care what harm their regulations may cause to business. The general public seems to not be aware of what their goverenment is doing-they are more interested in living their daily lives, they will learn too late what a seriously bad mistake they made in electing Obama and his merry band of cutthroat socialists!

  • Doug

When the EPA and Obamie shut down businesses…that will put more Americans on Welfare or Government hand-outs, once the Government has Americans depending on their hand-out to feed their families, those on welfare will do or say whatever they must to keep getting these hand-outs….we seen this when Obamie was voted into office! If the only work in town is for Government…then we will work for Government like it or not!! It is called Communism! The upper class Govern and the Lower Class do the work for those in Power!, (once considered slavery)!! And then as we recall Chavez’s statement to America; “I am glad Obamie will be your last President (Addressing the UNITED NATIONS). Communism is/has been pushed in Various Universities across America since 1965, as simply an economic tool used to feed the masses when no other employment is available! Or in America’s case when Unions with a greed for more dues through higher wages and a percentage thereof, and the EPA with rules costing 85% of profits to implement and replacements needed to maintain…the only one that won’t be affected will be Government! The Only Jobs In Town….may I have another bowl of Rice? I have ONE CHILD to FEED! In God We Better Trust! Be Cause as God had stated “If you Give A Man A Fish…you have Feed Him for a Day”….”But, if you teach a man to fish (work for his income) you have feed him for a life-time”!
