Ft. Hood Sergeant Illegally Arrested and Guns Confiscated while Hunting

The conflict between law enforcement and armed military personnel in the community around Fort Hood, one of America’s largest military bases, has recently and repeatedly involved the issue of gun control — and the tension has been exacerbated in part by an Obama-supporting prosecutor described as a “bandleader” of anti-gun efforts in the heavily conservative community.

The conflict reached a fever pitch last month, when Texas police arrested an active-duty Army sergeant for “rudely displaying” a hunting rifle. The sergeant, C.J. Grisham, established an online legal defense fund after he was, in his words, “illegally arrested and disarmed” for carrying the firearm.

“While out hiking with my son through backcountry roads to help him earn his Eagle Scout rank, I was illegally arrested and disarmed without cause. I was thrown in jail and my lawfully owned weapons were confiscated without receipt or notice,” Grisham wrote on the website for the defense fund.

This is a prime example of a smart-@$$ tyrant DA, drunk with the power he believes Generalissimo o-Flim-Flam has bestowed upon him.

Where the H3LL were all these citizens who are so worried about guns, when Nadal Hassan was driving onto the base at Ft Hood, concealing a handgun, which he used to create mayhem on unarmed military personnel? BTW… WHY is that vermin still breathing?

    • I_ME_MINE

WHY is that vermin still breathing?
In 4 words or less….To piss us off.

      • onecornpone

        To piss us off.

        It’s working!!! >:-[

Did you read all three pages of this story. If not, you should, even if you have to postpone doing it until Monday. It is infuriatingly predictive of how our “law enforcement” officers will behave during any tiny instance of political or societal upheaval. “Oathkeepers” my @$$!

Where the H3LL is the NRA. They should be front and center, educating the public that there are instances where citizens have the right to openly carry a firearm. If we don’t get the low-info citizen educated as to gun laws, we might as well be living in a gawldang police state.

If you look at the way things are being done then you will that we do live in a police state.

    • matism

This is why I am not necessarily unhappy about the recent deaths of those “Law Enforcement” and “Legal System” people in Texas. If they were cut from the same cloth as these fine examples, I thank the Lord for at least HE is truly just.

A little in-depth study would reveal that the murdered prosecutors previously served on an effective, high profile drug trafficking task force.

Are you a drug traifficker matism?

        Just askin’…

You are really doing a great job convincing me they got exactly what they deserved. Just like that fine Detective Eric Smith from Mississippi.

There’s a storm brewing, the likes of which this country has never seen. Those who drape the flag across their shoulders while spitting on their very oath of office to the Constitution don’t have a clue as to what they’re prodding awake. The coming whirlwind will not be kind.

This has been a problem between many towns and the military for a long time. For some reason there is friction between the civilian police and the military. I remember many years ago on Fort Carson that a full Coll. was arrested for supposed drunk driving. Problem was that he had just spent the last month down range and was going directly home. The police were not happy to see me nor the two MPs with me that did not surrender their side arms along with myself. What needs to happen is for the military to drive a wedge between the cops and the real problem the prosecutor. Their kind dont last long because many military retires near Forts to be close to medical help. And we are very very conservative and we do vote.

      • Sonny

I must disagree on one point, this is not a military versus town issue, this is pure and simple 2nd amendment rights versus asinine Law enforcement and prosecutors. The rights to bear arms have nothing to do with military, law enforcement or otherwise, it’s a right, end of story, and taking this guys firearms in my opinion is an assault on civil rights, furthermore, I don’t think the system is working, connect the dots.

And the addresses for some “Law Enforcement” officers as well.

  • Fred Hambrecht

This has nothing to do with gun control, it is people control. I watch with dismay as the left allows a nanny state to dictate the salt they can use and the size of their soft drinks. Gun control is the way they shackle those who will not put the shackles on themselves like those that swallow all the liberal plantation koolaid.

    • TexasOlTimer

Add to that anything that is American – I hear the Gadsden flag has had to be removed from one site because it’s “offensive.” Anything that comes from our American culture or our history is apparently “offensive” to someone and the vast majority who want to keep our culture and history are immaterial if we are offended by the removal.

Add to that the control of our population in the name of “safety” or our “health” – be it what we eat, what we place on our property, what we wear, or what we purchase. If a liberal can come up with something no matter how far fetched to say it’s for our safety or health, then so be it. We have to go along. NO WAY! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

    • metheoldsarge

I was assigned at Ft Hood in the 1970s. At that time Temple, Killeen, Harker Heights, Copparas Cove and Gatesville were typical GI towns. They loved the money revenue the base provided but did everything to mess with the soldiers. It was open season on out-of-state license plates and military stickers. If you had both, they would follow you through their area. God help you if they found a reason to pull you over. It would cost you plenty.

  • Herbert Hoos

“Rudely Displaying” what the hell does that mean? I could see if he was “BANDISHING” the rifle in a threatning way. Obviously that didn’t happen or it would have been reported that way. This is just PC BS!

    • metheoldsarge

I saw the video on this incident the other day. It seemed staged to me. Who was taking the video? Since the Rodney King incident, what corrupt police officer in his right mind would allow a video to be made? The video I saw seemed to cut in during the incident and cut off. If this was a legitimate video, I would like to see it in it’s entirety.

  • Sgt. York

who really feels that Law Enforcement will truly stand with the people in the event of a Civil War? These fools with a badge and a gun are as bad as any Obummer Communist group, he has duped them into believing they are mini Gods. They are now becoming the Gov. Brown Shirts on parade. This does not surprise me one bit

  • Mike Rogers

If this is true, the law abiding gun owners of the town need to surround the police and prosecutors offices, and demand that the charges be dropped, and the guns returned.
I am beginning to think that the government is setting up as many potential flash points as possible in order to declare an emergency and “restore order”.
No warrant, no probable cause, no search or seizure. We have to stop these idiots

    • matism

Won’t work unless they are ready to go all the way. And even then, Perry will send the State Pigs and the National Guard to kill anyone who stands against his “Law Enforcement” and his “Legal System”.

It won’t be Perry sending them matism. The Tx governorship is largely a figurehead position with very little real power. This is called finding the weakest link to set a precedent. Grisham is not a popular guy, has ongoing conflicts with others whom disagree with him and is an easy target for the anti-gun people. The only real question is was there probable cause to stop him from walking or was he simply stalked by police for political reasons, carrying a gun.

The overwhelming majority of “Law Enforcement” in this country spit on their very oath of office to the Constitution on a regular basis. Hell, even the so-called “Oath Keepers” will not actually stand against their Brothers in Blue who commit treason, but will merely refuse to help them do so. But should any Mere Citizen dare to stand against the traitors and actually kill any of them, see how long it takes those “Oath Keepers” to smash that Mere Citizen for his courage.

“In this day and age, [people] are alarmed when they see someone with what you have,” one of the officers tells Grisham in the video. “They don’t care what the law is.”
Say What??? This happened in Texas, these officers made a ” stupid statement ” like that.

Over all ” Native Texans ” don’t get alarmed when they see a person with a gun, unless it’s pointed at them.

Give me a break. You see people with hunting rifles, AR-15’s, hand guns with them when they are going into rural areas or hunting. No one gets alarmed. Well let me rephrase that, ” they didn’t use to get alarmed ” until all this Newtown Ct hype. Now anyone with a gun is considered a ” mass killer waiting to happen “. This attitude especially in ” Temple Texas ” has got to be muzzled. Native Texans don’t act like a bunch of gunaphobia idiots because they were raised around guns all their lives. This latest mass hysteria is the cause of left wing Democommies pushing the envelope of brain washing people about guns. Since the influx of out of state people moving to Texas for jobs, they bring with them their hatred for guns as well. Native Texans don’t fear, nor hate guns. Temple Texas Police Department had better clean out their ” head gear “. The military base(s) nearby brings in a lot of money into their economy, with that said, I wonder how they would feel if the military personal stopped buying cars, food, loans from their fair city?
This whole country has gone crazy since the head Democommie took over as dictator.
This has got to be changed and now!

    • disqus_Ed8LYkU7q2

The military should do all of their buying from SOMEWHERE ELSE! Don’t support a communist government stooge or town.

      • sovereigntyofone

I really hope that the troops/military personal are paying attention to what’s going on in this country. Things are only going to get worse and my hopes are that when an IF something goes down that the troops will back the citizens and constitution instead of this fraud president that has made it his life’s work to destroy this country and convert it to communism. God help us all.

The facts are we do not know what the facts are.
If this story is correct and I belive it is at least nearley acurate, what do we do? March on DC? March on state capitals? March on police stations?
We have no organization. If they ahve a one million (1,000,000) man army and we have ten million
(10,000,000) men, we are out numbered.
I tried to start an informal get togeather in the park a couple of weeks ago and NOBODY showed up except me.

  • Daniel W. Cote

Since he was arrested and he didn’t break any laws I think he should sue for wrongful arrest. I have one question what is rudely displaying a weapon from what I read he had it sling arms over his shoulder like anyone in the military would. The law says he can carry as long as it’s not in a threatening manner and I see nothing threatening about carrying a rifle sling arms. It’s a typical liberal gun grab. I hope he sues the city and that Attorney general and wins. The law is the law and it does matter. Liberals seem to enforce what laws they want to and make up things as they go.

The author OUGHT to know better and do better.

  • Daniel F. Melton

    This ‘persecutor’ needs prosecuted.

  • Silas Longshot

As the rest of this article points out, ‘the people don’t care what the law is’ as far as personal firearm rights, and neither do the cops. The cops always ‘win’ these confrontations, so far, because law abiding people allow themselves to be treated in such a manner, peacefully cooperating with the cops disarming them, violating their rights, in spite of the zhit they get from the cops. Some day, that line will be crossed, no going back, and this kind of BS will no longer be put up with.
Video record every incident possible, it will prove useful in future prosecutions of these cops in the new courts of law which will respect the Constitution and personal rights.

Mob or vigilantly rule is now the norm for how o and the libs govern. The law has nothing to do with it. Go out and stir up the mob. O us at it every day.

Look out here comes the mob, Obamacare, bank rules, illegal immigration, war in women, racists, gun control, same sex marriage, that bad Romney and the list goes on. It seem to take no more than a week for the mob to demand someother lib objective for first creation of another political thought.

They have to horas legal citizens, they know illegal gun owners will shoot them in a heart beat. bho fears armed soldiers. This is the beginning of disarming soldiers to being in his citizens army.

Time for Rick Perry to stand up and be counted – he’s inviting all these weapons manufactures to Texas – He should be protecting the rights of Citizens.

  • Tionico

the gauntlet has clearly been thrown down. What incident will escalate it to open conflict? It is only a matter of time, unless the oppressors back down, which does not seem likely at this point. They think they’re on a roll, have the solid support of the najority for this illegal behaviour, and will press at every opportunity. At some point, this will lead to another Lexington. The issue then was the same… King George had issued orders to his lackey General Thomas Gage to disarm the colonials. Lexington and Concord was the fourth raid to effect this disarmament. He was found out before he arrived, and had a welcoming party, who assured his leader, Colonel Smith, that they would NOT back down, nor surrender their arms. Gage lost one third of his officers that day, and a large number of his troops. The war was on, and ALL the oppressor’s troops sailed away in defeat. And THAT is the genesis of our second Ammdnement… a well regulated militia (being the self-armed citizens of a given area) being necessary for the security of a free state, the right OF THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall NOT be infringed. Simple. Any third grader can grasp the concept. This man’s harrassers must not have the intelligence of the average third grader… they can’t comprehend simple language. SO WHAT if someone doesn’t like Sarge carying his hunting rifle, and SO WHAT if they don’t care it’s legal? Sarge is not about finding something THEY are doing HE does not like, and declaring THAT illegal when its not… is he? Of course not. We are a natioin of LAWS….. LAW trumps my personal preference. LAW allows this man to carry his rifle openly, whether THEY like it or not. I hope there is a HUGE civil rights lawsuit once he is clear of these charges, and it should include his lost advancement opportunity as specified damages. Time the tyrants get trimmed down a peg or two.
