Obama signs defense funding bill, objects to terror detainee provisions

President Obama signed a $662 billion defense authorization bill Saturday, but the White House attached a lengthy signing statement vehemently objecting to several provisions concerning the detention and prosecution of terror suspects.

The defense bill, which funds a wide range of security programs and sets Pentagon policy, calls for the mandatory military detention of al Qaeda terror suspects and requires a waiver to move them to civilian courts.

“I have signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists,” Obama said in a signing statement.

      From the 9/22/11 statement of the FBI on domestic terrorism:

      “Many militia extremists view themselves as protecting the U.S. Constitution, other U.S. laws, or their own individual liberties. They believe that the Constitution grants citizens the power to take back the federal government by force or violence if they feel it’s necessary. They oppose gun control efforts and fear the widespread disarming of Americans by the federal government.”

      But they also state:

      “simply espousing anti-government rhetoric is not against the law. However, seeking to advance that ideology through force or violence is illegal, and that’s when the FBI and law enforcement become involved.”

      However, they WILL wonder if someone who simply espouses anti-government rhetotic is seeking to advance that ideology through force or violence. This is called being a suspect.

          Martin Ridens: I personally know the truth of the above reply. I had educated several young college students about the communist conspiracy in America, their subversion into every facet of our governments at all levels and our society. I contacted the FBI and explained thatthe mebn wanted to infiltrate communists fronts in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I met with the FBI and was informed that they could not do any investigations or infiltrate anyone into communist fronts. I was shocked! They did say that if anyone voluntarily joind a front, then they could accept any information voluntarily given to them. The men joined, but couldn’t receive ay pay, because than the FBI would have to explain where the money went. The men received no pay, no medles, and no recognition like a soldier might receive, yet they helped to defend our country. Since the death of J. Edgar Hoover, the commies probably know who we all ar now. I told the men that they would be put on the liqudation list, as am I, if the Reds ever learned who they are. Some of these men were drafted, and when they went through security checks, they were then used to infiltrate anti-war demonstrators base gates.

            Matin Ridens: At the time Sen Frank Church’s committee stopped FBI invetigations, there were over 43,000 cases under investigation. All were stopped, except for 52. The others remained in America. They were American citizens or here on visas. Each communist is to recruit and train ten others, which means that that 43,000 could then become 4,300,000, and when they train ten more, it comes to 43,000,000.             I absolutely agree with your analysis. I tried to inform people about my research years ago and the resistance is very strong. Heads are very deep in the sand when it comes to socialist indoctrination. But the overbearing force of big government and the problems it has created is catchy and can be broken down into short enough bits that some people will listen, so I am currently focussing on this approach.

        The FBI can state what they want BUT, ” but whenever any Form of government becomes destructive of these (life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness) ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it”. Sound familiar? It is in the Declaration of Independence. Read it when you get a chance. It gets better.

        And while I’m at it, what makes this country exceptional? The governed receive their inalienable rights from God not the government. This makes us unique in history as the first nation to espouse such thoughts. These rights are self evident and imutable. Now what has been happening in Washington for the past 3 years and do a lesser degree in the decades preceding the current administration? In light of that, who can justify that we have no right to restore our liberties?

          What you fail to say is that Obama wanted the detention of American citizens at his whim as a part of this bill and that was public news partner! Both conservatives and a few liberals in the house blocked it. The president’s power over American citizens though more limited and constrained, can and will remain effective under vaguely worded and little precedence in our martial laws and the Patriot Act. This president, as well as Bush was, is famous for ignoring laws or interpreting them as they see fit.

          This president does not want to leave office this year and will go to any extreme to accomplish this. Mark my word that if your idol sees that he may lose you will see a fabricated event (contrived riots, etc.) to extend his authority. The neo-left, George Soros, and other nuts will assure that he doesn’t leave office using any means possible. The ground work for voter fraud is already under way.

          We will see if this is correct in the next 9 months. I sincerely hope I am wrong. The only way this country will reverse a downward course is to get Obumo and his band of merry Chicago thugs out.

      Renegade: Since our invasion of Iraq we heard or read over and over again the word insurgent, then terorist, and sometimes guerrilla. An insurgent is a citizen of a country that has joined other citizens in an upricsing against their own government. A revolution. Under International Law, an insurgent is a non-combatant. An independent government, having its own lwas, could consider the revolutionaries as tresonist criminals, trators. If sympathizers from outside the country, and who arn’t citizens of the country, are mercenaries, guerrillas, and, therefore, not insurgents and can be considered as guerrillas and combatants. They can also be considered as invaders. When an army, such as the US army invade Iraq, the citiozen, not in the army, can organize into malitias and perform guerrilla attacks on the invading army. This would be a para-military act of war against an invader. When Iraq is defeated, and the guerrillas or malitia begin attacking civilian targets, then that is terrorism. And when mersenaries from outside the country enter the country and become allies of the citizen guerrellas, then they are foreign guerrillas and terorist. Non are insurgents, but all are terrorist guerrillas. Terrorism or para-military actions against an invader are only two guerrilla tactics. There cis much more to the tactics of Guerrilla farfare, but let me say just this: a subversive could infiltrate our government and serve the purpose of
      guerrillas in Iraq or Afganistan or anyplace else. This is a reason why our President, and anyone else in government must swear to uphold our Constitution. Then we can nail them for treason if they are caught aiding and abetting the enemy, who ever he might be.

    So why didn’t he veto it and send it back to Congress? And keep vetoing it until the Bill of Rights was left intact? But no, the Bill of Rights is such a threat to us losing the war against an IDEA, that he would rather run like a coward than to STAND and fight like a true patriot who really loved what America stands for would do.

    This is what we have lost under this new tryanny, this police state enabling act:
    1-No longer are we presumed innocent before trial by jury. And if everyone is no longer presumed innocent then all are guilty BEFORE questioning or trial. And if all guilty then all of our citizenships are nullified, our Bill of Rights having been overthrown and made null and void without due process of the law!
    2-No longer do you have the enumerated right to file a Writ of Habeas Corpus challenging the government’s evidence-or to even see the Bill of Particulars or discovery.
    3-No longer are you to have a lawyer present before questioning in any one of waterboarding, torture chambers they decide they need to extract a confession from you, of which obtaing confessions under threat of your death–or the death of your family members is unconstitutional on its face!
    4-No longer can you have a trial, much less a speedy trial. Thanks to America now becoming a “battlefield” you can be scooped off the streets or forceably arrested right out of your home under the cover of darkness and disappeared on mere SUSPICION alone, detained as “an unlawful enemy combatant –without charges until you die in captivity!

    The Founding Fathers didn’t have to have a house fall on their heads to know tyranny-or to know what to do with the enablers of treason when they saw it. This tyranny cannot stand!

      Robert K. Webb: Japan, Germany and Italy were allies during WW II. We saw them as the axsis powers, the enemy. When we fought one we also fought the others where ever they might be. When we invaded Iraq we fought their army and also their citizen militas, the guerrillas. The guerrillas were our enemy just as much as was the army. All muslims, no matter what country they are from, are all allies to each other. When mercenary muslim guerrillas came into Iraq and joind forces with the Iraq guerrillas, they were just as much the enemy as the home grown guerrillas. And countries that gave the mercenaries aid and comfort and santuary, were also our enemies. But we needed oil and didn’t fight them. Since soldiers in the Iraq army can be captured and interned as Prisoners of War (POW’s), then the guerrillas can also become POW’s. So whoes jurisdiction does the POW’s come under? During WW II, guerrillas, being out of uniform, could be excecuted on the spot, or interned. Further more, the guerrillas arn’t commiting only para-military actions against our troops, but terrorist actions against civilian targets. Terrorist come under the jurisdiction of the Iraq government, or our military government (G-5) and the Adjutant General. The para-military guerrillas come under the jurisdition of our Army. In our government we have had too damn many subversives that want us to go to war, but now win wars. They want us to lose our independence, and become members of the New World Order, the Global Union. For the sake of our country, don’t vote for any liberals, like Gingrich, Romney or Perry, the phony conservatives, or we’ll just have to end up having a revolution. We need a Constitutional Conservative. We need Ron Paul!

      It’s called the Sampson Doctrine. If Congress does not obey his lordship they have been threatened with the total collapse of this nation, meaning the columns will come crashing down around all our heads. Hence, the term Sampson. Congress was already threatened publicly with martial law if they didn’t pass the 2008 bailout. God only knows what sorts of threats and threatening promises are made behind closed doors.     1-”…Obama’s signature caps months of wrangling over how to handle captured terrorist suspects without violating Americans’ constitutional rights…”
    2-”…The new law now requires military custody for any suspect who is a member of al-Qaida or “associated forces”…”
    So if you take the underlined words they actually say:
    1. months of wrangling how to handle violating Americans’ constitutional rights
    So President Obama’s has ‘Legally’ found, in their delusional interpretation of law, a way to Violate our Rights!
    2. military custody for any “suspect” or “associated forces”
    The words ‘suspect & associated forces’ does NOT EXEMPT American Citizens!!
    President Obama goes on to say separately that American Citizens would not be held by the Military and would still have a Trial by Jury!
    Nowhere in the Law does it say American cannot be a suspect or associated forces

      I read it the same way you do Bobby. This is the ultimate proof of his intent: They haven’t built over 600 FEMA internment/detention/concentration camps under the heads of 10 regions–for nothing. If they don’t intend to use them, then why do they keep “classified” the presence of hundreds of guillotines, crematoriums and hundreds of thousands of coffins? If not meant for us then who are they for? Are we so threatening or “terrorizing”to our own government that they need to prepare such means of mass extermination, I’d like to know what it is about Americans they hate without a cause so much that they are willing to start a civil war over it. If they are for us, then that’s the same thing as a declaration of war against the American people and therefore, in the absence of open rebellion/insurrection it is a blatant act of treason in the highest degree!

        The tell tale signs of something being wrong with the FEMA camps is that (a) they are being built on military bases, and (b) if you will observe closely the tops of the barb wire fences are turned in not out. This would only be done to keep people in rather than outsiders out.

        If you want the reason start by researching the ‘Cloward-Piven Strategy’.           There’s no future perfect tense in “scary” for me, Dick. I’ve been sleeping with one eye open ever since the ’08 financial collapse. I live in Philly, PA. Just two weeks ago, I heard a very familiar sound to me, as I do volumes of research on these matters daily while we still have an uncensored internet. With the kill switch within his lordship’s fingertips, you never know when the hammer’s going to fall. Once this window closes, total lockdown is surely to follow with a vengeance!     Let’s not forget that John McAmnesty cosponsored this bill and agrees with the contents. Also rino Lindasy Graham also supports this bill. They feel that it is ok for American citizens to be arrested, detained forever, no trial, tortured, killed, and made to disapear at the whim of one of them making a complaint. The whole congress must be replaced! And lets not forget the ones who voted with these traitors and slave makers for this bill! Our only hope is that the military will turn the tables on these promoters of slavery and tryanny and arrest the ones who will give the orders and not defenseless Americans!

    What I believe is that we should eliminate political correct from our dictionaries and forget about the definition of the term completely. I have a New Websters Dictionary that was printed in 1962 and does not have the term in it. Then I checked a 2003 revised edition that does have the political correct term in it. So when did the one’s responsible come out with this worthless and irresponsible term that covers so much BS that our crooks in Washington hide behind so often? I do not believe there is such a thing as “political Correctness.” I believe one is either right or wrong on any subject, and no wrong can ever make a right, no matter how “political correct” our crooked Washingtonian crooks try to make it. If we demand that the truth be told, no matter how it appears to anyone in government, and that the mainstream media report the news in it’s entirety, then I believe we will once again be able to make the correct choices to turn our country around. But as long as we get lies, half truths and innuendos from both our government and news media, we cannot make intelligent decisions at the polls .
