Ron Paul gets boos from South Carolina debate audience; can he reclaim momentum?

Ron Paul has endeared himself to many by refusing to back down from policy ideas that fall far from the GOP mainstream consensus. In Monday night’s debate, some of those views earned him boos from the audience. As AP reported:

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul says he will make deep cuts to the military budget even though many voters in South Carolina and elsewhere are employed by the military.

The Texas congressman was grilled Monday on his position on military spending during a nationally televised presidential debate. He has called for closing bases overseas and reducing spending on what he calls the military industrial complex.

Paul said he wants to protect military jobs domestically and insists there’s a difference between military spending and a strong national defense.

          • AJ

Yes, we need a puppet president owned by the military. A bloodless coup. I’m being facetious, however…. I can understand what an insult having Obama as commander-in-Chief has been. I can understand the fact that his cutbacks have presented super major hardships to personnel and families. I can understand the desire to get the heck out of overseas assignments where the natives can be unappreciative, don’t want you there, and will try to kill you if they can. But swinging the pendulum to the opposite spectrum isn’t a good thing either. A freedom-loving country lorded by a communist dictator is wrong. A freedom-loving country run by the military with a doddering old puppet president for a mouthpiece is just as wrong as it can be too.

It is interesting that Ron Paul has so much character and high level competence that Gingrich supporters can only resort to name calling and lies. It does not say very much for the candidate that you support.

      • Pat

You know that Ron Paul is getting under Obama’s skin when Obama and the Dems have their Obamabots showing up at Paul meetings to create rude and childish disruptions. Obama trolls are posting their master’s talking points in conservative newsletter comment areas trying to rile other posters. They would be more believeable if they could spell, write coherent sentences and do more than call others names or insist that Bush is the problem. Bush was no angel, but Obama is the devil’s spawn. He won’t rest until the country is a third world country and his buddies, special interests and his big donors have sucked all the money they can out of the US Treasury.

          • Pat

McCain was a token Republican candidate, a stodgy old man competing with a young and personable black man. His main claim was that he had been a prisoner of war. The Republican party sold out America when they refused to stand up and demand that Obama be vetted like McCain was. They had their chance and they dropped the ball. They have a second chance to rectify that by pressuring states to require that Obama prove his eligibility before he can get on the ballot in each state. In 2008, most states just took the signed statement from Nancy Pelosi that he was eligible and did not ask for proof from him. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Gee, I wish I knew what he was talking about. As much as I have tried to “like” him as a candidate, I continue to find him totally incoherent on a very important issue, foreign policy.

His last debate, I didn’t understand anything he said about that subject. He was totally and literally incoherent.

      • Mike

As I recall, he said we should practice the Golden Rule to Iran. Really? Does anyone with a brain or common sense think that Iran will respond to that? I’m sorry Paulbots, this guy is an angry old man who is an isolationist in a very dangerous world and could really care less whether the rest of the world blows up or not. We really need a balanced candidate and Paul is very unbalanced and should never hold public office again.

        • Kenjo

        -Mike

      • mrcave

        Daylo,

To me, this is the most important election we have seen. Much too important to rely on what we see from the debates. In my opinion, Dr. Paul doesn’t make his case clearly to those who don’t already understand his position. The debates are not a format that allows for explaining the historical, Constitutional, political, and practical reasons backing his ideas.

I didn’t take Dr. Paul seriously until I read his book, The Revolution: A Manifesto. I highly recommend it. It is a short, easy read that will help you understand his position. You may not agree with it, but at least you will really know his thoughts, and why he, and his supporters are so frustrated with the direction our government has been taken, by BOTH parties.

I would also hope that you would visit his campaign site, http://www.ronpaul2012.com/the-issues/ for a brief overview of his positions. I encourage every one to visit the sites of all candidates.

If after a bit of reading, you decide that Ron Paul is not your candidate, fine.

      • Katie

Educate yourself in economics and Ron Paul will be easier to understand. It is those of us who limited our education to public schooling who find Ron Paul difficult to understand. Start by reading “The Law” by Bastiat.

      • Rhondar

The golden rule….let me explain….it’s do unto others as you would have them do unto you…..is that coherent enough for you?

      • shef

daylo get the media out your ears and listen to ron paul

    • Elaine

You are making that up. He only get 4% of the Military vote.

People who are almost fanatics about Ron Paul are actually hurting his chances because they become so vicious on blogs.
The problem, however, is that 98% of those emails are from obviously hastily registered email addresses at any number of free email service providers. In email after email the message is the same, word for droning word. Checking the IP Addresses in the email headers shows that many of these messages are being sent from the same computer under different emails. One enthusiastic Paulbot sent me the same message, under different Gmail addresses, thirty-seven times within the span of three hours. He even forgot to change his signature every time he sent it. So, “B. Anderson”, and I know you are reading this, try to at least be a little less obvious next time, ok? And you folks honestly wonder why I make fun of you?

      • Katie

Educate yourself, Elaine. The enthusiasm is there because finally we have a candidate worth supporting, a candidate the media and public schools didn’t produce. Learn economics and you will see that only Ron Paul has a chance of saving this country. The others will collapse the economy and Republicans will get blamed. It is a mathematical certainty.

        • Kittyg

          Yes! Ron Paul 2012!

    • Ralph

Stop Lying Paulbot Liar as the US Military can not contribute or participant in Paristan

Ralph, maybe your savior ROMNEY will give you $50, just ask!

    • patriotrenegade

      stop the lying-stop

    • David

Don’t know where you are getting your information, but I am military, and I don’t know of a single other person that supports Paul. Almost all support Gingrich and a few Perry.

      • Jilli67013w

David I am retired military and I support Ron Paul and so do some of the other military I know.

      • Katie

I have at least 10 military friends who support Ron Paul. Look for those who choose to read in their spare time.

      • C.Davis

David, nobody here is saying that everybody in the military is intelligent, informed, or moral. All they are saying is that according to the federal election commission, more than twice as much is donated to Ron Paul’s campaign by active duty and retired military who are willing to put up or shut up than all other candidates combined including Obama. I am sorry that all your friends are willing to rely on the military-industrial complex to support their freedom of speech. Perhaps it’s time to cultivate some new friends.

    • John Barlow

I agree Paul knows what he is talking about. ex-army and I agree with him. It will be a shame that they can’t get that Europe station to tour Europe. But we shouldn’t be there anyway. And now that we have a bomb that can hit anything in the world in one hr flat… whats the point!!!

    • Phil

You dummies who keep reciting the claim that wRONg PAUL gets more support from active military than any other candidate miss a very important point: soldiers are not thinkers; In fact, they are specifically trained NOT to think on their own. The cited claim is hardly a recommendation to vote for wRONg PAUL or in favor of wRONg PAUL’s foreign policy or defense plans. Again, the ‘soldier’ demographic is mostly 18 – 25, a demographic whose members don’t know their ass from their elbow, though the military kids may be better than most in that demographic as suggested by their willingness to wear the uniform, though I’m sure many military wRONg PAULers are the ones who signed up for college aid & are unhappy w/ the fact that they were called to actually serve.
My God!! How terrible!! Soldiers actually asked to do what they signed up to do!!

      • C.Davis

Our new poopie pants type commenter is so blinded by his hatred for Ron Paul that he settled on an indefensible argument. By definition those in the military or any other demographic for that matter who make political contributions would be more likely to be someone who 1. cares about who their commander in chief is enough to be willing to follow him into battle if nescessary, 2.Be smart enough and duty conscious enough to know that they should sacrifice some of their hard earned salary to support their choice, and 3. recognize that this issue should outweigh a trip down to the PX, or any of the myriad of things a young soldier might be tempted to spend his pittance on. Mr. poopie pants would characterize this kind of person as a dummy. The other point Mr. poopie pants seem to be ignorant of is that that demographic contains a lot of retired and reserve military. I think he will find that his idea that soldiers are taught not to think is about the most benighted statement of all that he has vomited out upon us here, next to the implication that those going to school would shirk their duty. If this thread weren’t already fairly inactive I have a feeling that I wouldn’t be the only one with smoke coming out my ears. He should hope there are no remote viewers taking notice of him, and that they’ve not had their Phil of him.
Apparently our humble board has been visited by the great Henry Kissinger.

        • Phil

          @ CDavis:
Your premises are all wRONg, which suggests that you are a Dummycrat is shit’s clothing, posing as a wRONg PAULer.

Your most obvious folly: Soldiers are SPECIFICALLY trained NOT to think for themselves but to respond to situations per their training. Any enlistee who does not conform to the imperative that he follow orders, regardless of their content, (in other words, someone who thinks for himself) is simply and always considered NOT MILITARY MATERIAL. ANYONE w/ an ounce of brains (oops! You’re excluded) knows that to be an uncontroversial locution.

NEXT, the statistic cited refers to wRONg PAUL getting more contributions than other candidates from ACTIVE MILITARY. So your comment adding “a lot of retired and reserve military” to the ‘demographic’ AGAIN reveals you to be as stupid & confused as Dummycrats, & thus you’re incapable of sticking to the subject. There’s a term for this handicap: psychologists might call it ADD w/ associated retardation, Hollywood calls it ‘Forrest Gump’, & laypeople just call “being stupid”.

NEXT: If you had even an ostrich’s awareness of today’s youth, you would know that there is nothing they shirk more than responsibility. They are all on board when they’re RECEIVING, but most are nowhere to be seen when it’s time to pay the piper. For most kids today, the battery going dead on their iPads or iPhones constitutes a major crisis.

Lastly, I don’t ‘hate’ wRONg PAUL. He’s just dangerously naive on two all-important issues, namely, foreign policy & national defense. Your blind fawning over him pigeon-holes you into a category of stupid usually reserved for Dummycrats. You are likely one of the said same kids to whom I’ve referred as not knowing their ass from a hole in the ground, which is why you’ve genuflected so uncontrollably to my rational post. As a kid, you have no idea of just how little you know, while you blindly go about your business thinking that you’ve got it together. THAT, sonny, is the time-tested, hallmark sign of immaturity.

There are two good things I can say about wRONg PAUL: 1. his ideas about the Fed. are worth very careful review; and 2. Anybody but Oduma!! (even RP).

  • CaptTurbo

I agree with Dr. Paul. We could certainly reduce spending without weakening our defense.

    • Robert A L

In Fact, closing bases overseas in many cases will lower the need for Defense spending as those bases are often the issue of contention.

Home of the brave! We all know it is the coward who strikes first as his fears scare him into aggressive action. Preemptive wars are not acts of bravery though the men who are in them must rely on the personal bravery. My point is cowardice drives preemptive war doctrines while the soldiers who go into foreign lands to fight are among our bravest souls!

    • JRRS

You are just as stupid as he is. Ron Paul is an isolationist who does not want a military and would abandon our allies, and allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. Try as you might you cannot reinvent a 40 year record as a Libertarian, 26 years in the House, 9 books, and two earlier runs at the presidency. He is a liberal of the first waters, always has been. Every hear a conservative say he wants open borders, legalized drugs, thinks the U.S. provoked the 9-11 attack, or favors on demand abortion?

      • Kenjo

jrrs my what a ignorant or is it just plain stupid troll you are.

        • C.Davis

It’s just a paid poopie pants.

      • vincent

So JRRS, put on a uniform and turn off Fox News. Go thru boot camp and maybe you can head off to Africa or South Asia. WTH, volunteer for Iran! You are so brave behind the keyboard.

How about using the military to protect our own borders?! That is the entire purpose of a national defense!! We have MS-13, drug lords, and other garbage streaming across our borders, ruining our medical system, crowding our prisons, getting welfare and legal assistance on our dime. JRRS wants to leave our borders open just to keep the wars going. You are so smart.

Anyone who objects to Trillions of dollars down the Iraqi sewers, thousands of maimed young men, and NO OIL TO SHOW FOR IT, is an isolationist in the eyes of the armchair Rambos.

Nothing like a bunch of Internet chickenhawks to send OTHER PEOPLE to get their faces blown off so that we can help rebuild mosques and install a Shariah-friendly dictator!!

Dozens of military bases all over the world, and a military that pays KBR $16 a plate for every meal. We have to print money, raise taxes, borrow from China, just anything to avoid the isolationist label from the NEOCON golfers and alcoholics in the Beltway.

        • Phil

          JRRS:
Don’t let these kids knock you, JRRS. They’re not very bright. They have no clue whatsoever of how little they actually know. They think their ability to navigate the internet & their iPads deftly makes them smart. Keep in mind that they are products of the worst educational system this country has seem, as standards have just dived in recent decades. Most of them actually think that Bill Maher, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart & the like offer keen political opinion & that these ‘comics’ (idiots who think sarcasm & insults are funny; Oh, Johnny Carson, how we miss ya!) are “genuises”.
Accordingly, insults from these kids should be taken as if they were spewed by 1st-graders, namely, w/ a grain of salt.
Forgive them, JRRS, for they know not what to think.

      • Kittyg

No, he is no isolationist! He just believes that Europeans, So. Koreans, Japanese, Middle Easterners, etc. should pay for their own defense and that their boys should be the ones dying on the front lines for their own defense! Take your war mongering somewhere else!

Ron Paul and America’s Alleged Racism

Read this article, check it out for facts and then decide.

  • http://facebook pat

he got booed half way through his reply,,by the end of the reply there was great applause..the media has blanked this out and again trying to make him look bad..
    watch the whole debate..

    • http://captelaine.blogspot.com Elaine Magliacane

I was there, he was booed because he went WAY over the 1 min 30 second time limit, and kept talking on and on and on and on in circles saying the same nonsense over and over… people at first were yelling BELL… as it TIME out… finally they just booed… it had NOTHING to do with WHAT he said.

      • RebelRich76

I rewatched the debate and started timing how long each talked. Paul didn’t even come close the Romney, Santorum and Gingrich in exceeding the 1:30 limit. I recorded all 3 of them routinely exceeding that limit, some with times up to almost 4 minutes of perpetual talk with hardly even 1 limiting comment from the audience or the host. Additionally, during the first ’50’ minutes of the debate, Paul had only 1 question given to him and responded with about a 1 minute answer and then was ignored from then on. So don’t you even tell me that there wasn’t an obvious bias at this event, and that doesn’t include the first 25 minutes being given predominately to Romney with combative input almost exclusively from just Santorum and Gingrich to do the scripted dog and pony show against Romney. The numbers don’t lie and your emotional bias’ speak very poorly of you.

        • Daylo

If Paul had more time, he would be cutting his own throat more rapidly. He is totally and literally incoherent.

          • Elaine

Daylo, he was born in August 1935. That puts him close to 80 yrs old. With all the stress of the job of President — it would kill him; and we need someone to run that will be in the Oval Office for two terms.
The first term is to “undo” all of Obama’s damage; and the second term to build America back to her greatness again.

Ron Paul’a own followers are actually hurting his chances. They are vicious and condescending. “Birds of a feather flock together.”

          • Mike

This man could talk for 30 minutes and it wouldn’t change my opinion of what he stands for. Libertarians are Conservatives on steroids and then they are very leftist appeasers on foreign policy. Not a good combination and not good for the country.

          • Ralph

Amen Exactly Right! Ron Paul is a serial loser having ran
for President twice before and LOST! And he will lose in
2012 as well. And I say your being too polite as crazy old
fool Ron Paul is worst then just totally and literally
incoherent! Go Away Ron Paul and Never Come Back!

          • Amy Davis

Your ears apparently have a problem. He is entirely coherent, consistent and Constitutional. Perhaps your eyes would serve you better. Go to his website and read his positions. He is not an isolationist; he is a non-interventionist. Perhaps you’re too young to remember the days when children were allowed to settle their differences on the playground without intervention. They usually became friends afterwards. We are intervening in internat issues that are none of our business, and thereby making enemies of both sides in many cases. Thomas Jefferson put it succinctly: Allies with none and trade with all.

        • John Barlow

Your right. There has been a black-out because everyone knows he will do what he says and he has been very coherent in his points, normally getting cheers from the crowd when he does get time to say anything. The socialist knows the Paul is the “End Game” player, He will end their game and get us back to the Constitutional Republic that we were formed as.

        • Kittyg

As usual! The lamestream media keeps trying to make Ron Paul disappear! Not this year! Enough!

      • Katie

Aha, this is the problem Ron Paul has- he has to try to compensate for 12+ years of public indoctrination with a minute and a half of economics education.

    • Dingbat36

We know, we know, everyone in the entire country who doesn’t endorse Ron Paul Is an idiot! He’s going to see a lot more BOOING before this is over and he better get used to it. He’s NOT a Republican and doesn’t belong in this primary race. The only reason he’s in the Republican primary is because he tried it with the Loony Libertarian Party and saw exactly how far he got that way. Even conservative media analysts say he’s done.

      • Joseph C Moore, USN Ret

Ron Paul is not a NEOCON REPUBLICAN, he is a CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE! That is what our forefathers envisioned for our REPUBLIC, not the government of many decades of degradation of the Constitution of the United States.

        • Lucky1

Ron Paul is a POS just like Obama… Show us all his great accomplishments since he has been in Washington… He does have a great backing, all the dope heads across the country and all the dope cartells for his donations…

          • Ralph

And Old Fool Ron Paul is totally out of touch with reality
and a complete fool and even more insane then Messiah
Barack Hussein Obama! Just Say NO to Ron Paul Again!

          • John Barlow

Actually the cartels want to keep Paul out because if drugs ever become legal it will put them out of business just like the lifting of prohibition put most of the bootleggers out of business and it cut the mobs money. I’m for Paul and I’m just a old rancher in central Texas. Some of his backers are like me Educated (2 B.A.’s) don’t drink don’t do drugs own a little bit of land with a bunch of cows. I guess you could say that I am semi-retired. I also want America to get back to the Constitutional Republic that we started out as and Ron Paul can do it.

        • Elaine
          • Katie

Elaine, please read the Constitution. Learn why it is vital that states have the right to legally separate from the union. Thanks to the “Civil War,” many blacks died immediately after the war. There was hatred and resentment for more than 100 years afterward that only a war creates.

Do you think Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Tibet should be able to legally separate from China? Should we force the Czech Republic and Slovakia back together, in your opinion? Non-violent succession is vital to freedom.

        • azwayne

Thank you for accurate definitions and explanation. I think what is really neede CONSERVATIVES, need to learn they are NOT necessarily Republican. The two parties have controlled America long enough. DEMS and REPUBLICANS are LIBERAL government controlling parties. Signing up as a member doesn’t change the party heads. It’s time for TRUE CONSERVATIVE party and we will see it before election time, whether sheeple want it or not The propaganada machine will try to keep them down. but conservatives truly demanding constitution will start to get organized.

      • Ralph

Fully Agree! Ron Paul ran and lost twice already and will lose again in
2012! No Thanks No Ron Paul!

        • John Barlow

Romney like obama violates Article II Section 1 paragraph 5. Its unconstitutional for either one to be in the Whitehouse. Now ol Newt ha ha he is pro one world order using us as a world police and turning us into a police state within our own boarders. now Santorum I don’t really know much about but that the “super christians” like him so I don’t.

        • C.Davis

Don’t worry Ralph, I’m sure your bonus is in the mail.

      • AJ

You forgot a few choice words and phrases coming from the Paul-elites, Paulettes, Paulbots, Paul-bearers, or whatever you wish to call them. If you don’t stand, wobble, or totter with Paul, then you: 1.) MUST be a neo-con, 2.) MUST be against the Constitution, 3.) MUST be against the military, 4.) MUST be a plant or psy-op, 4.) MUST be bigoted against old people, 5.) MUST be voting for the party instead of the man, 6.) MUST be illiterate or ill-informed because if you *just* listened to him or “researched and investigated” an on-line article you would be swayed, etc., etc., etc., etc. ad infinitum nauseum.

If Paul doesn’t turn your stomach, his “legions of fans” will. Scary thought that, “legions of fans” thing is. Perish the day.

There are seeming contradictions in the arguments which should be noted: their points that a.) military personnel overwhelmingly support Paul, and b.) anyone who disagrees that he is the ONLY candidate must of necessity be a plant or psy-op. To rebut, _IF_ the military supports Paul more than all the other candidates combined, who is in the best position to be “plants” on these multitudinous message boards, and to be and psy-ops (psychological warfare operatives)? Doesn’t the military have entire sections devoted to increasing the morale of our troops and breaking down the morale of the enemy? You reckon they MIGHT be the WELL-TRAINED OPERATIVES here? What are the possibilities of a silent, bloodless coup via election? What are the odds of a military, which has been cut and shredded by Obama, attempting a governmental take-over by setting up a puppet-Paul? Now that they are being pulled in increasing numbers back to the states, their votes will actually count for something because they will be here to cast them, instead of absentee ballots which meant zip/nil/nada in the last election.

Excellent article Elaine, January 18, 2012 at 3:42 pm .

A small but very dedicated few are behind the big Paul push-up, I truly believe. Of the many followers who wade in behind them, I do NOT doubt their sincerity. But I think a lot of psychological ‘projection’ is happening where the Constitutional beliefs of the believers are imagined in great detail to be coming from the leader. It is as if they have created their god in their own image rather than, if you will, to borrow one of their phrases, “researched and investigated” him to find truth. Paul is a “Constitutional Conservative” because he SAYS he is, and because his followers WANT to believe it, and will find every excuse to justify their argument while ignoring everything on the opposite side of the ledger. The only people better programmed are the minions of Satan, er Obama that is, who are still able to ignore the evidence against their false saviour.

Have no fear, if the above has any merit at all, you will hear it again. Only, the Paulbots will have twisted it for their own ends. 90% of the reasoning and sound-bites in an election are hijacked from other parties. Ever notice that “famous sayings” by many candidates were practically stolen from their opposition? Funny that.

        • John Barlow

Most of the people that I have met that like Ron Paul are Constutionalist and normally educated with at least one degree. These are also people who are self-starters that have taken upon themselves to learn what our country was founded to be and where we need to go to get back on track with our founding fathers dream. And AJ you are actually quite long winded for a troll!

          • C.Davis

He is the supervisor and was called in to pick up the slack from the other ACORN or project mockingbird operatives because their “poopie pants” diatribes are wearing so thin as to be transparent. His comment amounts to a little more sophisticated version of the poopie pants genre, but poopie pants, nevertheless.
Of course the dishonesty of these people will not permit them to admit that Ron Paul supporters actually put their money where their mouths are, while their same ol’ same ol’ candidates can only inspire the philanthropy of the giant banks and military-industrial conglomerates, so it’s cheap enough for them to hide behind their keyboards and snipe at the real patriots. So what else is new, and why am I not surprised?

          • AJ

My janitor has at least one degree. Who DOESN’T have a plaque on the wall? Honest. You don’t have to be educated to be an idiot, but it certainly won’t hurt your job prospects. Recall the conclusion of early polling data last election indicated the wealthiest and smartest voters were pulling for Obama. They got all that from a survey of college students at a Wisconsin university. The “smart” voters did us a solid with Obama. If a college degree is all what counts for intelligence, this country won’t survive many more favors. Long-winded? Something more than cutesy bedtime stories tucker you out? For an amoeba you are especially gifted. Keep on towing that Libertaritard line: You are the ONLY one with any insight into the “founding father’s dreams.” Go play in the street for awhile why dontcha?

        • C.Davis

Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to categorically refute every article of unmitigated tripe you’ve cobbled together out of your think tank ivory tower, but suffice it to say , with unalloyed sincerity, that you are the prince of poopie pants.

          • AJ

Coming from the Grand Poo-poobah, I consider that a compliment. Good-day to you Sire Scheiße.

Ron Paul and America’s Alleged Racism
By Dennis Prager (Archive) · Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Read the article above. It is on the internet. Check the facts of the article and then decide.

    • Phil

      @ pat & Elaine Magliacane:
You wRONg PAUL apologists are simpletons, & I mean that not in a derogatory way but rather as a matter of fact.
pat: The only reason the audience began cheering at the end is b/c wRONg heard the boos & switched to his talking points on the war & “bringing home the troops & we ain’t got the money” blah blah blah. But the crowd definitely nailed him w/ boos for his other views.
Elaine: You’re just as dopey as ‘pat’, & again, I’m not being unkind, merely empirical. Every one of the candidates went over the time limit on just about ALL their answers.

Wake up!! Both of you … and all you other wRONg PAULers: Your guy is a nut case: Over 600 bills introduced by him in the House and only 1 passed, which says that he is way out of the mainstream thinking. In California’s legislature, they have a state senator known as “One-Bill, Gil” (Gil Cedillo) b/c he has never had a bill passed & he keeps re-introducing the same bill: To allow illegal immigrants in Cal. to obtain drivers licenses. wRONg PAUL reminds me of One-Bill Gil … a narrow-minded, naive man, which is why RP attracts so many naive supporters: digging beneath the surface & connecting the dots is a task too tall for most all of them.

  • Dagny

Those people booed when Rep. Paul invoked the Golden Rule. The Golden Rule! What sort of people, statistically overwhelmingly supposedly Christian, boo the Golden Rule? I hope, since they have had time to think, they are thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

    • Kathy

It is appalling to see the American people become savage beasts. I disavow this anti-sovereign sentiment toward other nations. We need to control our own borders and maintain our freedoms, and teach American exceptionalism in our schools. Bring back the American way!

    • 57 girl

I’ve come to the conclusion that some people are so brainwashed by the ‘terror’ message that they are beyond help. It should be obvious to anyone that if any other Nation came to America and did to us what we do to them, we would wage all out war on them. Hell, we do that anyway . . . in case they might be a problem for us at some point in the future. I am sure other Nations look at us as being the true terrorists since we are the ones always beating the beehive. And I have no doubt that America’s greatest enemies for the most part reside in Washington D.C. Ron Paul is not included in that head count, as he is one of the few, if not the only Representative that truly wants to bring our troops home.

      • Daylo

        Boo!

      • Elaine

He wants to isolate the U.S. from the rest of the world.

        • Ralph

And the 1920s and 1930s Proved Isolationism Does Not Work!
It got us into WW 2 as well as gutted our own US Military exactly
what crazy old fool Ron Paul wants to do again now!

          • Anthony San Diego

Isolationism didn’t get us into WW II and I suspect you know that and if you don’t then read history and learn that the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor did that. Doesn’t matter if FDR knew or didn’t know about it, it was still an act of war.

        • Anthony San Diego

He never said that, you did.

        • Katie

No, he wants to strengthen the US. In this global market, economics has shown over and over again that free trade leads to more prosperity and fewer enemies.

A country that is as weak economically as the US can not be a long-term military threat. We must stop military blowback by pulling back and STRENGTHENING our military. This is what Ron Paul supports. There is so much waste in government that it is not difficult to strengthen a program while spending less, I assure you.

      • azwayne

American federal government through CIA made IRAN what it is, they made and built Taliban, they made and grew ALQUEADA, they were never there until America started making middle east there propaganda subject.

      • Kittyg

So true! Apparently all these other ignorant folks love the idea of paying for the defense of Europe, So. Korea, Japan, etc. and also the idea of our boys dying on the front lines for their defense….certainly not ours!

    • Daylo

I am not ashamed of questioning the Golden Rule when it comes to other countries. These countries are NOT going to live by the Golden Rule! This man is delusional! Yes, it would work in a perfect world. NOT in this world as we know it. Paul would literally make us sitting ducks to the rest of the world.

      • Ralph

Spot On Just Like Happened Before WW 2 as well!

      • Anthony San Diego

Please explain how Ron Paul would make us sitting ducks? He stated he is for a strong military, but he doesn’t want our boys to be the world’s policemen. Is that so hard to understand or are you a troll? Do you want to see your friends and relatives coming home minus their limbs, or blind, or burned? How about your sons, want to see them using a wheelchair for the rest of their lives just to prove how macho YOU are? Ask any soldier who has been in a war zone and he/she will tell you that war is hell.

      • Kittyg

Really, so you think it’s great for us to invade and bomb other countries who have not been proven to have harmed us….even though we can’t afford it…even though we have not declared war….even though we are not going to establish “democracy” in those countries….only leave them with millions dead and their country destroyed for no purpose other than seeing our boys dying on battlefields which accomplish nothing except maybe getting Soros and his crew the natural resources of those countries! Gee you are really a great person!

  • Russ

Ron Paul needs to explain his wanting to legalize drugs in this next
    debate. The enemy
is using this against Mr. Paul, scaring old folks and others not so
    bright to the games
the republican party plays. It is imperative that Ron Paul gets the
    point out
on his foreign policy and drug stance ….in simple terms so that even a
    flunky will get it.

If it was me, I would look up the figures on money and lives spent
    fighting the war on drugs,
what percentage it started at and what percentage it is now. Then I
would explain how it has been
a losing battle and has cost more to enforce than just to let it be. I
    would also show how
we could offer basically cheap drugs and therefore take the profit out
    of selling drugs, therefore
stopping the violence and the profit that leads to violent drug wars and
    victimization of citizens
due to a drug users need for money to buy illegal drugs.

It is issues like these two, left unexplained, that will help defeat Ron
    Paul.

Just my opinions as an outsider looking in.

Lastly, I would announce to the media through rumors a choice for a VP,
    someone like Judge Napolitano,
Alan West of Florida….or whoever you believe can bring more votes to
your candidacy. I would talk to
those two I just mentioned and see how they feel about a VP spot. I see
both as a big boost to
the Ron Paul campaign that could help shore up a lot of stray votes.
    Stop playing by the republican
party crooked rules of engagement. Instead blow them away at every turn
    with a new twist.

We can win, if Paul and his campaign advisers really want to win…BUT
YOU HAVE TO STEP IT UP
A LITTLE TO GET THE EDGE ON THE REST BY SHOWING YOUR UNIQUE WAY OF
TAKING CHARGE AHEAD OF EVERYONE ELSE.

    RUSS~~
I AM YOUR BIGGEST SUPPORTER IN SPIRIT.

“policy ideas that fall far from the GOP mainstream consensus”
What is the GOP mainstream consensus? I’m missing something, I thought the GOP believed in the Constitution & the Bill of Rights. I thought the GOP believed in the “Republic for which it Stands”. Can someone help me out here?

    • Martin Ridens

We’ve been lied to just like the left has been lied to. All in the cause of promoting statism and totalitarianism from both sides of the aisle. The people on the left are not our enemies, they are Americans and we can all unite in the cause of liberty and cast the statists from our midst if we can get over this us vs. them mentality. It’s their leaders who are corrupt and who promote their brand of statism and lie to the people, but so do ours. It’s liberty that matters, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The leaders of both parties don’t seem too interested paying attention to this. We can change that.

      Ron Paul 2012 – The R3volution

      • Cindy Banks

That statement is blatantly false. The democrats have been creating a bigger and bigger welfare state. Dumbing Down America. The largest government increase in history, the building of power of the unions. We may all be Americans, but so many are looking to the government, for all their needs, that they have lost their way. You should see the movie AGENDA. You can order it online, it is an eye opener. And every fact can be proven.

        • Martin Ridens

Obama has created the largest government increase since, Bush. Bush created the largest government increase since, Clinton. etc. And I’ll watch that movie

      • Dingbat36

What a reeking pile of equine fecal matter!!

      • Ralph

NOPE! No Thanks! Just Say No To Crazy Ron Paul Again in 2012!

      • Rhondar

I agree with Martin….it’s not the dems against the republicans…..it’s both parties against the citizens.

      • Kittyg

Yes! Ron Paul 2012! Too hell with the Dems and the Rinos!

    • Cindy Banks

Your right they do. But what Ron Paul alluded to was that we brought on 911. He has stated as such for years. We have been under attack, from that group since the 70’s. Actually Khomeni. He took the rights of all his people. which was then known as Persia. Do you know how many Persians fled to this country and others. Do your history lessons. We had been there trying to keep stability, peacefully, supporting the Shah of Iran. Do your homework.

      • Martin Ridens

“We had been there trying to keep stability, peacefully, supporting the Shah of Iran.”

        Really?

        • Anthony San Diego

Don’t mind Cindy Martin, anyone with an intellectual bent knows her comments are __________ fill in the blank.

      • Sarbaz

America is great because America stands for principals. When America tries to be isolationist and relinquish her duties to Russia and China, then there will be no difference between America and Kenya!
In modern time, Jimmy Carter as the Godfather of Islamic Terrorism, supported Khomeini and stabbed the Shah of Iran in the back (and YES! the best ally that the US had ever had), just as Barrack Obama who supported the Islamic terrorist regime in Iran by keeping his silence and not giving support to the uprising of the people of Iran in 2009.
Now, America cannot afford either Obama or anybody else with Obama’s view in regard of foreign policy in the White House.
If the United States fail, the Globalists Communists Terrorists Vultures will take over the world and will be-slave everyone.
Terrorists won’t stop terrorising and killers won’t stop killing, no matter how much one appeasing them.
America must stand tall and strong to keep the rats from roaming the world!

        • John Barlow

Sorry Paul is not an isolationist. There’s a difference in being an isolationist and just wanting to mind your own damn business. Cost too much for us to keep acting like a mother hen and the world police. In accordance with the NWO we are the World Police and we need to stop it and stop it now! To follow the establishment which is both parties and the media now they all want a one world government.

        • C.Davis

Uh, Sarbaz, I am afraid that you have been misinformed about Iran. The immensely popular Muhammed Mosadech after winning a legitimate electionin 1953 attempted to nationalize the British Petroleum interests there since they were basically stealing their national resource, so the CIA ran a false flag operation, blamed him and installed a brutal fascistic dictator in the hated Shah, which led to overwhelming resentment of American interference and the eventual revolution and “blowback” that as it turns out is immensely useful in hoodwinking our electorate into hating on Iran. This is the history, folks. Not conjecture.

          • Rhondar

Oops sorry C Davis….didn’t see your post….you explained it better than I did.

      • Rhondar

Nope Cindy that’s not quite true. The Shah of Iran was a ruthless puppet we installed after we helped oust the DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED Mosedech guy, who was very anti communist and pro American —but the reason we turned on him was for oil….the company now known as BP and us had Iran’s oil concession, but they weren’t happy with the price we wanted, when they tried to raise it we didn’t take the deal, so they NATIONALIZED their oil and we double crossed them. The Shah was a horrible ruthless dictator and they threw him out years later so we should have learned not to impose regime changes because then we got the allatollahs instead, who are much worse than Mosedech ever was….that’s exactly what they are trying to do in Iran right now….again.

    • Joseph C Moore, USN Ret

The Republican Party is, and has been, run by Neo-Cons (new conservatives) for decades.
These people are big government, nation building expansionists who uniformly belong to the alphabet soup organizations (such as the Council of Foreign Relations -CFR) working toward a World Government. Google these present people and past government executives to learn that nearly all. past and present, have been or are, members of such organizations. This has been going on for 100 years. (!!!)

      • patriotrenegade

totally true, yet Mitt is clean on any involvement in globalist treason in spite of some serious lying by some not all of paul’s people. Based on a tally, paul can’t even win on this page, let alone a general election.

        • Dagny

Since you and many on this page have the political acumen of third graders, I’d expect no less a lie from you. Based on the latest CNN Poll, Paul can beat Obama. But real data will make your pinhead explode.

          • Anthony San Diego

            Thought everybody knew that.

        • John Barlow

actually everyone hasn’t spoken yet. I see a lot of good comments about Paul so far. It is hard for him to get around the socialist press blackout.

      • C.Davis

Actually the Neo con bunch are a manifestation of the covert agenda of the German NA ZI party as promoted and presided over by G.H.W.Bush(see article: http://www.proliberty.com/observer/20070405.htm )
The Nazi party was an alliance of the National Socialist Party (NA) and the Zionist Party (ZI)
Their agenda for the propagation of a eugenical society has dominated American politics with an iron fist since GHWBush’s whack on JFK and attempted whack on Reagan emboldened him to make his infamous “new world order” speeches, parroting his Fuhrer, Adolph Hitler, another Rothschild stooge, as have been all the butchers our world has had to suffer under for the last 235 years.
Our only hope as a civilization is to expose, then put a stop to the perditious mega-megalomaniacs misruling our world. I believe with the blessings of my savior Jesus Christ that it is possible. Otherwise, not so much.
A good start toward disempowering this scourge on the country of the declaration of independence and constitution and bill of rights is the candidacy of Ron Paul. Go, Ron 2012

    • azwayne

Yes you need to admit Republican party is corrupt politicians desiring control over citizens and federal government. It’s time to admit Republican party is NOT Conservative is NOT going to allow COnservative to get in control. With that simple admission a lot of our delusion will become clear.

  • ellen

Ron Paul has some good ideas but he is 80+ years old? All those 80+ year olds in Congress need to be booted out – most of them have dementia especially Reid and Schumer!

    • Robert A L

Ron Paul has been battling the other candidates and the 5 media conglomerates who have been steering our country towards a Corporate Socialist State for years now. I am amazed at his strength and clarity of mind in this epic war. He is an amazing man.

      God Bless Ron Paul !

    • Justwhistlingdixie

ellen ; Either you have dementia, or just ignorant of the facts, or just deliberately lying. Ron Paul is 76 years of age and has one of the best intellects on the planet. But, I will concede he has probably forgotten a hell of a lot more than you know. You obviously have a gross misperception of what dementia actually means
Ron Paul announced many months ago that he was not going to run again for his house seat.
Another fact , Romney is 65 years of age and a senior citizen, is he also too old ?

      • ellen

        Wow, just whistling dixie!
What a dickhead! You apparently are illiterate because you apparently haven’t read my post! Even if I were a Paul supporter (which I am not) I certainly wouldn’t waste my vote on him! Not only is he too old but he is not the right person to lead this country out of the mess it’s in today!
You can vote for whomever you want and I will vote for whomever I want – so, what’s your problem, dick?
Whoever Palin endorses will be my candidate so put that up your ass and smoke it!

        • John Barlow

I tend to agree with his comment.. Your the one that started slamming a good man and his reply was quite accurate. You must be a democrat the first thing they do if you disagree is to say “your illiterate” which is typical for the uneducated.

          • ellen

John, I’m an Independent and PROUD OF IT!!!!!

          • Ruth

John, you sound pretty uneducated to me!!

          • C.Davis

John, you are right. Ellen is a poopie pants.

        • Rhondar

Palin spoke too soon…..Newt’s ex just came out and said he wanted to have an OPEN marriage…there goes all the women’s votes

    • Martin Ridens

Bet he could beat you in a mountain bike race.

    • Joseph C Moore, USN Ret

Agreed that Reid and Schumer need to be booted, but none are 80 years old or suffering dementia. Dr. Paul, for your information, is a very healthy 76 yr old, and has full use of his mental faculties. (Perhaps better than you who discounts age and wisdom acquired with age.)

      • Ralph

And as,former VP & Draft Dodger Dick Cheney says,”SO?”..So what!

        • Oregon Bill

Ralph don’t disparage Dick Cheney , he’s a brilliant man and an astute politician, anyone smart enough to be named CEO of Halliburton is by no measure a loser, wake up and put down the bong.

          • C.Davis

Bill is a poopie pants. That is his reason for being right.

          • Rhondar

            and don’t forget chickenhawk !

      • ellen

Most in congress today are suffering some form of mental challenge!

        • C.Davis

And Ellen should know. She has a degree from poopie pants university.

  • 820 RED HORSE

Paul is shot out!!!! He is un-electable he would lose against biden!! He needs to check in to the nursing home!! Sorry folks hate to be the one to say it , but your beating a dead horse in ron paul. We’d had all better get use to the “ANYBODY BUT oblabber” Idea . I’m no Romney fan or a Newt fan I was for Cain ,but that got washed out. But it is my duty to my country and my fellow patriots to vote for “ANYONE AGAINST oblabber”.Regardless if I have hold my nose while voting!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT!ABO!

    • Robert A L

Phooey! history is filled with examples of men like Ron Paul who “Everybody” thought stood no chance in the end actually won the election, won the game, survived the battle, came back to amaze everyone. So quit throwing banana peels in front of the Ron Paul war wagon and get behind and PUSH!

Ron Paul is our country’s Greatest Hope!

Freeme, There all full of s!@$!!! Thats why their in politics . I realize this, but I’m looking at the glass half full. None of the GOP are what I call 1st stringers,I would’ve loved to see Col.Allen West run,but he’s too smart to jump in this early in his career,I also like Cain ,but you see what happened there. My point is none of the GOP gang are as hellbent on destroying this nation as oblabber and his idiot horde, sadly we have to lose something to gain/keep something, I know Romney is no cherry or Newt either, if I had to make a choice I’d take Newt, but if he does not get the nod it’ll be Mitt, and I would vote for him ,may not like it but I feel it is my duty to vote against the toxic commie in there now who is on the fast track to flushin us down the crapper. GOD BLESS AMERICA!VOTE<VOTE<VOTE!!! ABO!

      • Joseph C Moore, USN Ret

Well, hold your nose and vote, but don’t be surprised that Nothing will change.

        • C.Davis

You are correct sir, the result of the 2012 election will be identical to that of ’08 due to the swing voters buying into the OBL and Iraq drawdown fables, or if Obama succeeds in initiating WWIII. The only exceptions to this conclusion is if Ron Paul is The republican candidate or if he runs third party.

    • Jim

Red Horse, If Ron Paul doesn’t get the nomination Obama wins. Mitt, Ging, San, and Perry are no different around the edges. Paul got 50% of the indi vote, 50% of voters 18-30 and 20% of Dems. These people will stay home if Paul doesn’t win. The game is up and the establishment knows it, why do you think they are trying to pass SOPA. Because the o’reilly’s and the hannity’s of the propaganda machine are toast if it doesn’t go through. The above will grab the baton from obama and nothing except a piling on of more government will proceed. God bless us everyone!!!

You evidently are not old enough to realize what you are saying. I am young at only 68. If one takes care of his body, senility will not come with age. On occasion wisdom does. In less than two years, with God’s help, I have been the primary mover in getting two bills through our state legislature and am currently working on another, along with helping others on several more.
Against my wishes, I am town chariman and running unopposed for county board. I sat on the sidelines for too long. There are other things I would rather do but I was “forced” into office and now have become a public servant. This is too much about me but if one is willing, others will help and correction can be made.
Ron Paul is fully capable of doing the job and also winning the election. Don’t underestimate us old men. Good looks, youth and lies will take us straight to hell.

      • John Barlow

here here! ha ha its scary to know that the little shit is going to live over 100 bitching about old farts now just wait…. . The only one that will bring true change is Paul.

    • MICHAEL

Just holding your nose and voting for the same old same old is not American anymore America has woken up thanks to Ron Paul. You may hold your nose and close your eyes and let the establishment roll over you but not me. I am going into this eyes wide open. Vote for someone who will actually make a difference. Romney, Newt Obama ect. all alike. All love the Patriot Act, Big Government, NDA Act, The Ferderal Reserve, Bail Outs, Tarp and the whole rest of it. The only difference is who they want to give our hard working dollars to. The dems. want to give it to those who don’t want to take care of themselves and their buddies like GM and GE. The Repubs. want to give it to the military industrial complex ans Goldman sachs and wall street. So whats the difference Ron Paul that is the Difference!

Thanks Judge you are so right. The other movie is AGENDA. It is not free, it is $16.95, but it cost money to make movies. Please everyone see it. The Communist Manifesto is alive and well. It wasn’t destroyed with Reagan, it was continuing on destroying from within. Today they call themselves Progressives. So between Jihad and Marxism, we have a big job to do, to bring this country back to the founders dreams.

    • dfrank

Judge, watching that documentary certainly will open people’s eyes, and to lots of things: But, no documentary is ever going to open one’s eyes to everything.

I believe that Red Horse, was more abrasive than necessary in his characterization of Ron Paul, but his broader implication that we should do whatever we can to get Obama out of office is sound advice. If we fail in that, a strong case could be made that we are still misled to some degree.

We might be disappointed with the person we elect; and, there is plenty to suggest that could happen. If that does prove to be the case, however, we’ll just have to try again in 2016; but, I have some serious doubt that we will ever get another opportunity to rid ourselves of Obama, if we do not do it in November of this year.

  • Dusterdog

They have the booers there set up to make him look bad.

    • http://captelaine.blogspot.com Elaine Magliacane

Nope, there were plenty of Ron Paul supporters sitting right behind me, about 5% of the crowd… just like his support… 5%. He got booed because he was going on and on and on and on and saying nothing. He was like a kid that is off his Ritalin he couldn’t focus.

Report: “Ron Paul’s Support Among Military? 4.4% … At Best”
    tinyurl.com/7g3ash7

    • Justwhistlingdixie

If you believe that Ron Paul has only 4.4% “at best” among the military, you probabaly also believe we can spend our way out of debt, bombing and blowing up civilians in countries without a declaration of war, invading sovereign countries, killing American citizens with Drones, using the military to arest American citizens on American soil, even in their homes and sending them to military prisons (gulags), built by FEMA, without a trial, without a search or arrest warrant, without providing defense council, and without explanation of the charges, or without hope of ever being released, is actually a good thing and constitutional. Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Rick Perry also thinks it is Constitutional. As they say , birds of a feather, flock together.”
It is truly sad when people are so willing to have themselves placed in the yokes of and chains of slavery. I do hope you are happy in your servitude to your masters.

        • jeffersonian liberal

Every single person I know who is in the military or former military is a Ron Paul supporter, except those who have taken jobs with contractors that suck from the tit of the status quo.
What should be obvious to everyone is that any candidate who is a threat to the establishment, who doesn’t owe lots of favors and wants to restore a federal government will be chastised by the press and their opponents. Look at Cain and Paul. First they dig up BS then they call names.
If you want anybody but Obama you are playing right into the establishments hands and support Newt, Romney and Santorum all who agree with the status quo and support the loss of freedom through the Fed, the Patriot Act, NDAA, TARP, bailouts and any other silliness dreamed up in Washington. See you in the FEMA camp.

Key to Ron Paul’s Middle East foreign policy is his anti-Semitism (like Obama & Jeremiah Wright). For an insider’s look at Ron Paul’s racist newsletters and a history of leftism & racism in the movement, check out Libertarian Steve Horwitz’s December 23rd article over at Bleeding Heart Libertarians. This Libertarian explains how Ron Paul came to get support from racial supremacist groups like Stormfront and David Duke, made millions in the process, and why Paul’s pic posing with leader of Stormfront is still up on their website. “How Did We Get Here Or Why Do The 20 Year Old Newsletters Matter So Da mn Much”

9thid you are very confused Ron Paul is only worth between 2-4 million dollars which most was made in real estate. As far as the picture of him with the leader of stormfront have you ever been to a Ron Paul rally there are hundreds of people taking their pictures with Dr. Paul he does not ask nor does he have time to ask their affiliation with certain groups. Anybody can get their picture taken with him. Even you a Ron Paul hater. Does that mean he is like you no it does not. Look at the picture you are talking about it wasn’t taken at any kind of racial rally it was taken on the street like any of us would have on taken with Dr. Paul. So spew your lies elsewhere Fool.

      • Thomas

Yes, Ron Paul allows anyone to have a photo taken with him. This is how a president should behave. Government should be for the people, not a government that promises to steal from others to pay its supporters.

Look at what this country has become. Both Republicans and Democrats are no better than legal thieves.

    • Dagny

Are you as vile as you seem, or just stupid? Start your education with Ben Swann’s (the lead co- anchor of KXIX in Cincinnati) “Fact Check.” If you had any intention but libeling a great man, you’d do your homework instead of attempting to mislead people with your delusional smear jobs, your only back- up equally uninformed, delusional people. Libertarian-leaning militarycorruption dot com and others are reporting that Ron Paul’s “showcase soldier” in Iowa not only flaunted UCMJ, but has also been
convicted of felony burglary, weapons charges, and more. Also violated his

      • Elaine

You don’t know much about Ron Paul to be a supporter.
He wants to make drugs and Prostitution legal. Google it!

        • Dagny

You don’t know ANYTHING about Ron Paul to make such an ignorant statement. For example, are you even aware that Prostitution is NOT ILLEGAL on a Federal level? How to you expect him to legalize something that’s already legal?

          • Anthony San Diego

Elaine just mouths off for the sake of mouthing off, pay no attention and she may go away.

        • Thomas

This is because government’s job is not to take away our rights. Making prostitution illegal causes those who would visit prostitutes to prey on our children instead. Over 90% of the violent crime in the US is drug-related.

Do you want a more peaceful world, or a more violent one?

Liberal-tarian Ron Paul and his Paulestinian contingent call Americans terrorists, occupiers, and imperialists. He also voted to force homosexuality upon our combat troops against their will, and that of their commanders, chaplains, veteran’s groups, and people of faith during the lame duck session. Paul also joined with domestic terrorist Bill Ayres, Code Pink, and Michael Moore and called the WikiLeaks traitor Manning a “patriot and hero”. Paul supports terrorists like Hamas and Iran over the only democracy and ally in the Middle East, Israel. Now, Ronbo once again sides with our enemies and says Iran has the right to close the international
waters in the Strait of Hormuz. Ron Paul is a John Kerry/Jack Murtha veteran, and for giving aid and comfort to our enemies he must be impeached and indicted for Treason…

    • 57 girl

Sugar, you need to educate yourself more on what Ron Paul does and does not support. Perhaps you should go to one of his websites and listen to him directly to clear up your confusion. Ron Paul promotes freedom for all, including you. As far as giving aide to our enemies goes, I think you are really off base on your accusations. Sad, because our whole Nation suffers due to ignorance such as yours.

        • Dagny

Cin, the problem is that 9thID is NOT posting facts. Please do your homework and you’ll see that, and quit trying to evaluate Justwhistling and 57girl. If you are glad he’s posting flat out lies and information so slanted that it falls over, that in itself is quite telling.

there’s no bill Forcing homosexuality on anyone!! I’ve been in the army and there are a lot of gay people in the service and that was back in the late 70’s under “don’t ask don’t tell” once again you can’t stick to the truth thinking that all of these countries including Israel can take care of themselves doesn’t make someone pro …well. anything for that matter. Israel is a big country now and it can take care of itself WITHOUT us trying to be their nanny and tell them how to conduct themselves!!! Like myself Pauls a veteran and unlike other of the politicians on stage with him he did not use college go get out of serving his country. When he got his draft notice he went. He had a wife and two kids at the time that alone could have kelp him out but he did his duty for god and country. Once again being the troll that you are spreading shit… I have come to the conclusion that your are either being paid from someone or just mentally Ill Or both.

  • 57 girl

I think the biggest ‘boo’ in the entire debate was when Rhomney was asked if he would have signed the NDAA Bill and answered ‘yes’. Then they tried to bypass Ron Paul on the same question because everyone knows (including the interviewers) that Ron Paul would never sign such a bill into law. Anyone that truly knows what Ron Paul stands for and understands his views (less the media’s twisting of those ideas) will no doubt support Dr. Paul, lest we see the demise of what few rights we have left. I know I am always promoting Ron Paul, both on and off the internet. Dr. Paul is our only hope at saving this Nation.

    • dfrank

57, I read with amusement and disappointment the back and forth posts here, supporting and bashing Ron Paul. I don’t even try to believe or disbelieve what is said because so much of it is so nasty (both ways) and harmful to the process in which we all should be involved — choosing a candidate to replace Obama.

If you who support Dr. Paul hope to aid his cause, you should dispense with the ugliness and simply tell the truth and challenge things with which you disagree with facts of your own. As it is, you’re hurting the cause for which you so passionately espouse.

Have you not noticed that most of those with whom you are fighting, never name a candidate for whom they believe you should vote? There’s a reason, then their nasty attitude would redound to the detriment of their favored candidate. They are out-foxing you — perfectly happy to let you harm Dr. Paul’s cause while shielding their own candidate from the backlash that might result from their own ugly behavior.

Doctor Paul is not my particular favorite; but, I have liked and admired him for well over a decade and hate to see him hurt by those who actually wish him well.

    • dfrank

Now, I have a personal suggestion for you, 57 Girl. Get that silly notion out of your head that Ron Paul is our only hope of saving this nation. Ron Paul is a man — a good man, but only a man. Ours is a nation of more than three hundred million people; and, it is “We the People” who are the only hope of saving this nation: It is our duty, and we will do it — if it is God’s will. And, I believe it is.

    • Ralph

They NEVER present evidence. They take bits and pieces of what he states.
Because he talks a great deal about the Constitution, his followers think he is a Constitution scholar. He is NOT. He misinterprets the Constitution:

As for me , I’d much rather have Ron Paul’s “Alleged” misinterpretations of the Constitution than your candidate that Blatantly Ignores the only Document that is set in stone for the Greater good of All the People.

Imo: If there is a part of the Constitution that Paul has read wrong , please show the clips & or proof.

Keep in mind the Constitution is very simplistic in context and only a lying azzed Pukatician crook or Liberal will be more apt to Misinterpret the very simple wording of the Constitution.
I.E. Danged near All Politicians Attempt to redefine simple words & phrases such as Gov Shall Not, Keep & Bear arms Shall Not be infringed upon. Most of the Constitution refers to what Government Cannot & or Shall Not do.
Can you possibly understand why the Founders worded the Constitution this way ??

They had already been there 7 seen what mortal men are prone to do when gifted with a degree of power, and thus ” Shall Not” is the main reason for even having the Constitution & Bill of Rights.

There is only 3 lawful duties which Gov has the power to act on. Not one of these given powers give Gov the Power Redefine the phrase ” Shall Not” when “We The People” are the reason Politicians even exist.

I have no doubt that “If” Paul is misinterpreting any Clause within the Constitution , He will be more than happy to admit so and correct his horrific mistake.
Once again, which of the other runners have referred to & expounded on the Constitutional limits of Government and voted against any and all assaults of Our founding laws ??

A $5.00 wager will pay $10.00 that there is Not another candidate that can Honestly say “We The People” should be governed By the Exact wording of said Constitution, no more & no less
. They all have reservations when the constitution happens to go against their True Ideologies.
Perry has a proven disrespect & or blatant disregard for the Constitution by several of his Socialistic actions in Texas

        Romney ? Give me a break !!
Romney is the epitome of Obama’s mentor for Obamacare , so, telling me Romney gives a rat’s azz about the Inconvenient Constitution is more idiotic than saying Paul is an Anti-Semitic..

Huntsman ? Obama’s personal side track troll from the GOP runners is all he was in for. as in Confuse divide & conquer.

Santoriam ? Insider Politician / earmarker for the elite.
Wanna bet this weeks pay on this ??

  • dave

I continue to be amazed at the number of ron paul supporters on here that really dont understand the constitution and how it contrasts with ron pauls wacked out foriegn policy doctrine !!!!

    • MICHAEL

I continue to be amazed by the number of people like you who claim to know more about the constitution then back up all the unconstitutional things our government does to them. You know what i call people like you ignorant. Ron Paul knows the constitution the way our founding fathers knew the constitution. Even ask Mitt Romney every time he gets a constitutional question in the debates he always wants to refer it to (his words) let’s ask the guy who knows the constitution the best Ron Paul.

      • Greg

I could be wrong, but TECHNICALLY the Constitution allows the federal Government to directly finance only ONE thing. The Department of Defense. NOWHERE does it advocate for the Federal Government to pay for anything else. EVERYTHING else is the preview of the STATES. So, when you reduce the ability of the US to defend itself, you are in DIRECT violation of the Constitution.

    • Ralph

You just nailed it real good as the USA tried the same kind of Isolation now being preached at us by ISOLATIONIST crazy senile old Ron Paul and that help get the US
into WW2 and with a gutted US Military then too, just like both crazy Ron Paul and
Kenyan Wonder Barack Hussein Obama will try to gut the US Military again now!

      • Dagny

The pharmacy called Ralph, and your new meds are ready.

        • FireMall

          LMAO !!!!!!!!! @ Ralph’s predisposed prejudices

      • FireMall

I think maybe if you had the guts to do some research from an Older unused history book’s account of WWII you would learn that “Isolationism” wasn’t the cause of WWII it was FDR’s “Interventionism” with Japan’s sovereignty that brought Japan to attacking the U.S. and also you might learn that FDR wanted the war for purely economic / Political reasons.

    • John Barlow

May I suggest that you read “The Original Constitution, What it Actually Said and Meant” by Robert G Natelson. A very good book and I am sure a lot of Ron Paul followers have read it as well. Being ex-military I understand Pauls Foreign policy and agree

  • Bobby Crockett, CPT,USA,ret

Let’s establish bona fides up front before the Paulistas come out of the woodwork with their scalping knives looking for blood. My IQ is over 150, I have a master’s degree with a functional specialization in financial administration, and I had a military career that saw me start as a slick-sleeve private and retire as a captain. Ron Paul does not have my support now, nor would he ever have my support.

While the honorable Mr. Paul has some interesting and perfectly valid ideas concerning domestic issues, his ideas concerning foriegn policy are pure fantasy. As a retired soldier, I don’t bet on the best behavior of people. I have to prepare and expect the worst. At one time we had our officers study our potential adversaries in preparation to having to fight them if need be. It worked against the Nazi regime, the fascists in Italy, the Japanese warlords, and the commisars in the Kremlin. We have been less sanguine when it comes to the current crop in the Middle East because we don’t want to appear intolerant of Islam.

Islam is not only a religion. It is also a blueprint for a societal order that controls everything from law to banking to government in those countries where it is the official state religion. Even a perfunctionary study of their holy book and the Hadith reveals this. The fact that the mullahs and imams provide a distinctly different and altogether watered-down version of their goals to the West tells me that the cook is not making nice in the kitchen. The Koran instructs all good Muslims that their are only three options in dealing with infidels: convert them, subjugate them (temporarily), or kill them. All other Islamic tradition indicates that no interpretation of the Koran or the Hadith is necessary because Mohammed was the last true prophet of God. That is why the thought patterns are stuck in the seventh century. Don’t believe me? Check Noni Darwesh, she lived it for over 30 years in Egypt before emigrating to the United States. These are some of the people Mr. Paul wants to have a Rodney King moment with.

Given his foriegn policy/military views, he better plan on keeping the home bases well-prepared. That is because we will be fighting in downtown Dallas and Atlanta instead of in the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan.

    • MICHAEL

Book smart doesn’t give you common sense and you have none. You are just a war mongering lunatic just like the ones you support. Yes the military industrial complex did a job on you. Seek some help. They have programs out there to help you integrate back into the real world. I wonder if you have any children then i wounder if you would send them to get killed for your allusions then i question uor sanity if you would. I have way to many questions about your logic.

      • madmaxUSA

Your name-calling renders your comments meaningless.

    • jeffersonian liberal

First, thank you for your service to our country.
Now, why is it that the active military I know all support Paul? Living the DC area I also know many retired military that work for contractors who are not Paul supporters. This kind of tells me everything I need to know.

      • C.Davis

        Exactly

    • Elaine

      Great Post!!!

    • patriotrenegade

thank you, the real military has been heard from.

      • Dagny

Another person, with a well- deserved reputation for posting insane drivel in every possible venue, flaunting his ignorance.

        • C.Davis

She is a poopie pants, too. If this person’s “real military” was speaking, why does the campaign finance reporting board list Ron Paul as having received over twice the contributions from active duty and military personnel than all other candidates combined?
Could it be that her so-called “real military” is relying on the military-industrial complex to pay for their freedom of speech?
Maybe we should ease up Dagny, no sense in poking fun at the mentally disadvantaged, everyone has to earn a living somehow.

    • Dagny

Thank you for your service. Can you explain why most active duty and retired military disagree with you, especially those who are better educated and have better service records, such as Lt. Col. Anthony Schaffer? Or why so many other middle east operatives, such as the former Bin Laden Bureau Chief, Michael Scheurer, strongly support Ron Paul’s foreign policy?

Additionally, my IQ is considerably higher than yours, but I never bring it up. Why do you feel the need to? A bit insecure there? I am also not impressed with your background in functional specialization in financial administration. My graduate studies were in Psychology, MUCH more germane to understanding the Islamic mindset.

  • madmaxUSA

It’s too bad Ron Paul has such left-wing radical ideas about national defense. He is waaay left of Obama on that score. In the Monday night debate he in response to a foreign policy question from one of the moderators, and this is an exact quote: “We have to quit dropping bombs on other countries. How would we like it if they came over hear and started bombing our country”. This is a childish comparison by Mr. Paul, who presumes other countries are as egalitarian as the US is. It is implicit in this sort of declaration that military decisions are made by the populace, and not by the governments of countries. The fact is that government leaders around the world are not wired the way our leaders are. They do not share our values. The ruling theocracy in Iran, for example, has a proclivity towards national suicide. Are we to expect that if we simply ignore Iran’s nuclear ambitions that they will discontinue their nuclear program? Can we assume that if we ignore Al-Qaida and other extremist groups that they will then like us, embrace our values, and stop trying to kill us and our allies? Ron Paul is simply wrong-headed on this score, and it’s too bad. For the most part I embrace his libertarian views and his views on limited government. Unfortunately, on balance, I cannot support him.

    • Daylo

      Very much agree.

  • http://mrroysfaithline.blogspot.com Roy

Let’s hope this lunatic gets booed out of politics. He does have some good points but his main weakness is his denial that America has enemies that are putting their all into wiping her out. Islam would celebrate if they could tear down the American flag and raise theirs in its place.

His brain even rambles out of rationality at times. I doubt if his own ears pick up much of what he says.

This man has no concrete set of plans for America. We would really be in shambles if he became President. At least we know with Obama, that his goals are pure socialism.

  • tncdel

I see Paulbots posting that unfounded claim that Paul gets more support from military than any other candidate. I’m a 100% disabled veteran, and I have hundreds of vet and active-duty friends, most of whom DON’T support Ron Paul’s views. So why the gross disparity between what I know and what Paul supporters parrot?

Additionally, how could Paul credibly claim that he’s for a strong national defense, when he gets the WORST rating of ANY Republican candidate when it comes to DOMESTIC national defense? See:
    http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/numbersusa-re-affirms-reasons-for-giving-ron-paul-an-f-failing-grade-on-illegal-immigration-is-th/question-1768557/

Then he has the nerve to claim he’s a “strict constitutionalist.” HUH? A strict constitutionalist can’t be “pick ‘n choose” when it comes to upholding core tenets of the Constitution like domestic national defense.

    • Dagny

To address just one bit of your idiocy, apparently you are too stupid to check with the Federal Election Commission. That’s where the undeniable figures come from, proving Ron Paul gets more contributions from active duty military than all other candidates COMBINED.

Numbers USA and sodahead are both well known to have, shall we say, agendas. If we were discussing cooking eggs and I remarked I preferred mine poached, they would scream that I didn’t know how to cook eggs because they should be fried.

I believe you are indeed 100% disabled— at least between the ears. You are a perfect example of “it’s not that he doesn’t know anything, it’s that so much of what he ‘knows’ isn’t true.”

  • Susan

As some of you may recall from my previous comments, I’ve always believed We have far more in common than our differences….and much to lose. Our Republic is at stake. And then I read the vicious comments here re Dr. Paul and to his Supporters, and I think it’s past time that I rethink my position. I do not make comments that are rude/crude.. and were I to take many here to be directed at me as a Paul supporter, I would be highly offended. Civil discourse seems not to be found here.

    Goodbye

    • patriotrenegade

tough boogies- it’s the kitchen, not sesame st.

    • Dagny

Susan, please realize that these zombies attack Ron Paul and his supporters for one of five basic reasons: (1) they honestly misunderstand his positions (those people are generally quite civil, just misguided); (2) they are slopping at the government trough and are worried their free ride will come to an end (welfare queens and kings are in this category of course, but so are a lot of bureaucrats); (3) they have never been free, do not understand liberty, and are terrified of personal responsibility; (4) they are mentally unbalanced or deficient (this includes those whose reading comprehension is so poor that they cannot understand Rep. Paul’s clearly defined plan to restore America, as well as those who suffer from blood lust and just want to, for example, “kill Muslims”); (5) they are shills (aka political whores) who are actually paid for their attempts to denigrate Rep. Paul and undermine his support.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, most Ron Paul supporters are polite and do their best to educate people, believing most fall in to Category One. Unfortunately, most of the anti- Paul zombies on these sites fall into Categories Two through Five (p-renegade is one of these, obviously). It can be entertaining determining who is who.

  • tod

I wonder how much they got payed to boo??? Dr.Ron Paul 2012 !!!

  • Trent

It’s pretty obvious that all you idiots that are not Paul supporters are just plain stupid and dont and havnt done your homework to see that if Gingrich, santorum, or Romney are all fake conservatives and are all the obvious shadows of Obama himself, if any one of those mainstream media puppets get elected then nothing will ever change, the policies will never change and America will be no longer, all your personal liberties and privacy will be abolished, you will have all these undeclared unconstitutional wars that will be contuously be fought and loose thousands more troops for nothing. Ron Paul is our only choice for the presidency and there are 10 reasons why he will win and beat obama. The truth is cleAr and if you sit down and do a little reasearch instead of babbling hot air into the atmosphere just go to Alex jones PRISONPLANET.COM, INFOWARS.COM, sign up for PRISONPlANET.TV and watch all the live videos that Alex does every day and stop all this bullshit he said she said, the truth is there on those websites just add them as favorites and check them everyday, Thera nothing that wool change only get worse if we put any of those other Obama clones in the whitehouse. And always remember the THE TRUTH WILL SET YoU FREE! Ron Paul 2012!!!

  • Bob Marshall

If we expect to remain free and ignorant in a state of civilization we expect what never was and never will be… if we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every citizen to be informed. This mean many voters in South Carolina as well as the rest of the nation. John Adams Diary-Feb.9. 1772 a statesman will not compromise his principles. A politician is someone who will compromise his principles in order to advance his own interest. many people need to read the warnings from our founders in their quotes. They would see why we are the nation we are today instead of the nation our founders first created. I have read the Constitution twice There is no law against that as of yet.

    • FireMall

      @ Bob Marshall.

      Thank you sir !!
It’s very uplifiting to see someone has the audacity to pen the Wise & Perceptive warnings from “Our” founding fathers.
These actonims from the past seem to cuase most of today’s so called leaders to the point of Blatant denials of what America is Founded upon.
Not to mention viscous attacks on anyone who dares to Refer to the Constitution as the Laws of the Land.

They knew what they were doing because they had already suffered , fought & died from their successful endeavors to break free of Tyranny & create a Nation Of the People, For the People, By the People.

  • corky66

I think the same people that voted in obama are the same ones wanting Ron Paul. They just don’t know any better. I am not for our troops to be used for a “politicial” war but I damn sure do not want our military to be weakened by an old fool. Our Country is strong because of our Military. If you want to save money start with Foreign aid and medicaid. Then lower the payrole of CONGRESS!!!

    • Dagny

Apparently you DON’T think, Corky66, nor do you read, study or comprehend, or you wouldn’t post such idiocy. I, for example, am a long- time active Republican (I campaigned heavily for Reagan in 80 and 84), and I am quite a typical Paul supporter in my area. I am all about a strong military, as is Rep. Paul, the latter which you would know if you had bothered to do the slightest bit of research.

I do have Internet “friends” who voted for Obama in 08 and are planning to vote for Paul this year. This merely shows Ron Paul’s appeal stretches across the political spectrum (at least among intelligent people of good will), which is why he’s the only one who can beat Obama.

  • 1776 Patriot

20 year veteran here and still serving I have never given $ to a political campaign in my life …….TILL NOW. RON PAUL 2012 or we lose our country. NDAA, SOPA, Patriot Act, Expatriacian Act, WE BECOME Communist China. Your free until you speak the TRUTH.

  • Dagny

Ron Paul knows what he is talking about. He said the truth even if it was controversial. I give him credit for this. The rest will only say what we want to hear, because they have no intentions on carrying through. Ron Paul is the real deal and he has been warning us for decades and we haven’t listened. Look at the mess we are now i n. Wake the hell up folks, because this may be the last chance to get right. RON PAUL 2012!!

    • Dagny

Wow, this gave me a strange flash! I see someone else with my name! I don’t know how our views may differ in detail, but thank goodness we support the same candidate.

  • Terry Elliott

I see that the majority of the posts are in support of the little loudmouth know nothing tinfoil hat wearing Ron Paul. He is going to finish last this Sat in SC. BTW, the claim by you Paulite clowns the the military is supporting him is a fabrication! I have a son who is a career non-com (E6) in the USAF & a grandson that is a Lt (03) US Navy aviator & I am in contact w/them weekly & they sure as hell aren’t Paul supporters, in fact Newt is their guy. Now, go put on your tinfoil hat & go out & carry your Ron Paul signs – the exercise will do you good & maybe the fresh air will cleanse your minds!!!!!!!!!!!

    • C.Davis

No one on here is insinuating that every non com or airman nescessairily possesses any kind of intelligence or discernment. Also you are a poopie pants, too

    • Rhondar

the NUTS don’t fall from the tree !

  • Rhondar

Booing the GOLDEN RULE sure lowered my estimation of S Carolina Republicans….they must be IDIOTS.

    • C.Davis

Your reaction matched mine. Except my thought was that they should be ashamed. Particularly those who called themselves Christians. Jesus was reputed to have said “blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall see the kingdom of God.”
Apalling to me that supposedly interested republicans would express outrage at the notion that our leadership should be expected to comply with international law and custom. They’re so far sold on the practice of ignoring it that to them it is preposterous that it should even be a consideration.
It is for this reason that I believe that the whole thing was a set-up, with paid operatives booing at the appropriate time. It seemed that almost all the booing occured around the vicinity of the media’s microphones. It was very reminiscent of the CPAC convention which he won the endorsement of in 2010 and 2011, where there were known to be a few Romney supporters gathered around the mic in 2010 to boo when he was announced as the winner of their straw poll . Then in 2011 when he won again, Fox replayed the booing from 2010 and implied that they were booing him in 2011. There is no depth to which the establishment will not stoop to disenfranchise Dr. Paul and his constituency, because he stands in the way of the imminent completion of their New World Order debt through endless war feudal slavery system. However, let them play their games. The truth will always win, and cheaters never prosper. What id somewhat discouraging is the state of oblivion of the average American. Just has no clue. We’ve got our work cut out for us, but it’s a job worth doing.

This is a pretty revelant page, especially this year.
