Will Ron Paul defeat Mitt Romney in the Virginia primary?

In a dramatic head-to-head contest that will win huge attention throughout the political world, I now believe that Ron Paul will defeat Mitt Romney in the Virginia primary. The implications could be enormous. This result would dramatize the fact that a majority of Republican primary voters favor a candidate more conservative than Mitt Romney. This prospect could also inspire the mother of all money bombs for the Ron Paul campaign.

If I were the campaign manager for the Gingrich and Santorum campaigns, I would be suggesting that all conservatives vote for Ron Paul in Virginia. Ditto the conservative movement leaders from all conservative points of view and throughout the conservative media.

Mitt Romney must be getting desperate as his paid phone survey people are calling and not identifying themselves as Mitt Romney people asking if you are going to your caucus in February. If you answer yes, they ask who you will be voting for. If you say someone other than Mitt Romney they will try and not get you elected as a voting delegate to the next level. What a bunch of weasels!

    • Martin Ridens

I volunteer for the Ron Paul campaign. We call people using our own phones and the automated Phone from Home program the Ron Paul people have set up. We ask which candidate the person supports, who would be their second choice, and what issues are most important to them. Then we tell them the call has been provided by the Ron Paul 2012 campaign and thank them.

        Martin,
Save your call here. I am voting for RON PAUL.

PAUL & SANTORUM are the 2 who are not shysters. Romney received huge donation from Goldman who was bailed out. Newt was brought up on ethics charges by his peers in Congress and was deposed from office of Speaker of the House. If the Public don’t realise there are only 2 DECENT; CLEAN & ABOVE BOARD CANDIDATES for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES::: Heaven Help Us. Maybe I better spell it out.The 2 GOOD CANDIDATES are Paul & Santorum.

          • http://bobk90.wordpress.com Bobby

—Allan— Rick Santorum IS A WEASEL who plays the Political game like the Rest of the Scumbag Politicians! Take a look at what progams he voted for while a Senator and when he lost re-election he went right to work making a 6 figure income for the same company he helped get government contracts!!! That is all public record so see for your self that he is just like Newt Gingrich who used his power in office to become Rich!!!!

        • Oregon Bill

American Patriot, please change your name, any vote for Ron Paul is a misguided vote for Obama, don’t you understand that? It’s a simple fact, we need to get behind the Republican nominee, regardless of who it is and it will not ever be Ron Paul. No Conservative republican supports his far left, out of the mainstream Isolationist view. No Libertarian could ever get more than 5% of the vote in a national election, wake up!

          • Dan

I wish you would wake up and stop parroting this stupid “Isolationist” crap that that the media is trying to use to discredit Ron Paul. It’s not isolationist, it’s a “lets mind our own business” and “let’s quit sticking our nose into other countries problems”.

          • American Patriot

            Oregon Bill,
You can vote for your obozo again but I’m voting for Ron Paul.
Why do you lie and try to put the best man down?

          • Shirley

Actually, Oregon Patriot is not wrong. Dr Paul is not far left. He is hardly isolationist – he is Non-Interventionist. Huge difference. We can see how intervening in Egypt is going. The now Unstable “government” is holding Darren LaHood just for being there. All other American do-gooders have gone to the American Embassy for protection. How did that work out for us?

          • steve

you are the one that needs to wake up any one other than ron paul as president will be no differant than obummer and the country will be doomed RON PAUL 2012

          • Frank

I’am not a member of the Libertarian Party but I’ll take Libertarian views supporting the constitution and limited government over the three RINOs the establishment wants to shove down our throats. WE are at a crossroads.

Romney: “I’am a moderate with forward progressive views.” Actively complicit in socialized medicene and the individual mandate (albeit at the state level). Anti gun and anti prolife.

Gingrich: For the individual health insurance mandate and against the Ryan Plan (Right Wing Social Engineering).

Santorum: was part of the rapid expansion and growth in government as a Senator.

Only Ron Paul has been consistant over many years in his rhetoric to limit federal government and adhering to the constitution. I will no longer contribute to the RNC until I see who the nominee is. I will support the senate and congressional candidates, but I will not support nor vote for those three RINOs. The establishment apparently does not care if Barrack Hussein Obama gets reelected. Maybe you milktoast will wake up.

          • Dennis Johnson

            Right on Bill. Well said.

          • Mark

Ron Paul is NOT an isolationist, nor is he far left. I suggest YOU are the one who needs to wake up, and get educated about the facts.

          • Dagny

Your BS is staggering. Go back to Cali, where you whores belong. You admitted you were one of those disgusting Cali invaders of MY state (several generations). Go home, and take your stupid Fascist views with you. Oregon used to be a decent state Your sort of trash is ruining it.

MM, I’m calling you out on your lies! First of all, they are volunteers not paid. Second of all, if you are saying this based on being called, then your argument falls apart because they cannot block delegates.

I make calls for the Romney campaign as a volunteer. The script has always been to first ask which candidate they support.

      • Fred F

You had better do some research before you choose more of the same politics or worse.

    • MG

This is the same thing every candidate does including the RNC. They use volunteers and phone from home just like every other campaign.

If you love FREEDOM and our Constitutional that protects our FREEDOM – the choice is easy – Vote Ron Paul!

    • stillmoral

Let me ask all Patriots this question “Who has gotten the United States into the financial trouble we are currently in?” We can place (most of the) blame on Barack Obama who has a philosophy of bigger government, excessive spending and uncontrolled entitlement programs. We can also place blame squarely on both houses of Congress. During the first two years of the Obama administration, 2008 and 2009, the Democrats continued their control of both Congressional houses; the Senate and the House of Representatives. In those two years alone, these politicians never submitted a budget but they DID pass every piece of legislation to grow the government bigger and bigger. The bottom line is that Congress, from 2006 to 2010, was a liberals ‘dream come true’ period of time because these Socialists had complete control of the Federal Budget. Without any sort of fiscal conscious they ran up our deficit by excessive spending and no regard for their constitutional duties. Never before in the history of the United States, has Congress been so blatant with how they managed our money and how reckless they were in passing laws like the Healthcare Reform Act called ‘Obamacare’ without fully vetting them with the American people.

Today, we are suffering the real consequences of this behavior with high unemployment rates, under reported employment, business stagnation, housing issues and poor consumer purchases. There are so many issues with America caused by Barack Obama and this Democratic leadership that it would take a book to explain it all. However, not all these problems are ONLY caused by Obama and these Liberal (Socialist) Democrats. In 2010, we elected to Congress many newcomers from the Tea Party to help reign in the Democratic majority that was “out of control” at the time. Their one goal was to stop the reckless spending and unconscionable passage of laws that is taking away our American Freedom. The question I have is “Have those Tea Party Officials been able to succinctly reign in our out-of-control spending?” The clear answer is No. So we have to ask ‘Why not?’ Why is Congress STILL out of control and why cannot they stop the reckless spending that is now OVER $15 TRILLION DOLLARS? Let us bookmark this first thought and digress to explain Congress back in the 1990’s for a minute.

      Yesteryear in Congress

Prior to the 1990’s the voting American public stood up and said “No More Taxes.” In fact, the first President Bush was not reelected because he did not listen to that generation of American voters. What these voters knew, that current voters have failed to realize, was if their personal taxes and corporate tax were raised more and more, this would reduce the amount of money anyone had to spend and it would stymie economic growth. So, before the end President Bush’s first term he could not resist raising taxes on Americans and because of this he was not reelected and was then out of office. It was this one single tax event that prevented him from being elected to two terms.

Around 1995, the leadership in the House of Representative changed and the Republicans took control. This is when Newt Gingrich became Speaker of the House of Representatives. During his time as Speaker of the House, there were in fact, FOUR consecutive budgets that balanced our burgeoning federal deficit. There was a Democratic President at the time, Bill Clinton, and it was an uphill battle for Speaker Gingrich to get each budget approved and passed in the House. Then each budget had to go to the Senate and ultimately President Clinton had to sign it; which he did all four years. Has any Patriot ever asked this question “Was it easy to create a budget that balanced the burgeoning deficit and get the sum of Congress to pass it just so Clinton would sign it?” Does anyone think the Democrats walked in ‘lock-step’ with the Speaker of the House to get it done? Does anyone believe the Republicans walked ‘in synchronicity’ with Speaker Gingrich to get this accomplished? Just look at what is happening TODAY in Congress, 2010 through 2012 with the budget; compare this to how do YOU think Speaker Gingrich was able to get a balanced Federal Budget pushed though? Now let us bookmark this second thought for a minute so we can take a look at what is happening in the present.

      Leadership and Supporters of Leadership

There is a condition that a leader must prepare for because all leaders are labeled “a target” by the people who do not support them. Those people who do not agree with leadership often make the person in that position a target of ridicule, angst and non-support. They decisively talk behind their back and express their discontent of the job the leader is doing. They try to persuade others to believe in why they do not like or will not support the leader. They will do everything they can to get others to become disenchanted with that leader. It does not matter if this leader is at a local level within your community, church or school. This type of behavior goes all the way up to Congress and to the President. One can always say that ‘some people will follow a leader and there will always be others who will not.’

A very good leader will know how to get things done. So how can a leader depend upon others to get ‘it’ done if they do not support the leader? The answer to this is a ‘trade secret’ of leadership and in a future book this will be discussed at length. It is important to know there are many different styles of leadership that can be effective depending upon the environment, mission and goals. The question we have to ask is “What does it take for a leader to be effective so they can get America back on track? Now, let us bookmark this third thought for a minute so we can take a look at what is happening and what people are saying about the Congress of Yesteryear.

      Reality of Leadership

There are more and more attacks directly on Gingrich’s four years of leadership when he was Speaker of the House of Representatives. These people, who may have been in office at the time, are saying “even fellow Republicans did not want to work with him [Newt]; while he was Speaker.” One can bet this is coming from the Democratic Party primarily because they are absolutely terrified that Newt Gingrich will become the GOP Presidential Candidate. They are pulling out all the stops to do everything they can to get Mitt Romney to become our GOP candidate for President. There is another article I wrote that explains this in more detail about “Why the Democrats want Romney to be the GOP Presidential Candidate” and can be found at this link:

Do we believe Newt had it easy when he was Speaker of the House? Do we also believe everyone just willingly supported him as the Speaker for his balance budget initiatives? Sure, all the members in the House just went along with his budget cutting agenda; yes, all of them were just apathetic having to eliminate programs that may affect their own re-election back home, right? So, what do you think Newt did to get EVERYONE to buy-in and support the tightening of the federal budgets he led? Remember, what Newt did give us was a balanced budget for FOUR years and this resulted in unprecedented American growth and revenue!

You have to know the Democrats are so obsessed with preventing Newt from wining the GOP nomination that they will seize upon any and all bad information they can get on him. They are using every negative issue they can find against Newt right now. It is not beyond them to actually lie, cheat and manipulate any and all information to make Newt look bad. Obviously, they are choosing to blast Gingrich because they fear him the most; this is because he actually got something accomplished when he was Speaker and this SCARES THE HELL OUT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT! Not only is Newt a true conservative, but he has been able to do “WHAT IT TAKES” to actually make changes happen in Congress! Was it easy for Newt? Did he make friends? Did he have to bend some arms? Did he have to compromise? Yes Newt did and I am sure he had to do these things and probably more to make the changes we idolize today. Was Newt Gingrich perfect? No. However, Newt Gingrich got the job done and EVERYONE benefited from it!

One thing I believe Speaker Gingrich did not do is “he did not do what the CURRENT Speaker of the House of Representatives has done. Nor did he do what Nancy Pelosi did while she was Speaker.” In 2010, 2011 and now in 2012, our House is in turmoil, it is not able to get consensus on passing laws and budgets and they have failed from preventing us going over 12 Trillion Dollars in debt; which is now $15 Trillion! So as far as leadership is concerned, we have the model of one Speaker, Newt Gingrich, that got the job done and everyone since then has been far worse for America and they have caused our current debt crisis and reduction of our Freedom.

Let us take a quick look at the job Speaker Pelosi did when she was the Speaker of the House. What she did resulted in spiraling out-of-control debt, crushing regulations and removal of plethora of our American FREEDOMS. In her day, they never even produced a budget much less pass one. The four years she was in control resulted in an unprecedented federal government growth and infiltration of socialists into our American government. Yes, she is an excellent role model for us to NOT ever elect again.

Next we have Speaker Boehner and the job he is now doing as Speaker of the House. He is not able to stand up for one single budget proposal and had four of them last year. He bends like a reed in a soft wind. Since he is not able to stand for anything, the House of Representatives is all tied up in gridlock with seemingly no leadership Yes, Boehner is also an excellent role model for us. His leadership model is to realize it is NOT easy to lead the House of Representatives into a concerted and focused effort.

      Leadership in Summary

So, based upon the leadership Mr. Gingrich exhibited while he was the leader of the House of Representatives, do we believe he should be shunned and he should be hanging his head low in utter disgrace as the Liberals would have you believe? Because of the way his critics are slamming Newt (about what he did back then) should this be preventing him from becoming our GOP candidate for President? Newt Gingrich talks about that period of time and what he did as if he is wearing a badge of HONOR! What he did is honorable. The Democrats want all of us to believe he should be ashamed of what he did. Speaker Gingrich has summed this up by stating “No one is our lifetime has done what [he] did; no one has balanced the Federal Budget four consecutive years in a row.” You are correct, Mr. Speaker.

Remember, all of these professed issues and complaints about Newt Gingrich are yet again showing everyone how desperate the Establishment is scared of Newt. They are terrified that if elected, he will actually CHANGE WASHINGTON. Also remember it is infinitely much easier for people to just sit on the sidelines and nit-pick what Newt did as Speaker of the House. Just know that as ‘The leader’ it was Newt who actually got something done. Newt was not just someone who got it done to benefit their own political party and friends, Newt got it done for every citizen in the United States of America. Thank You Mr. Gingrich!

Right now all of us American Patriots are trying to vet the qualifications of who will become our GOP Candidate, so please remember these three important things:

Leadership is not easy and it is very hard to become an effective leader
We have a choice of leaders and we need someone who has a record of successful change
We MUST break the current dead-lock in Congress and this will NOT make many friends
Now let us examine the bookmarks we created.

      1. We have out of control spending because we do not have any leadership that can make us believe they are fiscally responsible. There is no one in Congress now that will stand by their core values because they are trying to appease others.

      2. Being able to make changes in Washington is not for the foolhardy. It is not about winning friends but more about influencing people and this is what Gingrich did. Just realize it is extremely difficult to lead people especially when your goal is to make significant cuts in funding.

      3. What will it take to get America back on track? It will take someone with bold ideas; it will take a leader who is not afraid to do what is best for the Republic FIRST and it will take real core-value leadership to make the process work for EVERYONE.

Patriots, I believe we can get America back on track with the correct leader. However, time is running out and we MUST select the best leader we can for the November 2012 election. However, between now and then, all of us will be hearing a lot about leadership so when you hear people talk about leadership, remember this “Leadership is a LOT like herding a bunch of cats; the ones with long tails are the ones that will get stepped upon and those are the ones that will be screaming. The ones which are screaming are the ones preventing us from getting it done!”

You have to vote for one of them, if you want Obama removed from office. There is no other choice. If you stay home, that’s as good as voting for Obama. Gingrich will get my vote only if he is running against Obama.

A Smith: yOU ARE DARNED RIGHT. There are 2 Clean & above Board Republican Candidates running: Santorum & Paul are running; but since both have been in politics and kept their noses clean half the public are unaware of their accomplishments. Only the dirt of politics gains recognition and gains name prominence. Everyone has heard the names Romney & Ginrich so they have become implanted into the brain cells. Good works and Great accomplishments never gain Name Prominence and people say WHO? If you want to come out of the mess wse are in today you need to implant the names Santorum & Paul into your brain. Either or would be Much, Much, Much, Better than Romney or Ginrich.

I’m going to vote for a Republican House and Senate to curb Obama, then cast my vote for a principled conservative, even if I have to write-in Ron Paul’s name. With a Republican House and Senate, we will have no curbs on a RINO New World Order Globalist Socialist Republican. Remember, Bush passed “No Child Left Behind”, the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, the Police State, and indulged in an expensive war in Iraq over fantasy nukes. Obama’s Socialist agenda is not worse than Bush’s was. Spare us from another NWO Socialist, whether a donkey or an elephant. By the time they leave office, all NWO Socialist presidents from either party are indistinguishable from jackasses.

        • Sam

Real smart to throw away your vote , by voting for Ron Paul, and re-electing Obama, smooth move in the name of ideology, brilliant.

Ron Paul and his radical, far-left foreign policy is only supported by Liberal Independents and Democrats, we need Republican support to defeat Obama in 2012, or all is lost, are people not smart enough to see that??

          • mqg25

“far left foreign policy”.,..are you serious? Have the neo-cons (former trotskyites) brainwashed you in believing that an agressive pre-emptive attack on other nations is a conservative principle? You my friend take the Socialist/Machiavellian view that believes the ” end justifies the means.” I suggest you find out what a REAL freedom means by googling the principles of paleo-conservatism, that Goldwater believed in and not the phony B.S foisted upon us by the neo-con, trotkyites Limbaugh’s, Hannity’s and others.

      • stillmoral

Absolutely correct. The establishment is terrified of Newt because he will bring real change. What really galls me is the Republican establishment going after Newt. No wonder when he resigned he called them a bunch of cannibals.

      • Larry

        To Brenda and jnri,
I just wanted to add a comment or two regarding Ron Paul. I used to vote strictly republican. But after seeing and hearing things that really bothered me a great deal I realized I had to re-evaluate my political positions. I was against the attack of, the occupation of, and the rebuilding of Iraq. The supposed reason for our being there changed something like six times. The patriot acts (1 and 2) bothered me a great deal for obvious reasons. But what really shocked me were the multiple news reports of George W. Bush angrily telling a group of republican congressmen that the Constitution was just a God da#$ed piece of paper when they told him that they were reluctant to vote for the so-called patriot act because they felt it was unconstitutional. And, of course, they fell right into line and did what they were told. Nobody can deny what an absolute mess and potential disaster our financial system has become. Nor can it be denied that the whole house of cards is likely to collapse and possibly collapse soon. Did you know that Ronald Reagan used to be a democrat? He was quoted as saying that he wasn’t the one who changed and that it was the democrat party that had changed. The republican party has also changed and not for the better. Those changes occurred during the late sixties and early seventies. Some of the reasons that previous republicans became libertarians were because of Nixon’s policies that were decidedly anti-republican, or at least they were at the time. The Viet Nam war, Conscription (the draft), Nixon’s wage and price controls, taking the U.S. off of the Gold standard, the creation of ridiculous government agencies such as the EPA. The list is a long one. But the point is that the republican party has changed like the democrat party changed, which is what caused Reagan to leave the democrat party. A great deal of the libertarian parties ideas are what republicans and conservatives used to believe. You can’t listen (in my opinion) to people like Faux News, Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly and the others to learn what Dr. Paul really thinks and believes in. He just thinks that we need to follow the constitution. And those guys like beck and limbaugh only want their listeners to vote for a politician just like all the rest, someone who will keep the status quo alive and well. Only changing in very minute ways. Choosing between the establishment candidates is killing this country and both sides are leading us in the same direction. All those people work for the same people. So when we elect an establishment republican or a establishment democrat…the real money and power people don’t really care because they already own both candidates. And this is why ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN all of them are so against Ron Paul. He is not going to do their bidding. He will govern according to the Constitution. This country is in big trouble and it needs a real Patriot. Someone who is a real Constitutional expert. I thought it was funny when Mitt Romney said that of Dr. Paul at one of the debates. America has become very sick. Please rethink Dr. Ron Paul.

        • Fireplace

You are right on. Great overview…and don’t forget that BOTH Romney and Santorum were vocal during the last debate in supporting Obama’s illegal and unConstitutional signing into law, the 2012 NDAA…the law that allows arrest and indefinate detention for any US Citizen SUSPECTED to be a terrorist and deemed so by the Administration- this without due process and without a lawyer or evidence. Read the complete law and it specifies torture. No, the ONLY one to stop this insanity is the only Constitutionalist running…Ron Paul!

        • Brenda in VA

I am prbly voting for Ron Paul, I really dont like ANY of ‘em. Again out of 305 million folks, these 4 are the only candidates the Repblcn party can DIG UP?
I am patiently waiting, to hear what excuses K Rove & his gang make up as to WHY, VA didnt vote for Romney to win!
Darn, I guess he just didnt connect, Not the truth, Folks just plain DONT WANT another “dictator” type of guy!

      • Jaele

        jnri – You state “I don’t like Ron Paul he’s a LIBERTARIAN”….
First, he’s NOT a Libertarian. He’s a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN.. Those like yourself who vote along party lines just for the sake of doing so are the most ill-informed and are nothing more than HARMFUL to the citizens of our country.
RON PAUL is the ONLY candidate who’s spelled out his plans in detail. The man pulls no punches and has no baggage, political nor personal. The man is and has been FIGHTING TO PRESERVE YOUR FREEDOMS under what once was the greatest CONSTITUTION on the planet. And you don’t like him WHY??
Next time you attempt to influence others to vote for an establishment DOG, you should at very least lay out VALID reasons for demeaning the one you speak against.
GROW UP AND GET AN EDUCATION!! The idiocy of yourself and those just like you effects the rest of the citizens in this country.

        • Jim

You seem to forget the basic mental fallacy inherent within the liberal/socialist/statist/secular humanist mind. They fully believe that there is no right & wrong & ignore the facts if it gets in the way of their “vision.” They believe they can make anything work, even if it’s against the facts, history & Laws of Nature, simply because they WANT it to work. They are beyond all logic & reason, operating on sheer gut-level instinct.
In short, they’re a couple of spark plugs short of running on 8 cylinders…

        • Oregon Bill

You are the one that needs an education, Ron Paul and his far left foreign policy is not supported by any informed, Conservative Republican, could ever support, I guess you want to reelect Obama so you will have something to gripe about after the election, which Obama will certainly win because of idiots that support fringe candidates, like Ron Paul.

          • Dan

In other foreign countries that succumbed to Communism, there were citizens in those countries that switched sides and joined the Communists ( they were called traitors ) in an attempt to save their lives. When the takeover was complete, the killings began. One of the first groups they killed were the traitors, because they couldn’t be trusted.

So watch out, all you people against Ron Paul. When this country falls, like many have predicted, your lives won’t be worth a plugged nickel.

          • Barbara

OB, You might try studying George Washington’s Farewell Address on foreign policy.
If you compare Washington’s wise advice to what Ron Paul is advocating, it is identical. We have wandered so far from our founding principles of independence and non-intervention that many today (perhaps like you?) don’t even know what they were.

      • Ann Wilson Kingsley

Libertarianism is the philosophy and policy of our Founding Fathers:
        http://godfatherpolitics.com/3097/senator-jim-demint-listen-to-ron-paul/

      • Patriot Diva

Newt, Romney, and Santorum are part of the New World Order. So is Obama. They put several people on both sides of the race to make sure one of their guys gets in. Ann has done her research! Ron Paul is the only one who has not sold out or allowed himself to be threatened. While Ron Paul has some libertarian leanings, I would not say that is a bad thing. He is running as a republican.

      • OB1

Please google ronpaul2012 dot com and educate yourself! He has be re-elected as s republican for many many years:

Time to face the facts. What the GOP fears most is what America needs most.

Neither Santorum nor Gingrich can win the Nomination for one simple reason. Neither of them can collect enough delegates to win the Nomination.

Neither man can be the nominee because neither one was able to get on enough states’ ballots to make a difference. (564 delegates that Newt can’t win ), Same with Santorum (over 700 delegates he can’t win ). And the media as well as the GOP is praying to god that the American people continue to remain ignorant of this fact for as long as possible while they try to come up with a strategy that will bury Ron Paul before Romney is forced to face him on stage alone and the commentators are no longer able to marginalize Paul by giving all the questions to everyone but him.

Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are the only two candidates that made it on the ballot in every state. Romney will not beat Obama, he’s too similar except he will raise taxes on anyone making 40k a year or less in favor of giving himself lower taxes. Independents are going to run to Obama if Romney is the alternative.

It is a two man race between Ron Paul and Romney for the nomination.

It is also a two man race between Ron Paul and Obama for the White House.

It’s time Conservatives and people with any functioning brain cells in their heads started backing the only real candidate that will beat Obama and save America. And whether you like it or not, that candidate is, by default, Ron Paul.

The facts can’t be twisted to point in any other direction. The Delegates decide who gets the nomination and you can’t get delegates if you aren’t on the ballots. It doesn’t matter how much money gets pumped into your campaign by special interest groups. The facts are the facts.

Fact : Gingrich and Santorum cannot win the nomination no matter how much they get in ” popular ” votes.

Fact : Romney will fail epically against Obama in a general election.

Fact : Ron Paul will decimate Obama on his Foreign Policy stance alone. Add in his Economic and Defense policies ( All 3 of which were policies Obama ran on in 2008 and abandoned once he got in the White House so no one would be stupid enough to believe he’s going to follow them in his second term ) and you have an un-beatable candidate in the general election who the bulk of the American people will vote for when they finally get a chance to see the man unfiltered and unbiased by the media.

America is broke and the average American is tired of hearing about another war on the horizon and seeing more dead soldiers coming home in coffins for no reason…all the while the freedoms they are dying to ” protect ” are being stripped away from us by our own government…one by one.

Obama has 0 chance of beating Paul and Washington knows it. The GOP knows it. The corporations that own Washington know it too so they instruct the media outlets they own to hide it from you.

But now you know. Gingrich and Santorum are mathematically incapable of winning the Nomination and Romney can’t beat Obama in the general election.

Ron Paul is the only choice we have. It’s just nice that, for once, he’s the RIGHT choice and not just the ” lesser of two evils “

        • Oregon Bill

Ron Paul for our candidate, assures a 50 state landslide for Obama, there is not any state in the union that he could possibly win against Obama, how ignorant are all you Paulbots??

    • Martin Ridens

Hi Brenda. Have you noticed that when it became clear the inevitability of Romney wasn’t going to work there was a “sudden” resurgence of Newt Gingrich? We’re hearing all about Romney’s negative ad techniques now, but almost nothing about the 28 minute video on Bain and all the anti-Mormon literature that flooded SC before the primary. We’re seeing support for Newt from certain corners (Palin, Cain, et. al.) shown in a positive light. We’re being spoonfed a “contest” between the safe, establishment statist and the rebel, usurper statist. The media and power moners are capitalizing on our enjoyment of a good fight and soft-spot for the underdog to prop Newt up and make this a “two-man race”. If Newt starts doing better we’ll see the coverage slant Romney’s way so things stay around 50/50, that way the voting machine can decide the election when the time is right. It’s pretty much the same thing that happens in the general election but just a more focussed version.

If you listened to Ron Paul in the SC debate he was pretty clear where his cuts in military spending would come from and very dedicated to making sure the honorable people serving our country are not the ones who suffer.

      • Oregon Bill

Ron Paul’s complete Isolationist view is not shared by any Conservative Republican, that I’ve ever come across, get serious, a vote for him is just another vote for Obama, who’s far to the right of him in foreign policy.

        • American Patriot

          Oregon,
FYI, I am as Conservative as a Conservative Republican can get and am voting for RON PAUL.
A vote for RON PAUL is a vote for an America for our kids and grandkids future.

          • Are You Serious

No, a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. There are no conservatives in Oregon. I don’t even understand why Oregon is still a state.

          • Are You Serious

That was for American Patriot. Sorry Oregon Bill. I still don’t believe there are conservatives in Oregon. If you really are you’re the only one. Lol

          • C.Davis

Oreo Bill, What might simplify things for you is: General electric owns Obama. They are also one of the biggest defense contractors. They make most jet engines, among other things. They also own very large chunks of all the major media, if not outright. They also compensate their employees, the news readers and radio talkers with large blocks of stocks. They will disparage any candidate who threatens to overturn their applecart. This is why our country is on its way down the tubes, but Ron Paul is doing everything in his power to keep that flush handle from getting pushed down. GET OFF OF IT. You’re not helping.

        • Joseph C Moore, USN Ret

You, “Oregon” Bill, are a complete idiot who chooses to equate the non-interventionism of our forefathers with isolationism. Read the Constitution. It is a pretty straightforward writing that does NOT require interpreting, parsing or any other euphemism for re-inventing our REPUBLIC into a socialist state. I am a 30 year veteran who is voting for Dr Paul instead of another big government neocon who walks hand in hand with the socialists. How, on earth, did you think the country arrived at the mess it is in today without collusion of the “two party system”? The country NEEDS a STRICT CONSTITUTIONALIST, and neither Romney or Gingrich are that, no matter their rhetoric. Look at what they have done in the past. Our country should not give up its sovereignty to a World Government which is the goal of the politicians and wealthy who are manipulating the global economy.

          • amagi

            Dear Mr Moore,
Exactly – and thank you !

          • Oregon Bill

I’m sorry I had to retire in Oregon, because after 60 years in California, I could not afford to retire there. Only 5 of 34 counties here voted for Obama, I happen to live in Lane County, home to the University of Oregon, a Liberal bastion of huge proportions, if not for Portland and Eugene, Oregon would be a red state, for sure, none of my neighbors are anything but, Conservative’s, I’m in the suburbs.

          • mqg25

Brainwashed people like Oregon Bill who think they are “conservative” will never wake up no matter how many facts you toss in front of them. They love being deceived by the master manipulators thinking in the neo-con collective just like those on the far left. It’s called the false left/right paradigm thinking you are voting for change but ending up with the same results. So our debt will continue to increase, more wars, more deaths, more government, less and less freedoms, until it all crashes down…and they believe they voted for change…hmmm, where have I heard that before?

        • A Smith

And your not to bright R. Paul has huge numbers in the independants who arnt alowed to vote in some of these primarey elections. There for hes not getting all his suport in them. If the American voters could vote between the last four Ron Paul would be standing on Obamas politcal grave

        • Joseph Gresham

Ron Paul IS NOT an isolationist! That allegation just shows that you can not think for yourself, and must parrot the ridiculous comments of idiots. It is not isolationist to not look for every imaginable excuse to go into an un-Constitutional war.

        • amagi

          Dear Oregon Bill,
Why are people still referring to Dr. Paul as ‘isolationist” when
he is FOR trade and peaceful exchanges and diplomacy – just
against war which has helped make us bankrupt ?

        • Neville

Hmm. That must be a new policy announcement that just came out. Last time I checked, Paul had never supported an “Isolationist view”.

        • Patriot Diva

Ron Paul is NOT a an isolationist. He is a non interventionist. It basically means we mind our own business. Now if someone else doesn’t mind theirs and tramples on our freedom, then they asked for it. There is a LOT of hit pieces on Ron Paul that contains lies. You have to go his website or request information from his campaign to get the truth. Ron Paul is the veteran running for office, so he believes in a strong military, just not an over extended one.

          • Eve

Very nice response Patiot Diva. Ron Paul also wants to spend our money on new military technology which I agree with. He knows that if we have the greatest military on the face of the earth we stand a much better chance of enemies not messing with us!

        • Barbara

          Non-interventionism is NOT isolationism.
I recommend a good reading of George Washington’s Farewell Address, and you will understand the difference.
In case you haven’t noticed, Obama “talks peace” but is actually a tool of the warfare globalists, and is every bit as much a warmonger, as his predecessors.
          Please pay attention!

        • Carol Fryer

Im not sure what you think an isolationist is but I heard that too. I did my research and hes not. Since when is the constitution isolationist? And what part of that foreign policy are you believing that the GOP is whining about? The part where he says stop sending massive amounts overseas to foreign nations? Or maybe declaring war before we actually go to war and going there to win quickly and not slowly make someones friend rich? How about those opium fields they never seem to want to destroy.Yeah right.

        • Eve

Good grief! People still haven’t gotten the message…THE MEDIA LIES ABOUT RON PAUL!!!!…He is NOT AN ISOLATIONIST…check out his site. Interventionalism IS NOT ISOLATIONISM!! Sorry but I hate it when I see good people lapping up the kool aid the media giants serve.

That “isolationist view” is not only a mere MSM talking point, but it’s also a twist away from the truth. America is, right now, nothing less or more than a world-wide militarized EMPIRE with over 900 PERMANENT instalations in over 130 sovereign nations. Ron Paul just wants to dismantle the EMPIRE, not our defense…Our people in uniform are sworn into an Oath of Office to “protect, defend & uphold the Constitution against all enemies foreign or domestic.” What most of the candidates (excepting Ron Paul) will never point out that our most dire enemies are DOMESTIC & CURRENTLY HOLDING OFFICES in our government. How often do any of them (other than a small, meager few, including Ron Paul) actually abide by their own Oaths of Office & stick strictly to the Cosntitution?…Extremely rare to never, because they’ve been paid off by the special interests & have become so used to violating the Constitution (it’s their contract of employment under We the People, after all) that they may not even realize how fully criminal they are.

      Brenda:

Just want you to know you are not the only Virginian that is “MAD AS HELL”! I’ve supported the Virginia Republican Party all my life (70 years old) and now the most important election of our life-time – we are told you vote either or and not your choice and to add insult to injury – “no write-in candidate’s name” will be allowed. To make matters even worst – our Govneror and Lt. Governor are Romney supporters and the AG (who “was” the darling of the party) get’s on Fox News Debate and instead of asking all the candidates questions in like manner – apparently ahead of time decided his objective was to go after Newt Gingrich. Ronald Reagan said it very well – “I did not leave my political party – my political party left me”! The only way I will cast a vote in the Virginia primary – will be in protest – as I have little to nothing in common with Mitt Romney!

      • Jim

Does the VA Absentee Ballots have room for a write-in? You not only avoid your ballot from getting hacked, but you leave a paper trail too.

If not, then the only alternative I can imagine is voting “No Confidence” so that NO ONE can claim your vote.

    • ALLAN

Although I see where you are coming from we have 4 Republican Candidates left in the race. The 2 that appear to be leading only show that America sees Money and is falling into the Same Old;Same Old; Political Trap. Huge Campaign Donors don’t just give huge amounts without looking for Compensational Returns in Larger Amounts. Both Santorum & Paul are low in Funds. Therefore they cannot implant your brains with their names every few minutes. Romney and particularily Ginrich have baggage and dirty laundry. Santorum & Paul are relatively unnoticed by the public due to quietly working for the golod of the Public. Good deeds don’t make the News. You know absolutely nothing about me unless I commit a Terrible Terrible Felony and then my name would become prominent. Romney and Ginrich have prominent names and so bad guys once again lead the Pack. Get the Drift of why we are constantly in a mess today.

      • Carol Fryer

They also have big donations from the ones that will own them for the next 4 years.

      • OB1

Ron Paul is NOT low in funds!

Check out ronpaul2012 dot com to see where he stands today. Here’s a bit although older stats:

        RON PAUL’S TOP 10
        US Army $78,056
        US Navy $56,769
        US Air Force $55,405
        Google Inc $52,801
        Microsoft Corp $47,923
        US Postal Service $26,591
        Hewlett-Packard $25,318
        Lockheed Martin $23,425
        Cisco Systems $23,007
        Boeing Co $22,434
        Verizon Communications $19,944

        • Jan

OB1..Where did you get the facts about Santorum and Gingrich being unable to get the delegates? What states, other than Virginia, did they fail to get on the ballots? I’m not challenging what you’ve stated. I just want to read that information for myself. Thank you.

So Hello Ralph, Virginia GOP has fixed it so there are only 2 people on the primary ballot and no write ins. I’m voting for the crazy Ron Paul, at least we know that he loves this country and will try to do the right thing. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if RP cleaned Romneys clock in Virginia? It may very well happen and I will laugh all day at the republican party of Virginia.

I think Ron :Paul is a nut job, but if I lived in VA, I would vote for him. I want to take Romney down and out. He is just Obamalite. The RNC should be ashamed of themselves for shoving this leftist down our throats. They called me for a donation and I told them in no uncertain terms to go to hell.

If you really checke out Newt Gingrich’s record, you would see he was an outstanding Speaker. You are believing the MSM, the Republican establishment and the Romney lies and distortions. Please really research him. He is the only one who can defeat Obama and they know it and are doing their best to destroy a man who loves America.

Point well taken, I can vote for any Republican against Obama and know in my heart I’m doing the right thing, we can’t possibly afford four more years of Obama and his minions, move them all out of the White House and Senate in 2012.

        • Brenda in VA

Hey Bill, ya sound great, but this topic is VIRGINIA, not your state. Can we wait until the (sham) vote comes to your state, to read whatever it is you think/feel! Thanks in advance!

      • MM

I have voted for the candidate of MY choice in every presidential election since 1968. At this time I refuse to vote for a RINO. YOU will not tell me who to vote for in the 2012 election. It most likely is your fault that Barrack Obama is president of the United States today for running John McCain last time. Nuff Said!

        • leefromok

I bought into the theory that if I didn’t vote for McCain, I would be voting for Obama.
NOT THIS TIME! (Yes, I was shouting!)
          I won’t vote for a rino!
The way I see it, I wasted my vote on McCain.

So, John Lancellotti, what do you have against our Constitution? Don’t you want your God-given rights back? Do you like being controlled by central bankers and CFR members?
        Just wondering.

Lancelloti: You are entitled to your opinion thank goodness that Liberty still exists. My concern is over Romney and in particular Ginrich becoming President. We have 2 other Candidates you know. Santorum’s policies and political service should have been attributed greater notice. Bad news always gains more notice. When people do good works it hardly gets anyones attention. That is why we always return to the Same Old, Same Old; Bad Baggage and when it gets opened up nothing newer or better Pops Out.

COMMENTARY | This election cycle there has been a lot of talk about mainstream news media bias. The main focus of outrage regarding this bias has been the lack of relevant coverage for Texas congressman and presidential hopeful Ron Paul. Now in the thick of the Republican presidential primaries, we’ve been hearing on a daily basis about these “major” endorsements coming in for every candidate still in the hunt for the nomination. Well, that is, except for Ron Paul.

It would almost seem as if no one is interested in endorsing Dr. Paul. If they are the media sure doesn’t seem to know about it, and if they aren’t reporting on it like they seem to do with every slightest mention of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, then it must not have happened right? It appears that’s just not the case. In fact there have been pretty significant endorsements that have been made recently in support of Paul.

State Senator Tom Davis of South Carolina elaborates on his endorsement of Dr. Ron Paul for President, “If you believe in the founding principle of this country, and you read Ron Paul’s book, and you look at his voting record, there is only one candidate that you can vote for, there is only one candidate that does stand for individual liberty and limited government and that’s Dr. Paul. Right now is the time to stand up for him. He needs our help in South Carolina. We can win this primary.”

Senator Davis is considered among the biggest endorsements one could acquire in South Carolina. Many of the candidates had previously been vying for the backing of the Senator. One of those candidates was Rick Santorum who recently spoke about how big an endorsement from Senator Davis would be for his campaign to The Island Packet, “to get an endorsement from someone like Tom Davis is a big deal. It would speak volumes to folks and make them take notice and give us a look.”

In the Christian Newswire last week the Evangelical leader Dr. James Linzey, the president and founder of the Military Bible Association, also endorsed Paul, saying in a statement to him, “Having thoroughly examined your political philosophy and finding that your platform is 100% in line with the Constitution of the United States of America, and examining your political record to find that you have consistently upheld the Constitution and thereby faithfully represented your constituency, and studying your statement of faith to find that your faith and religious experience is 100% compatible with Evangelical Christianity and Orthodox Christianity, I hereby endorse you for the Office of the President of the United States of America. I wish you Godspeed!”

Dr. Linzey later explained more of his endorsement in the Christian Newswire by saying, “Among the six remaining GOP hopefuls, two are evangelical — Ron Paul and Rick Perry. But the telltale sign of being qualified for the presidency is not faith, but loyalty to the Constitution which defends the open expression of faith. Paul seems to be the candidate most loyal to the Constitution according to the records. So when other evangelical leaders endorse GOP contenders of other faiths and traditions, some of whom have received funds from special interest groups, and are not as loyal to the Constitution as is Dr. Paul, one must necessarily ask, ‘What is their agenda?’ because they certainly are not endorsing the most qualified nor the most evangelical. If evangelicals wish to make faith an issue, then they should take a closer look at Dr. Paul’s statement on his web site, ‘Let me be very clear here: I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, and I endeavor every day to follow Him in all I do and in every position I advocate.'”

    • Veteran Defender

Same here! People have a choice of the same old stuff from the frderal government, or a reveerse of course to a smaller limited government not trying to run every aspect of our lives, and the economy. This election should be about a return to the Constitution. Ron Paul 2012!

As a Virginian, Born and raised in Norfolk area and retired from the Naval Station, I too, fear the cuts that may come to our Military, but that is dependent on who is doing the cuts. I watched a lot of “empires” be built among the Civilian forces only to self promote the department heads and serve No Useful purpose for the Navy overall. Work to justify added positions under you, when not needed and in turn you may get an upgrade for yourself being the most prominent reason. Been there, Done that.
Went through the Secure Station Policies, then the Open Base Policies where we took down all the gates there and then after the Cole and 9/11, back to security again, depending on who was in the OVAL Office at the time costs Millions then. A Massive reorganization/Consolidation to “reduce costs” ended up with no one losing their jobs and most getting a promotion under the Regionalization plan. In short, lots of waste.

    • Brenda in VA

Yes, Wm, I too remember all that, with the fences up, so 1 can go down to a ship’s pier like in the old days! Yes, it does seem to depend on whos in charge. & now we’ve another BRAC grp looming on the horizon. Agree, a lot of waste under those “Regionalization plans” but I guess some 1 made some $$, a name & obtained a few awards for all that shuffling around.
GREAT to read of another Norfolkian on this list! We’ll see what develops come Mar 6!

  • celador2

Virgina is a two man race due to eligibilty failures by all but Romney and Pail. GOP rivals.media and war hawks will spin a Paul victory as something other than voters liked his message. Such a win would keep this race alive maybe up until the final primaries.

    • Martin Ridens

You sure have that right. We’ll hear how a Ron Paul win in VA was ONLY because people don’t believe in Romney and how does that affect Newt. The media, including FOX, is so transparent in their coverage. They sometimes pretend Ron Paul doesn’t exist and when they can’t do that he and his supporters are minimalized.

      • Oregon Bill

Are you kidding me? Ron Paul has some good ideas , from an economic view, but we need someone to beat Obama in 2012 and that’s not Ron Paul. who could not possibly compete with the Obama machine, in the general election, Obama would win in a landslide, is that what you Paul supporters want? Throw our Country down the drain for Libertarian Ideology, real smart move.

        • Joseph Gresham

Well my friend you are terribly misinformed, Ron Paul actually stands the best chance of beating Obongo. (That has been determined by some major media outlets, however they don’t like to talk about it) And what a contrast there would be, a man of great integrity, who ALWAYS supports the Constitution, never wavering on ANY issue compared to the Marxist waffler. Now THAT would clinch the election

        • Martin Ridens

The Obama propaganda machine would destroy Newt or Romney, just look at what they’re doing to each other and the libs will be much, much meaner. They really have nothing to attack Ron Paul with except some 20 year old newsletters that are flimsy at best and wear out quickly. If you really want a republican in the White House about the only chance we have is to hold our noses and vote for Ron Paul. It would smell pretty sweet to me, but it’s still the only chance we have.

        • amagi

          Dear Oregon Bill,
Our country is going down the drain for LACK of the ideology

    • John R. Lancellotti

CELADOR2 …. Frankly, I’m getting tired of this race … and all these debates. What’s being said by the candidates has been pretty much the same for a long time now.

  • Charlie Hanna

This is a great opportunity to help keep the contest legitimate. Let’s all do anything we can to get Ron Paul elected in Virginia. This is the time to show the power of the States. Just as in the State of Georgia, where Obama is likely to be removed as a legal candidate (and rightly so).

    • John R. Lancellotti

CHARLIE HANNA … Count me out. Ron Paul is not a true conservative … and his foreign policy is ludicrous. If it were up to him, a third world war would find America fighting men and women dying at Normandy again, trying to get a foothold on the European continent. Our bases abroad are important and significant. I don’t mind cutting the budget … but not if it means abandoning any semblance of an intelligent foreign policy. Dr. Paul is an isolationist, a condition that’s just not suitable for a world made small by the modern weapons of war today.

      • stillmoral

Ron Paul is a Libertarian. That makes him a RINO. He would be a disaster in the office of POTUS. Even his idea of legalizing drugs is insane. It’s like saying because people are corrupt, we should give up and let them have their way. Whether in Nazi Germany or in Roe v Wade America, legalizing something is imensely powerful in persuading people of the moral acceptability of immoral acts. In fact, for a great many people, legal equals moral.

      • Sunshine makes me smile ;)

Paul is a non-interventionist not an isolationist Lancellotti. Ron Paul is our ONLY hope to restore America!

      • ghetto man

WOW! A fascist RINO for sure! To disagree with Ron Paul is as antiAmerican as it gets. Every war that we are involved in violates Art. sec 8, of the Constitution. Ron Paul an isolationist? John you have been drinking neofascist cool aid again. The proper term is non interventionist. If you don’t like the US Constitution you can leave the US anytime you want, in fact I have enough money in my pocket to buy you a one way ticket out of here. Save out country from antiAmerican extremists like John and vote Ron Paul!

      • Veteran Defender

Dr. Paul is an isolationist? Only if you believe what the media and those for the big government, big military complex establishment tell you.

      • Dan

Hey Lancellotti…………….Ron Paul not a true conservative ? Pray wouldst thou tell me how you define a conservative ? By my definition
Ron Paul is the ONE and ONLY true conservative in the bunch. If any of the RINO’s get elected, I promise you nothing will change. We might just as well keep Obama !

This man is the real deal, everything he believes in is in complete accordance with the Word of God and the constitution of the United States. Alot of people have misinterpreted what he says, thanks to the media and the war hawks, but this video series will explain his true intentions and hopes for America. After watching this video it will be very difficult to put any of the other candidates in even a close category to Dr. Paul’s principles, integrity and his passion for truth and justice.
These videos need to be seen by as many bible believing voters as possible so please for the sake of our future and everything we hold dear, forward this to everyone in your address book, to the members of your church and pastors. So much is at stake.

There are already several more States on the same track as Georgia in that regard. Chin up & keep pushing (EVERYBODY!) to restore the 10th Amendment States Rights & Powers back to the States (& the People, respectively).

  • John Hasse

At least SOMEONE gets to make a real choice. I refuse to take part in those polls that ask if I favor Romney or Gingrich. ‘None of the above’ should always be a real option. With the media 100% against Ron Paul I guess it isn’t surprising that many people are against him, but I can’t imagine being for any of the others.

  • Patrioticnut

I sure hope they do, Ron Paul would even be better than the moderate Romney.

    • John R. Lancellotti

PATRIOTICNUT .. Your opinion is so tempting, mainly because the darn GOP has failed to produce a viable candidate. But I maintain that Ron Paul would be a disaster.

      • cmbhi

You ‘maintain’ but give no reason? Throw enough out and think it will stick?
        Wrong.
Everyone agrees Ron Paul’s economic policies are the best offered.
And many are now waking up to the phony ME wars. Libya wasn’t fought for oil but to install a central bank! Before, Afghanistan and Iraq were also ‘entral bank-free, now they have a Rothchild’s central bank securely in their borders – why else would the military build such a huge base there? Why do you think they are going after Iran? Because that terribley poor country has a true crazy guy in charge? No, it’s because Iran doesn’t have a privately owned central bank.
America has 130 bases in 190 not to protect its interests, but to protect the globalists money supply – their central banks.
You need open your eyes, do some research and learn something instead of dropping one liners that mean nothing.

        • Anthony San Diego

          cmbhi:
Bravo!!! Unfortunately, not enough people world wide, Americans included, are aware of the facts you presented. And I do mean facts! If anyone posting is naive enough to argue it will prove not only my point, but yours as well.

John R……………..I think you are a plant in these comments to keep stiring up the crap that the media is feeding us. COME ON……….ADMIT IT ! ! !

      • Oregon Bill

I am a true Conservative Republican but I’d much rather deal with Mitt or Newt in the White House than what the ignorant and uninformed voters put upon us in 2008, a lot of Conservatives could not stand McCain, and stayed home. We need to come together behind a Republican to beat Obama this time!

        • OB1

Romney, Santorum no Gingrich will do anything to changed our fiat money system by central bankers and the Federal Reserve.

Educate yourself on the Federal Reserve and how foreign bankers to control of our country. Read the following link to “A Country Defeated in Victory” (http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/acountry.htm), Ron Paul may not be not be the nominee or the president. If the voter fraud doesn’t get him, the power elite will. The reason that I will support him with all I can is for the same reason he gives for running… the message of liberty. This country is going down and one man cannot be the savior. Ron Paul quote: “An idea who’s time has come cannot be stopped by any army or any government!” The masses must wake up and embrace the FACT that our future prosperity, as a nation, is up to us and that that can only be accomplished if we are ready and willing to let go of the materials that keep us in shackels…as our forefathers did. We must do all we can to support this great patriot and his message of liberty.

      • Carol Fryer

You have still not proven your case. Why would he be a disaster? And no vague statements please. Give some facts and details.

  • ghetto man

If we want to save our Republic from the demorepublinazi’s, Ron Paul is the only choice! He is a real Republican, with real Republican values. He can’t be bought by the banksters or special interest groups. His followers can’t be bought either. In fact the GOP can’t win against the Obamanazi without him. If Ron Paul doesn’t win, the GOP can kiss it’s butt goodbye. Wake up America, this is not a game, this is our nation and our Constitution that is a stake – don’t be foolish! Vote Ron Paul all the way to FREEDOM!

  • Bob in Boston

Ron Paul will probably win a state outright *before* Virginia so hopefully that prevents the media from saying they were “really voting for Newt”.

But the most important thing at this point is for Newt and Santorum to drop out altogether to solidify the “not Romney” vote behind one candidate, Ron Paul. It’s all but mathematically impossible for Newt or Santorum to win the nomination already since they are not on the ballot in 4 other states beside Virginia, amounting to over 500 delegates. So the longer they stay in the race the longer they pull votes away from the one true conservative in the race who can actually WIN the general election. So yes, to stop the GOP establishment from pushing Romney down our throats people should vote for Ron Paul, but if they really want to defeat Obama, then they should for Ron Paul in every state, not just Virginia. A vote for Santorum or Newt is not only wasted because they can’t possibly get enough delegates, but since Romney will get crushed by Obama in the general election, a vote for Santorum, Newt or Romney is really a vote for Obama.

    • John R. Lancellotti

BOB IN BOSTON … In my opinion, so is a vote for Ron Paul, for reasons I’ve already stated. And I have to go back to the warning sounded by Michele Bachmann. She said … and I agree … that Paul is a danger to the democracy.

      • stillmoral

We are not supposed to be a democracy. We were founded as a Republic. Other than that I agree.

      • Veteran Defender

Paul is a danger to the current establishment and the democracy. He actually believes in the Constitution and the REPUBLIC. We are a Constitutional Republic and there is a big difference between that and a Democracy.

        • Sunshine makes me smile ;)

Too many do not understand the difference you have pointed out. Let’s hope folks become educated before it’s too late.

        • Joseph C Moore, USN Ret

Republic or democracy? That is the question. The electorate, in general, does not know the difference which is how the country got into the quagmire it is in today.

      • Larry

Let’s just say that Michelle Bachman probably won’t be receiving any membership offers from MENSA. She was nothing more than a fundamentalist christian that thinks we need to continue putting what we think is best for Israel ahead of what’s good for our own country. And since you are a supporter of Mrs. Bachman, do you recall her argument for why we need to continue giving foreign aid to Pakistan?

      • ghetto man

John, John, John, is there any part of the US Constitution that you agree with? A true patriot would know that the founders of our Republic were anti democratic. They hated democracy! Thomas Paine, one of the great men who helped form the very foundation of our republic, said “A democracy is the vilest form of government there is!” James Madison said that there has never been a democracy that has ever endured for any length of time and that it always lead to the “loss of property rights contention and chaos.” Samuel Adams said “Democracies waist exhaust and murder themselves. There hasn’t been a democracy yet that didn’t commit suicide.”
James Madison, the fourth President of the United States said this about democracy, “. . . democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention, have ever been found incompatible with personal security of the rights of property, and have in general been short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.” The Federalist Papers, No. X, New York, March 17, 1788
The Constitution of the United States makes no reference to democracy anywhere in the law. Instead, our Constitution guarantees every State a “republican” form of government.
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; . . . United States Constitution, Article IV, Sec. 4.
This is why I am voting for Ron Paul.
My question the John is, if you hate the US Constitution so much, why are you here?

      • http://www.alphillipsfordelegate39md.com AP

Many conservatives know that the country’s founders abhorred democracy because it descends into mobocracy and then oligarchy. Unfortunately, many citizens fail to understand this.

        • Anthony San Diego

          Well stated.

      • amagi

        Dear Mr. Lancelotti,
If Dr. Paul is a danger to our over-developed democracy, which is nearing
European proportions, good ! The Founders abhored such democracy with good reasons. However, Dr. Paul is a friend to our Republic, and it
        seems the only one.

      • Carol Fryer

You did? What were the reasons?

      • OB1

She’s a chicken hawk like the other remaining candidates. We are a constitutional republic not a democracy.

    • Martin Ridens

Facts and common sense seem to be wasted on so many around here who parrot the republican and media talking points.

    • stillmoral

Wow, you must be hitting some of the RP drugs. You are dreaming Ron Paul is a totally out in space person. He has absolutely zero leadership ability. He just gets reelected because he brings home the pork.

    • Sunshine makes me smile ;)

Bob in Boston – Well said! Sure hope folks start thinking this through and stop listening to the talking heads on cable who are stirring up confusion in this whole primary process. Rallying behind their “surging candidate du jour” … First it was Bachman, then Perry, then Cain, then even Huntsman was a flash in the pan, then Santorum, then Newt, and all the while Romney to bring balance to the dramatic debacle! Ron Paul is the only one who is consistent (and has been for many years) on the most important issues facing our nation and has a serious plan to restore America.

    • cmbhi

I agree with everything you write. I sometimes think the GOP is in cahoots with the DNC to keep Obeyme in power so the final destruction of America will take place. Why else would they have put forward McCain in 2008 – who is probaby as evil as he said Putin is since McCain is the one who wrote the NDAA which will throw any American in a FEMA camp just for going against any policy the DC swamp rats write – and now Romney. There is no difference between the dems and repubs – call them rems or depubs, if you like. It’s all about power and what they can get and who cares about the real Americans.
Ron Paul is a true statesman who has honored his oath of office and the only candidate who will follow the Constitution and restore America and our founding principles.

    • Oregon Bill

His showing in Florida is indicative of his support nationally, every single vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama, and that’s a fact. Obama would trounce him in Texas, even. We don’t need a fringe protest vote in this election, we need a win at all costs, Ron Paul can’t possibly even compete with Obama, the general public is way too stupid.

The anti- Paul zombies either lie and distort facts, or simply name- call, because all of the FACTUAL information supports him. As a long time active, Conservative Republican, what I’m curious about is whether the zombies are being paid for the smear campaigns, are mentally ill, have a vested interest in either another candidate or the destruction of our country, or are just pathetically ignorant.

EVERY conservative I know is a strong Ron Paul supporter, including ALL the active duty military and veterans, and I know a lot of them. But then true Conservatives do due diligence, and don’t have their minds made up by media talking heads.

    • Neville

      @Bob in Boston,

I am an all-in Ron Paul supporter, but the bit about Santorum and Gingrich not being on the ballot for over 500 delegates is simply not true. I started researching it moments after Doug Wead said it, have followed up on info from others that looked promising, and found it to be wanting. Wead hasn’t answered my request for specifics, and nobody can come up with any arithmetic that matches his conclusion. Therefore I believe that what he meant was “there are 500 delegates out there that Santorum and Gingrich don’t seem very serious about, and we are very serious about, so as far as I’m concerned, they won’t get those delegates.” That’s OK as a theory, but he stated it as fact. This may be the only time in 4 years that I ‘ve disagreed with Doug Wead on a political topic.

  • Veteran Defender

People who say Paul is crazy for believeing that the country should be ran in accordance with the constitution, must also agree that the founders were crazy too. The constitution and our form of government has lasted longer than any in other form in the would, in recent history. If you don’t believe in personal responsibility and the constitution then vote for any one but Ron Paul. If you can’t see what is happening in this country with the nanny state, and to freedom and liberty for the individual; you’re not awake yet. If you want business as usual and Obama’s policy of the federal government running the economy, banks, healthcare industry, auto manufacturing, energy industry, and telling you what light bulbs you are allowed to purchase, a government with the power and willingness to lock up American citizens for political desent without a trial or charges, then don’t vote for Ron Paul, and join the forces behind the New World Order. Conspiracy, or fact? Look around and you decide.

  • gbtaylor1@verizon.net

We are definitely living in strange times. The state known as the “Mother of Presidents” has sunk to the point of denying it’s citizens a right to express their opinion on who should represent them as POTUS. Now I’ve heard all the supporting arguments of the establishment of the Republican party of VA and all the snide remarks about how stupid all the candidates were for not complying with party rules- so don’t waste your time trying to explain this act away – it simply will not work – Virginia voters have been denied a vote.
Last week I got a letter from the Governor’s office; yesterday I get a letter from the Lt. Governor’s office and about 2 weeks ago I get a letter from the AG’s office – all of them
asking for money and support – if you are not a Mitt Romney supporter – I do not have to tell you the course of action taken with these letters.

  • Bill

Ron Paul is running left of Obama – but I’d still vote in the primary for R P in order to defeat Romney in Va – it’s a great idea!!

    • Larry

I’m guessing that you receive your talking points from either rick santorum or glenn beck.

    • Carol Fryer

You must work for the GOP. Thats just not true.

  • EMINENCE

    Ron Paul is a physician, a 12 term congressman from Texas, who lost in a bid for POTUS in 2008;
he is Chairman of the Domestic Monetary Policy Subcommittee and the Author of 8 books. He has been telling the American people the truth about the Money Masters of the world. He tells the TRUTH about the poor education of our children, since the Federal Dept of Ed. usurped
the States and parental authority. He stand for LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL. I guess it
takes a genius like Ralph to figure out he’s a crazy old fool and a three time loser. Unfortunately,
we get what we deserve – which is why we have B.O. and why we will probably get CFR darling and United Nations “New World Order” enthusiast Newt. Ever wonder why NONE
of the congressmen who served under Newt have endorsed him? Senator Tom Coburn
actually said .”He’s the LAST person I would want as president.” He was in the house when
    Newt was Speaker.

      EMINENCE,

Why is everybody saying that Mitt Romney is so bad ? I think he is wonderful and if he is elected, we can all come together and put our differences aside just like when our Great President Obama was elected. Please consider Mitt Romney and send in a donation to help him get his message out to those that don’t understand his position on issues. Also, please trust the wonderful people that control the GOP. They know what is best for all of us and are right when they say that the masses are ignorant for not getting behind their choice to be the next President. Romney is the choice of the GOP. It’s his turn. He has earned this chance because he got out of the way for Sweet old John McCain. Lets all get behind Mitt this time and in 2021, it will be Ron Pauls turn. What do you say ? Lets all join hands and come together and support Mitt Romney. Karl Rove and Dana Perrino love Mitt and they know what’s best for all of us.

The last several elections, I have struggled and voted for the lesser of two evils. We can no longer afford to vote this way. We must have a candidate who will follow our Constitution and follow in the footsteps of our forefathers in their faith in the Lord. Stop looking at international law but at our founding documents. Men who are not afraid to go on bended knee to pray to our Lord. Men who fear our Lord. Men who will listen and follow our Lord. We have lived in darkness for too long. We have been silent for too long and allowed our country to back slide to where it is today. Good men can no longer remain silent. Good men need to rise up and place our country back on it’s rightful course. “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke) WE have done nothing for too long. It is time to restore our families to a mother and a father, married in the eyes of the Lord. For men to be leaders in their home and community. To set strong examples of character and integrity to their children and to raise their children up to be leaders as well. Are Godly men ready to step up and step out.

    • Are You Serious

I don’t fear our Lord. I trust in our Lord. When he is fed up with us, then things will change. When he says so, not us. This world is ruled by Satan. It will never be changed by man.

This is Ron Paul’s famous Predictions speech from April 24, 2002. This is the original video compiling recent images and video to give his speech a chilling effect.

“I have no timetable for these predictions, but just in case, keep them around and look at them in 5-10 years. Let’s hope and pray that I’m wrong on all accounts. If so, I will be very pleased. ” Ron Paul

The election of RON PAUL would be the very best possible scenario , nationally , not just in Virginia , but nationwide . The worse possible scenario , and one that will guarantee our failure at worse and mark time for the next progressive at best , would be the election of Romney to the office of president . While I would prefer to see RON PAUL get the job I would still prefer Newt over Romney , or ANYBODY for that matter .

    • Jim

He’s not going to change any of the SS policies on those who are currently DEPENDING upon them…And he’ll be making enough cuts out of the Unconstitutional boondoggles that SS will finally be solvent without breaking any of the current commitments. The first major change will be to allow younger people to opt-out of SS if they would prefer to ensure for their own insurances & retirements with the private market. I mean, really, does someone like Warren Buffet really NEED SS? No, but he’s still enrolled for the benefits!
Ron Paul has specific plans to wean us off the nanny-state without causing hardship for those who are still too far tied up in it to get out.

  • Hop-a-long

My dear friends, if anyone else gets the nomination but Dr. Ron Paul it will be business as usual. Compromise and trade-offs wheeling and dealing big government and so on. Sad but true.

The States that are really serious about doing so are already on the move…They’re already increasing peoples’ political awareness & pushing for more Constitution (State & Federal levels) & less criminality. Ron Paul will win the Virginia primary if enough Democrats stuff the ballot box for him. He is getting a lot of support from Democrat operatives with time and money to burn. The Virginia GOP could prevent this debacle if they put Santorum and Gingrich on the ballot.
I am no fan of Mormon-moron Mitt, but Ron Paul is a tool of Democrats who will use every dirty trick to get MAObama reelected.
BTW, I am a born-again Christian, an my moniker is named after one of the greatest AUTOMOBILES ever built.

    • http://r3voluti0n.com Jason Burns

      MArmonV16Indiana:

      You are confused.

I am a conservative Christian and believe me when I say that Ron Paul is the ONLY conservative running for president. He is the only principled, honest, faithful candidate running. He has been fighting the establishment from the beginning, while the others supported TARP, bailouts, and spending. Ron Paul is the only one who has been fighting to restore the constitution. He is against the Patriot Act, SOPA, PIPA, NDAA, and the IRS. He is truly the candidate who supports the people, smaller government, and less waste. That is what conservationism is all about. There is nothing liberal about any of these qualities.

    • PaulH

Believe it or not, most Democrats actually have a conscience. If they vote the Republican ticked, most of them will vote for they candidate they think will do the best job as president.

  • http://r3voluti0n.com Jason Burns

Ron Paul 2012! The only true conservative running for president in 2012. He is the only one willing to cut real spending, not potential future spending over 10 years like the rest of the candidates, but Ron Paul is talking about real cuts, like 1 trillion the first year. Now that is a conservative!

  • Paul

Again, I always thought that Conservatives were the ones who always studied and knew the issues in a campaign. There is no doubt that Obama needs to be defeated. But, your criticisms of Mitt Romney are right out of the Democratic playbook. Could it be that some of you are “plants” to destroy his chances of Mitt getting the nomination? Conspiracies can be made up by anyone, why not me. Mitt is a conservative. Go to his web site. Read what he will do. Not one idea he has on his platform can be labeled progressive, liberal, one world order yada, yada, yada. I am beginning to think that a lot of conservatives are just kooks like those who believe that the twin towers were intentionally destroyed by George Bush. Oops, sorry that’s what the Ron Paul followers believe. Ron Paul is so naive to think that we can withdraw to “fortress” America and forget about world problems. Yes, we are not the policemen in the world, but just remember World War II was caused by no one standing up to Hitler. That is supported by history. Of course we can blame Romney and perhaps Bain Capital had a hand in arming Germany. Oops, another conspiracy I’ve come up with. Throwing in a conspiracy now and then gives me credibility with you guys I hope. Mitt Romney kneels every night and morning with his family to pray. Opps, again he doesn’t pray to the correct Jesus Christ. I guess his prayers don’t count. Oh yeah, by the way he is a Mormon. Not to be trusted. I have never witnessed so much BS on this site. Go ahead you Paul supporters, commit suicide by going third party. Obama can hardly wait, because there is absolutely no doubt he would win the election. What do the Paul supporters and the Perot supporters have in common? They both allowed a democrat to win. It will be the same this time. The Perot supporters thought they would win also. Actually Perot was a tool of the Arabs, because the election of Bill Clinton allowed the terrorists to attack the United States. I just thought I would bring another little known conspiracy. After all, that has as much credibility as all the others I have read in this blog. I thought it up so it must be true.

If I were Pauls people I would be concentrating in Virginia right now. If Paul can crush Romney by say 12 or more points it will be a game changer and keep Paul in the game.
Romney is clearly the candidate of Goldman Sachs, because they are his largest contributor. Gingrich’s money man was just caught getting money from China so Gingrich is going to be favorable to China if he wins. Paul is America’s only hope.

  • Don39

I would love to see VA voters cast a protesat vote for Paul! But sorry Paulbots that is as far as it would go!

Did you pay attention? To the debates so far.Ron Paul when he gets a chance talks about what is wrong here & how to fix it,while the others talk about how great they are & how bad the others are.Did you pay attention?Vote for the person who will not sell you out to the elites for personal gain.

What Every Original-Intent Conservative Needs to Know About Liberal-tarian Ron Paul:
    – Liber-tarian, NOT Conservative. Liber-tarians, like Liber-als are two sides of the same ugly coin of Libertinism (Collectivism & Anarchy).
    – Liberal on Social issues & National Security, pseudo-conservative on Fiscal policy makes them 2/3 Liberal.
    – Neo-isolationist foreign policy along the lines of genocide enabler Neville Chamberlain and Vichy France (Euro-pacifist/appeasement).
    – Revisionist history including an extremist and non-original-intent view of the 10th Amendment that would return us to the states rights chaos of the Articles of Confederation that pre-dated our Constitution.
    – Via his radical states rights ideology Paul’s POLICY is: Pro-Choice on abortion/genocide, gay marriage, polygamy, bestiality, pedophilia, prostitution, illicit drugs, freedom of religion, and civil rights.
    – Now a documented unrepentant racist and anti-Semite in videos from the ’90s over his newsletters on which he made millions. Paul is a magnet for racial supremacist groups and neo-Confederates like David Duke & StormFront. Paul’s pic with the leader of SF is still up on their website.
    – Supports 9-11 Trutherism, Blame America Firsterism, calls Americans terrorists, occupiers, and imperialists. Voted to force homosexuality upon our combat troops against their will, and that of their commanders, chaplains, veteran’s groups, and people of faith. Paul also joined with domestic terrorist and Obama mentor Bill Ayres, Code Pink, and Michael Moore in calling the WikiLeaks traitor Manning a “patriot” and “hero”. Paul supports Jihadist terrorists like Hamas and Iran over the only democracy and ally in the Middle East, Israel.
    – Ron Paul is an oath breaker for giving aid and comfort to our enemies during a time of war, and supporting traitors. We The People hope to see Paul and his liberal cousin Obama impeached in 2012 and indicted for Treason…

    • Dagny

      I repeat:

The anti- Paul zombies either lie and distort facts, or simply name- call, because all of the FACTUAL information supports him. As a long time active, Conservative Republican, what I’m curious about is whether the zombies are being paid for the smear campaigns, are mentally ill, have a vested interest in either another candidate or the destruction of our country, or are just pathetically ignorant.

      Which are you, 9thID?

I need to speak up as a citizen of Virginia. I am for defeating Obama. I don’t see my state taking Obama off the ballot as Georgia is in the process of doing. Mitt Romney is a good and honorable man who loves his country. He contributes 40% of his income to charity and taxes, has served his country in many capacities without a salary. He has supported his wife as she has battled MS and breast cancer. Newt Gingrich has made him a more aggressive candidate by being a street fighter himself. I think Romney is ready for prime time. I pray my wonderful state of Virginia will not be bigoted regarding religion as s. Carolina has been and they will do their best to defeat Obama.

  • Julian Ferreras

Ron Paul needs the opportunity to put our U.S.A. on the right tracks, lets do it.

  • Shane

Only a delusional Paulbot would believe that Libertarian loon, Paul, has a chance of beating Romney. Paul is only polling at 10% in Florida.

    • OB1

Doesn’t matter. Florida’s primary winner gets ALL the delegates. Romney and the GOP machine and big money already think they have it. They’ve been there for the last few years.

    • Dagny

Only an ignorant, delusional, zombie loon wouldn’t know Ron Paul isn’t even campaigning in Floria.

  • Patricia

I would if I lived there. I’ll vote against Romney because of what the Republican Establishment has done to Gingrich. In effect, they told “we the people” to shut up and sit down. They “know” the candidate that’s best for us. Yeah! They sure do! They gave us McCain, and we haven’t forgotten that. They make the laws “we” must live by and little benefit do we derive from them but they sure line their pockets. Now, they “tell” us whom to vote for. I think not. If they kill off Gingrich, I’ll vote for Paul. I’ll NEVER vote for Romney simply because my nose is sore from being led around.

    • Gene

Newt is and has been establishment. How do think he made all his money since he left congress. Romney is the conservative fresh face and Washington outsider who has more management and leadership experience than all of the other three candidates combined.

    9thID and Shane:
You don’t know what you are talking about. Paul is a conservative similar to what western and midwest conservatives were back in the 1940’s and 50’s before the eastern establishment co-oped the republican party and ruined it for anyone that believes in things like individual liberty and personal responsiblity. Look at the speeches of Senator Robert Taft or Congressman Howard Buffett (Warrens father) and you will see that Paul is not a libertarian. Read the article by John Nichols entitled “Why do GOP bosses fear Ron Paul” which can be found on the web that details all of this. The media calls Paul a libertarian because of a combination of ignorance and because they don’t want the public to know that this is how the republican party used to be 60 or 70 years ago.

  • SamB

Romney wins in Florida, its a given. And then there will be a tidal wave of bombastic BS from the Establishment Ruling Class Media about how Romney’s nomination is assured.
    …..
I can assure you this……I am old school repub……….and I will help hand this election back over to Obama before I will vote for another one of these shiny-shoe, self-promoting, MBA types that are pre-meditatingly destroying the USA for personal gain……..
No way in H3!! will I vote for Romney.
    Repubs lose again.
    Unless…………..RON PAUL 2012.

It is said that if 1 man tells you you’re a donkey, just ignore him; if 10 men tell you you’re a donkey, go out and buy a saddle….
If one candidate fails to comply with VA rules, leave him off the ballot; when the MAJORITY of candidates fail to comply, it’s time for VA to saddle up.

A better resolution would have been adding space for a write-in vote, and leaving it to candidates to teach their supporters to spell correctly so their write-in votes would count. I cannot shake this feeling that the Robamney camp had something to do with the hardline decision Virginia made. That decision punishes the VOTERS more than the candidates. Suffice to say my vote will NEVER go to Robamney.

  • Anumber1

I’ve thought about this possibility of Ron Paul beating Mitt Romney in Virginia. Rep. Paul should make Virginia a major campaign effort.
